Lyon Selected Among 30 Candidates For Senior CLASS Award Goalkeeper Charlie Lyon is one of 30 candidates for the 2014 men s soccer Senior CLASS Award. The list is comprised of 30 NCAA Division I seniors who have notable achievements in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. Tabbed as the nation s premier award for NCAA senior studentathletes, the Senior CLASS Award highlights outstanding student-athletes, while encouraging students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. The 2014 list of men s soccer candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 individuals will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will then be distributed through a nationwide voting system to fans, coaches and media. Nortey Makes 2014 Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List Redshirt junior forward C. Nortey, an All-BIG EAST First Team selection and the active team leader in career goals scored, was one of 32 men s players to earn a spot on the 2014 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List at the start of this season. The Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious award in Division I college soccer, and has been given to the most outstanding male and female player each year since The NSCAA member coaches will narrow that list to 15 semifinalists near the end of the season. The top three vote getters will then be announced as finalists in early December, and will be invited to the trophy presentation banquet on Jan. 9, 2015, at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, where the winner will be announced.
