Hofstra controls the narrow 4-3 edge in the series. The two teams played previously in TD Arena on a historic afternoon where Bre Bolden broke the CofC Division I Era career points record with a -3-4 and 5 steals. The Cougars led early and never quit, hanging on for the 7-55 win. Scouting the Pride - Hofstra went 5-9 overall last year and picked up the No. 3 seed in the CAA Tournament. The Pride was stunned in the opening round by Northeastern, but received a WNIT big anyway, which they made the most of. Hofstra pulled off wins over Harvard, Villanova and Virginia to make the quarterfinals, before at last falling 6-46 to FGCU. - The Pride has struggled through their conference slate, going -9 against CAA opponents. Due to a rescheduling, they come off a home and home series with William & Mary, which the two teams split with home victories. Hofstra's one other conference win came back in mid-january on the road against Towson. - The Pride are led by Ashunae Durant, who in addition to being the team's leading scorer (6.0 PPG) and shot blocker (33), is Top 0 in the nation in rebounds at. RPG. Krystal Luciano is the team's other big contributor, averaging points, 6 assists and nearly two steals per game.

3 Bolden Becomes New CofC Scoring Leader in 7-55 Win Over Hofstra CHARLESTON, S.C. Breanna Bolden solidified herself as one of the greatest players in program history on Education Day against Hofstra (8-0, -6), breaking Wilma Simpson's CofC Division I Era career points record and helping the Cougars (6-3, 3-5) pull away for the 7-55 win over the Pride. Bolden entered the game just four points shy of the 4-year old record, and blew past the record before the end of the first quarter. All around, the senior guard has another stat-stuffing performance that's become typical of her, registering her seventh double-double of the season with a -3-4 with five steals and a block. It was to no avail though, as the College would never again relinquish the lead for the rest of the game. CofC led by as double-digits for the final 3 minutes of action, as well as lengthy stretches in the second quarter. Dajah Logan was the one other Cougar to join Bolden in double-digit scoring with points on 5 of shooting. Brianna Boyd came off the bench to contribute a modest five points, five boards and two blocks in just minutes of play. Bolden's five-steal game marked the eighth consecutive time she's recorded at least three steals. At 30 for her career, she's just 0 shy of breaking the CofC All-Time record of 30 held by Regina Brown (980-83). As a team, the Cougars lost the rebounding battle to Hofstra 5-36, thanks in large part to junior forward Ashunae Durant pulling down a 3-6 double-double. However, the Cougars won the turnover battle -4, and enjoyed a good shooting day (7 of 58) in stark contrast to Hofstra's 9 of 7 (6.8%) outing. The Cougars return to the road Sunday at p.m. for their second meeting of the season with UNCW. 3

19 Head Coach Since taking the helm of the College of Charleston women s basketball program on April, 4, 04, Candice M. Jackson has done a remarkable job at setting the program on a winning trajectory. Jackson inherits the mantle looking to build on the foundations for success set forth by former coaching greats at The College in former Tennessee Director of Women s Athletics Joan Cronan (974-76), Nancy Wilson (two tenures from and 003-), Scooter Barnette (984-94), Kathy McCaskill-Rhein (994-98), Melissa Slone ( ) and Natasha Adair (0-4). In 05-6, the native of Lansing, Mich. more than doubled her win total from year one, going -0 overall and 5-3 in conference action. She secured her first-ever CAA Tournament victory by way of a 7-6 win over the UNCW Seahawks, and came within 67 seconds of shocking the No. seeded James Madison Dukes in the second round. She is responsible for coaching two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year Breanna Bolden, who achieved All-Conference acclaim during both years of Jackson s tenure. Prior to the end of the season, Coach Jackson led the Cougars to a 68-4 win over UNCW, which set the all-time CofC record for fewest points allowed in a game. Candice M. McCallie. She worked mainly with the guards and was a part of back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 0 and 03. During her time on the Blue Devils staff, Jackson helped sign three of the top recruiting classes in the nation. In 0, Duke inked the seventh-best recruiting class in the country which included the No. 3 overall prospect in Alexis Jones, and the No. signing classes in 03 and 04. In all, she worked with McDonald s High School All-Americans, two WNBA First Round draft picks, two USBWA All-Americans, three Associated Press All-Americans and 5 ACC All-Academic Team selections. Prior to Duke, Jackson spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wake Forest University under head coach Mike Petersen. There, she aided in the signing of the program s first Top 00 signee and mentored two All-ACC selections. Jackson also helped lead the Demon Deacons to an 8-4 overall record and a WNIT appearance in Prior to her arrival at Wake Forest, Jackson spent four successful seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Richmond under head coach Michael Shafer, where she helped take the team from a 3-7 record in to a 4-0 finish and WNIT berth in While at Richmond, Jackson oversaw summer camps in addition to scouting, recruiting and coordinating video operations. Jackson was also in charge of community service efforts for the Spiders. She worked closely with Spider guard Amber Petillon, who blossomed during her senior year under Jackson s guidance and has enjoyed an extremely successful career overseas. A four-year letter-winner at Michigan State University from , Jackson played for McCallie and was Coach P s first recruit at MSU. Jackson served as team captain during her junior and senior years and led the team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 003 and 004. She was also named a Big Ten Conference Scholar-Athlete twice and volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing and St. Vincent s Home for Children. A 004 graduate of Michigan State, the former guard earned her bachelor s degree in family community service. She remained at her alma mater to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the squad that advanced all the way to the National Championship Game. Originally from Lansing, Mich., Jackson was a three-time MVP at Lansing Everett High School, the same alma mater as Earvin Magic Johnson, and guided her team to the state title game as a senior.
