State team. Bre Bolden scored a 1712 doubledouble with two steals, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 427 Wolfpack run between the second and third quarters. As of November 21, Bolden ranks first in the nation in steals per game this season at 5.33, and third in the country in total steals at 16. The Cougars decimated the Winthrop Eagles on Nov 19, pulling out the 9564 win in Winthrop Coliseum. Tanisha Brown picked up her second consecutive doubledouble (2010) and added five steals, Bolden had 22 points and six steals to move up to No. 20 on the CofC AllTime scoring list, and Darien Huff set careerhighs in scoring (19 Pts), assists (5) and blocks (2). It was the secondmost FGM (38) and the fourthmost points (95) the Cougars have scored in their Division I Era. Twotime CAA Defensive Player of the Year Breanna Bolden had an excellent start to the season in The College's 6249 loss to Charlotte. Bolden pawed away a careerhigh eight steals, which propelled her to 243 in her career to break the CofC Division I Era career steals record. The senior also tacked on a teamhigh 16 points, as well as eight rebounds. Tanisha Brown began her CofC career against her old team, pulling down a 1012 doubledouble in her Lowcountry debut vs. Charlotte. The Cougars come off a campaign during which they went 1120, more than doubling their win total from the previous season. The Cougars made the CAA Tournament as an 8 seed, and went on to defeat the UNCW Seahawks in the first round. That pitted them against the No. 1 seed James Madison Dukes, and the Cougars rose to the challenge. CofC hammered them inside, and led the game for nearly its full duration. But the Dukes seized the lead with 67 seconds left in the game and escaped with the 5350 win. Over the offseason, the Cougars lost its entire starting frontcourt with the graduation of Jackie LunaCastro and Kelsey Booth. The Cougars will need to fins a way to replace their combined production of 20 points and 11 rebounds per game. The Cougars add six newcomers to the roster, two redshirts and four freshman. Redshirt junior transfers Tanisha Brown (Charlotte) and Bri Boyd (Winthrop), as well as freshman Baileigh Larson (Orange Park, Fla.) will help bolster the frontcourt. Cailin Dorsey (Raleigh, N.C.), Deja Ford (White Plains, Md.) and Dee Heath (Hanahan, S.C.) will all look to create a spark in the CofC backcourt. The two teams met for the first time last season in Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va. Kelsey Booth came close to a doubledouble with a 98 performance, but it was largely a night to forget for the Cougars. 11 different players scored for Va. Tech, with Vanessa Panousis ad Chanette Hicks combining for 29 points as the Hokies win Scouting the Hokies Va. Tech comes off an 1814 season last year. After getting bounced in the first round of the ACC Tournament by Boston College, the Hokies went to the WNIT, earning a win against Elon at home (6859) before suffering a road loss to Ohio (5764). The Hokies are led by first year coach Kenny Brooks, somebody the Cougars are quite familiar with. Brooks was previously the longtime head coach at CAArival James Madison, leading the Dukes to a record in his 14 seasons, which included six NCAA Tournament bids. Through four games, Chanette Hicks leads the Hokies in scoring with 16.8 rebounds per game, adding a teamhigh 16 assists and 14 steals. Sidney Cook and Regan Magarity anchor the Va. Tech front court, averaging 14.1 rebounds and 23.8 points per game between the two of them. 1

3 Last Time... Nov 23, 2015 Va. Tech Cougars Beaten in Blacksburg, 8147 BLACKSBURG, VA. The College of Charleston fell to 22 on the season Sunday on an 8147, as the Virginia Tech Hokies (41) proved too high a mountain to climb. The start of the game looked promising for the Cougars, with Jackie LunaCastro making the first five points for the College. After hanging tight through the first seven minutes though, the Hokies responded with Vanessa Panousis catching fire from deep, hitting three deep shots to score nine of the Hokies 13 points in the final three minutes. The Cougars would never properly regroup, as VT would go on to outscore CofC in every quarter thereafter. Lead changed 1 time. offensive boards the way that we should have. We didn't do a good enough job at locating their shooters. All of those things hurt us. Freshman Darien Huff was the lone Cougar to achieve doubledigit scoring on the evening with ten points, chiefly by way of a 7of10 performance from the stripe. Senior Kelsey Booth came close to a doubledouble with nine points and eight