This year the event will commence with a Thanksgiving Service at Tewkesbury Baptist Church, Station Road, Tewkesbury by kind permission of Reverend Bill O Leary. b. After the Service, the parade will form up outside the Holy Trinity Church in Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury, and then march to Sun Street, via Oldbury Road, Nelson Street, Barton Street and High Street, with a salute being taken outside the Town Hall by the Mayors of Tewkesbury Borough and Tewkesbury Town. A map of Tewkesbury can be found at Appendix 2 to this order. 2. Command 3. Timings a. The parade will be commanded throughout by S/Lt (SCC) Tristan Cooper RNR Commanding Officer (Tewkesbury Sea Cadets). All units attending the Thanksgiving Service at Tewkesbury Baptist Church are requested to assemble at the church at 1415hrs for a 1430hrs service. Following the service units are asked to proceed to Oldbury Road where the parade will form up as in previous years. Approximate timings are as follows: 4. Dress 1600hrs Parade forms up in line, facing Holy Trinity Church, at Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury. 1605hrs Parade steps off for the march to Sun Street 1615hrs - Approximate timing for salute outside The Town Hall. 1625hrs Parade halts in Sun Street and is dismissed. a. Dress for the parade will be determined by each parading contingent s own rules and regulations. It should be noted that medals are to be worn by all persons entitled to do so. b. All parading organisations are invited to parade their Standards or Banners as applicable. These will form up outside the entrance of the church to form a Guard of Honour for the arrival of Borough and Town Mayors, and invited guests. Standards will then be placed in the entrance to the church and Standard Bearers will be seated in the rear row of the church so that they are well placed to resume the Guard of Honour at the end of the Service prior to the Mayors leaving.. 1 OF 7

2 5. Words of Command A list of necessary Words of Command is given at Appendix 4. Contingent Commanders should make themselves fully conversant with the content of this document. 6. Band The parade will be led throughout by the Band of 614 (Lydney) Squadron, Air Cadets, by kind permission of their Officer Commanding Flt Lt Paul Beard RAF VR(T) (To be confirmed). 7. Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather, separate orders will be issued on the day. 8. Car Parking Ample parking is available at the Cascades Swimming Pool car park, off Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury. This car park and others are shown on the map of Tewkesbury at Appendix 1 are controlled by Tewkesbury Borough Council, and all persons using them will have to pay parking charges as Tewkesbury Borough Council will not suspend charges for the day. 9. Insurance All organisations taking part in the parade and church service are responsible for making their own arrangements with regard to insurance cover for their members. Persons who are not taking part as members of an organisation are responsible for their own insurance arrangements. 10. Police should carry out Traffic Direction duties. However, contingent commanders to be constantly aware of the ongoing traffic situation and react accordingly. 7 sprains correct warm-up exercises before playing. 6 Cuts and lacerations i.e. from exposed snares Visual check of equipment is made by staff member before issue to Cadets. 8 Parading Personnel Fatigue All contingent commanders to be aware of the possibility of marchers suffering from fatigue and to plan safety actions accordingly. 9 Weather Conditions Hypothermia, chills, wet clothing Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stress, Sun Stroke In the event of extreme weather the Parade Commander is to make a Dynamic Risk Assessment regarding the welfare of persons on parade. If the risk would be to the detriment of the health and safety of the parading personnel, the march will be cancelled and persons will be directed to make their way direct to Holy Trinity Church..
