. Data Analysis Exercise WLTP-DTP-5-5 () Study on the possible threshold speed for L/M/H April 5 th DTP Meeting Possible Threshold Chi-square value other parameter Determine the threshold speed for L/M/H WLTP-DHC Secretary 7
. Data Analysis Exercise WLTP-DTP-5-5 (5) Develop the harmonized cycle - April 5 th DTP Meeting Mode construction L+M+H = 8 s L =xxx s M = yyy s H =zzz s L : M : H = based on traffic volume If high phase duration is not enough long for stable sampling, divide into L+M and H mode construction. 9 . Data Analysis Exercise WLTP-DTP-5-5 (5) Develop the harmonized cycle - April 5 th DTP Meeting V-A Distribution confirmation on other parameter It was observed that Low/Middle phase are well represent the all region, however, high phase need additional treatment due to different characteristics. WLTP-DHC Secretary 9
. Data Analysis Exercise WLTP-DTP-5-5 April 5 th DTP Meeting (6) Summary Proposed methodology (refer to WLTP-DHC-6-3e.rev) works well to develop the harmonized cycle. Data conversion to L/M/H category is MUST to have similarity of each region. Difference in high phase is still observed among US/EU and other regions. supplemental treatment is required. Proposals for OIL, 3 and will be presented during next DHC meeting (on 6 ACEA office in Brussels). Initial harmonized cycle can be developed no later than the middle of July once OIL, 3 and were fixed during next WLTP-IG (in Geneva). Regional weighting factors for L/M/H phase might be necessary to represent each region driving behavior. WLTP-DHC Secretary
3. Open Issues - WLTP-DTP-5-5 April 5 th DTP Meeting 3 5 Issues Discussion points Proposed Actions Deadline for submission of driving data Regional Weighting when developing the WLTC Threshold Speed for L/M/H High Phase Cycle Construction (US&EU versus other regions) Mode Construction a) India and China requested deadline be extended to May a) traffic volume CPs to submit as much data by end of Jan as possible. Propose to AC3 that only data submitted by deadline be used??. Compress possible work elements to accommodate delay. b) same weighting Wait for initial analysis, then make a decision during 7 th DHC meeting a) according to DHC-6-3 b) CP s requirement a) only ONE unified cycle b) possess TWO types of High phase cycle a) cold start test only b) cold start & hot soak start Wait for initial analysis, then further discussion is necessary before developing the st WLTC After developing the st WLTC, further analysis is necessary during the validation WLTP-DHC Secretary
3. Open Issues - WLTP-DTP-5-5 April 5 th DTP Meeting Issues Discussion points Proposed Actions Unique Weighting Factor for L/M/H Phase Gear Shift Points How to treat the vehicles which are not able to follow the prescribed cycle Check the driving profile based on the vehicle characteristic a) harmonized weighting factors b) permit regional weighting factors a) fixed points b) based on vehicle specification c) others a) continue to drive with wide-open-throttle b) exempt the H (or M&H) phase(s) c) others After developing the st WLTC, check the representativeness for each region. JARI, JRC and Mr. Steven work together to finalize the method before developing the st WLTC. Develop the proposal during validation tests. Analyze the in-use data based on vehicle characteristic (i.e. power to mass ratio) WLTP-DHC Secretary
