UCF Memphis Temple SMU Tulsa Cincinnati East Carolina Houston USF Tulane UConn // UC vs. UCONN After a 3-1 victory over the Huskies in Storrs, Connecticut, on Oct. 12, the Bearcats are now 10-6 all-time over UConn. The series began in 2005, the Bearcats first season as a member of the BIG EAST Conference with the Huskies. The two schools have remained conference foes in the American and continue the rivalry. // SCOUTING THE HUSKIES UConn sits at the bottom of the American with a 2-8 league record and a 9-12 overall mark. After opening conference play with two wins over Temple and East Carolina, the Huskies have dropped eight straight matches. UConn is led by Kanya Cason with 2.70 kills/set. Brianna Datti leads defensively with 4.49 digs/set while Immanuella Anagu adds 0.96 blocks/set. The Huskies have been without the services of preseason all-conference selection Karson Ratliff who has not played a set this season. // UC vs. TEMPLE UC dropped a painful 3-0 decision at Temple on Oct. 10 in Philadelphia to go to 4-5 in the all-time series against the Owls. The first match between the two schools came back in 1982, a 2-1 UC victory. // SCOUTING THE OWLS Temple sits in third place in the conference after going 7-3 in the first half of play with a 16-6 overall mark. Sophomore Caroline Gratton has carried the load for the Owls, earning 3.52 kills/set from 644 total attempts. TU is third in the league in total digs thanks in part to junior libero Alyssa Drachslin who is tallying 4.65 digs/set this season.

3 NOTES // TRICK OR TREAT? The match against UConn Oct. 31 will represent the 17th Halloween match for the Bearcats. UC is 8-8 all-time on All Hallows Eve but has won the last five Halloween matches played in Fifth Third Arena. To celebrate the holiday, fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the arena and can participate in trick-or-treating on the concourse from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. RallyCats will host a costume contest during the intermission for the best costume. // BEARCAT CENTENNIAL Friday s match will also represent the 100th anniversary of the Bearcat mascot. The first reference to the Bearcat was used at a football game against the University of Kentucky on Oct. 31, // THE LAST TIME The Bearcats dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 decision on the road at East Carolina last Friday for their third consecutive loss. Junior Emma Roberson (Brooks, Ky./Evansville) hit a career-high 27 kills, 13 more than any other player, and added career-high numbers in digs (eight) and bocks (four) for Cincinnati. // STUFFING THE STAT SHEET The Bearcats rank among the top six teams in the conference in several statistical categories, including hitting percentage (fourth.215), assists (sixth 12.07/set), kills (sixth 12.87/set) and blocks (sixth 2.05/set). The junior smashed her previous career high of 19 kills with 27 on the night, 13 more than any other player in the match. She also set a new career high with eight digs and tied her career best with four blocks. // FRESHMAN PHENOM Freshman Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) made her collegiate debut 11 games into the season, appearing in two sets against Central Michigan on Sept. 20. She collected a career-high eight blocks in a 3-1 win over Tulane and was named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29, becoming the first freshman to win a player of the week award this season. // HAPPY 300th FIFTH THIRD ARENA Fifth Third Arena, home to the Bearcats volleyball team since 1989, celebrated its 300th UC volleyball match on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Bearcats beat UC Irvine 3-0 to cap off two straight wins in the arena.
