Bolden pawed away a careerhigh eight steals, which propelled her to 243 in her career to break the CofC Division I Era career steals record. The senior also tacked on a teamhigh 16 points, as well as eight rebounds. Tanisha Brown began her CofC career against her old team, pulling down a 1012 doubledouble in her Lowcountry debut. The Cougars come off a campaign during which they went 1120, more than doubling their win total from the previous season. The Cougars made the CAA Tournament as an 8 seed, and went on to defeat the UNCW Seahawks in the first round. That pitted them against the No. 1 seed James Madison Dukes, and the Cougars rose to the challenge. CofC hammered them inside, and led the game for nearly its full duration. But the Dukes seized the lead with 67 seconds left in the game and escaped with the 5350 win. Bolden isn t the only Cougar making her return to the program. Nola Henry and Darien Huff started a combined 59 games last year, and figure to see big minutes going forward. Henry runs the CofC point after averaging 434 last year, while Huff is a reliable offensive threat both inside and out who also acts as a defensive anchor on the other side of the floor. Dajah Logan, Shiclasia Brown, Courtney Gardner and Bri Sullivan also return to give the Cougars a spark off the bench. Over the offseason, the Cougars lost its entire starting frontcourt with the graduation of Jackie LunaCastro and Kelsey Booth. The Cougars will need to fins a way to replace their combined production of 20 points and 11 rebounds per game. The Cougars have not one, but two redshirts who will see their first action as Cougars this year. Bri Boyd comes to the Lowcountry from Winthrop, and will be eligible to suit up later in the year at the center spot. Tanisha Brown meanwhile can play right away at the Cougars power forward spot, having transferred to CofC from. In addition to their redshirts, the Cougars bring in four freshman to the scene. Baileigh Larson comes to the College from Orange Park, Florida, and figures to be an early factor in the post. Cailin Dorsey comes from Raleigh, N.C., and will bring a threat of the deep ball to the CofC offense any time she touches the ball. Deja Ford and Dee Heath round things out, who both provide a slashing and driving threat for the Cougars from the comboguard spot. Historically, the Cougars have absolutely owned the series, going 253 against the Eagles dating back to the 7677 season. In recent years, however, Winthrop has won two of the last three contests. The two teams met last season in TD Arena. Both Kelsey Booth (1512) and Bre Bolden (1910) pulled down doubledoubles, while Darien Huff had a 1832 outing, which earned her CAA Rookie of the Week honors. 3 Cougars Correct Course in 7763 Win Over Winthrop CHARLESTON, S.C. In the program's 100th regular season game hosted in TD Arena, the College of Charleston women's basketball team got back to its winning ways Tuesday, taking an early lead and riding it all the way to the end in a 7763 victory over the Winthrop Eagles (29). The College celebrated its fifth victory of the season, which is significant because they recorded just five wins on the entire season in By already achieving their previous season's win total, the Cougars are without question on the upswing. The Cougars entered the contest muchmaligned in the rebounding department, having lost the battle of the boards in eight of their nine contests. Something snapped into focus for The College on Tuesday though, and not only did CofC win the rebounding battle 5034, but both Breanna Bolden (19 points, Last Time... Booth's 12 rebounds was just one shy of her careerhigh of 13, set way back in March of 2014 during her time with Siena. We had a pretty focused group out there tonight, especially in the second half, head coach Candice M. Jackson said. Overall, we had a balanced night, and it was a fun game to coach. Darien Huff was excellent shooting from all areas of the field, going 7of10 overall and 3of4 from deep en route to a careerhigh 18point game. Dajah Logan came off the bench to score a careerhigh nine points of her own, and very nearly made it 12 with a buzzerbeating three to end the third period that was released just a shade late. Jackie LunaCastro had a useful outing with seven points, six boards, two blocks and a steal, while Nola Henry rounded things out with a five point, seven rebound, seven assist effort. The Cougars had a strong collective shooting night, going 49.1% from the field, 57.1% from deep, and 78.9% from the line. They also doubled the Eagles up in the assists department (16 vs. 8). The Eagles won the takeaway battle with only 11 turnovers of their own compared to CofC's 23, almost exclusively because Aliyah Kilpatrick went crazy by pulling off a doubledouble with steals (28 points, 10 steals). The Cougars have the Christmas break off, and won't reconvene for their final outofconference contest on Wednesday, Dec. 30. They'll travel to Macon, Ga. to take on the Mercer Bears in The University Center. 3

McCallie. She worked mainly with the guards and was a part of backtoback NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 2012 and During her time on the Blue Devils staff, Jackson helped sign three of the top recruiting classes in the nation. In 2012, Duke inked the seventhbest recruiting class in the country which included the No. 3 overall prospect in Alexis Jones, and the No. 2 signing classes in 2013 and In all, she worked with 12 McDonald s High School AllAmericans, two WNBA First Round draft picks, two USBWA AllAmericans, three Associated Press AllAmericans and 15 ACC AllAcademic Team selections. Prior to Duke, Jackson spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wake Forest University under head coach Mike Petersen. There, she aided in the signing of the program s first Top 100 signee and mentored two AllACC selections. She worked closely with Spider guard Amber Petillon, who blossomed during her senior year under Jackson s guidance and has enjoyed an extremely successful career overseas. A fouryear letterwinner at Michigan State University from , Jackson played for McCallie and was Coach P s first recruit at MSU. Jackson served as team captain during her junior and senior years and led the team to backtoback NCAA Tournament appearances in 2003 and She was also named a Big Ten Conference ScholarAthlete twice and volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing and St. Vincent s Home for Children. A 2004 graduate of Michigan State, the former guard earned her bachelor s degree in family community service. She remained at her alma mater to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the squad that advanced all the way to the National Championship Game. Originally from Lansing, Mich., Jackson was a threetime MVP at Lansing Everett High School, the same alma mater as Earvin Magic Johnson, and guided her team to the state title game as a senior.