rebounds, but was hampered by late foul problems. Nola Henry rounded things out with a seasonhigh seven assists. The Hokies were led by Vanessa Panousis, who sunk five threes on 5of8 shooting from deep. Chanette Hicks was also prominently involved with 14 points of her own. Virginia Tech had the edge in almost every meaningful statistical category. Their one sizable blemish was their propensity for getting into foul trouble and allowing the Cougars into the bonus in two different periods. We have to learn how to shoot the ball better and make adjustments earlier so we don't keep getting beat on the same plays and the same people over and over again. We really just need to learn how to play with a bit more intensity from the beginning. With their threegame road trip at last at an end, the Cougars will make their longawaited return to TD Arena this week. They will have five full days to prepare for a noon showdown with the Charleston Southern Buccaneers (21). 3

10 Head Coach Since taking the helm of the College of Charleston women s basketball program on April, 24, 2014, Candice M. Jackson has done a remarkable job at setting the program on a winning trajectory. Jackson inherits the mantle looking to build on the foundations for success set forth by former coaching greats at The College in former Tennessee Director of Women s Athletics Joan Cronan (197476), Nancy Wilson (two tenures from and ), Scooter Barnette (198494), Kathy McCaskillRhein (199498), Melissa Slone ( ) and Natasha Adair (201214). In , the native of Lansing, Mich. more than doubled her win total from year one, going 1120 overall and 513 in conference action. She secured her firstever CAA Tournament victory by way of a 7162 win over the UNCW Seahawks, and came within 67 seconds of shocking the No. 1 seeded James Madison Dukes in the second round. She is responsible for coaching twotime CAA Defensive Player of the Year Breanna Bolden, who achieved AllConference acclaim during both years of Jackson s tenure. Prior to the end of the season, Coach Jackson led the Cougars to a 6824 win over UNCW, which set the alltime CofC record for fewest points allowed in a game. Candice M. McCallie. She worked mainly with the guards and was a part of backtoback NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 2012 and During her time on the Blue Devils staff, Jackson helped sign three of the top recruiting classes in the nation. In 2012, Duke inked the seventhbest recruiting class in the country which included the No. 3 overall prospect in Alexis Jones, and the No. 2 signing classes in 2013 and In all, she worked with 12 McDonald s High School AllAmericans, two WNBA First Round draft picks, two USBWA AllAmericans, three Associated Press AllAmericans and 15 ACC AllAcademic Team selections. Prior to Duke, Jackson spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wake Forest University under head coach Mike Petersen. There, she aided in the signing of the program s first Top 100 signee and mentored two AllACC selections. Jackson also helped lead the Demon Deacons to an 1814 overall record and a WNIT appearance in Prior to her arrival at Wake Forest, Jackson spent four successful seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Richmond under head coach Michael Shafer, where she helped take the team from a 1317 record in to a 2410 finish and WNIT berth in While at Richmond, Jackson oversaw summer camps in addition to scouting, recruiting and coordinating video operations. Jackson was also in charge of community service efforts for the Spiders. She worked closely with Spider guard Amber Petillon, who blossomed during her senior year under Jackson s guidance and has enjoyed an extremely successful career overseas. A fouryear letterwinner at Michigan State University from , Jackson played for McCallie and was Coach P s first recruit at MSU. Jackson served as team captain during her junior and senior years and led the team to backtoback NCAA Tournament appearances in 2003 and She was also named a Big Ten Conference ScholarAthlete twice and volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing and St. Vincent s Home for Children. A 2004 graduate of Michigan State, the former guard earned her bachelor s degree in family community service. She remained at her alma mater to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the squad that advanced all the way to the National Championship Game. Originally from Lansing, Mich., Jackson was a threetime MVP at Lansing Everett High School, the same alma mater as Earvin Magic Johnson, and guided her team to the state title game as a senior.
