On the day of the Walkathon, arrive promptly at the location you checked off, buses won t wait. A bus will take you to one of the parking lots at the Walkathon, and you will be directed to the sign-in tables. After the Walkathon, go to the Walkathon parking lot where you were dropped off and a bus will take you back to Westgate or Bias Faiga - the one which you checked off on the registration form. Those who are using private transportation, please use the second parking lot on Vine St. (coming from Oak). We ask that every girl use this great way of getting to and from the Walkathon. This will save you and your parents lots of time that would be spent waiting to get in and out of the parking lots. Did you ever hear anyone say, WOW! That is such an amazing chessed organization! Well, that s exactly how everyone describes Yad Rachel. When a mother gives birth to a new baby, it is a huge brocha and simcha. Sometimes, a mother can have difficulty after having a baby and it can be really hard for the family. Yad Rachel helps the mother get better. We also help the children and the father. THIS CHESSED MUST CONTINUE! THIS IS WHERE YOU AND THE WALKATHON COME IN! What is the Walkathon? IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COLLECTING: Do not bang on people s doors or knock for a long time. People will be happier to give more if you knock nicely and ask politely. Be considerate to everyone and act respectfully at all times. Read all signs on doors about collecting and follow instructions. Be responsible and keep the envelope with the money you collect in a safe place. Remember to say tizku l mitzvos when someone gives you a donation. Aim for the highest level. HATZLOCHA RABBOH! Yad Rachel depends on the annual Walkathon as its main fundraising event, so it s up to YOU to ensure that they are able to do everything they can for the families in our community. The Walkathon is an exciting, rewarding event in the park where you join hundreds of girls walking for a great mitzvah. You will begin the walkathon by handing in the money you collected, and receiving your amazing prizes. Then you will follow the walkathon track to exciting prizes and nosh! (psssst. everyone s a winner every time!) There will be more prizes, and an amazing show! All this, while doing a great big mitzvah helping Yad Rachel help families in Lakewood. For more information or for donations you can visit us at 1 Ask your family, friends and neighbors to sponsor you as much as they can. Remember, all your frinds are collecting too. Be creative! You can even call people from out of town. the more money you raise, the higher your prize level will be. 2 In order to join the Walkathon, every girl must raise at least $35. Keep all you money in the envelope and keep careful track of how much you raised so far. 3 Any 2 girls collecting together must raise a minimum of $70. 4 Collect the money on the spot. You should not go back again to collect the money. 5 You must bring all the money you raised to the Walkathon. Make sure to add up the total amount you raised and have the information filled out on the envelope. Please try not to bring coins (trade them for dollar bills). 6 There are four levels in the Walkathon. You will be included in one of these four levels, based on how much money you raised. 1 Arrive on time at the bus location that you selected on your preregistration form. 2 When you arrive at the park go directly to the registration table for up to $100 or more than $100 and hand in your envelope of money. 3 If you did not register by the deadline, you can still join the Walkathon. However, you will not be eligible for the free playground ball, and you will need to sign in at the NO-REGISTRATION table. (It is important to register so that we won t run out of supplies.) 4 At registration everyone will get her prize. You can only choose one prize. You may choose from your level or a lower one. 5 After you sign in, you are ready to Walk! There will be staff there guiding you to the path. They will let you know when you should start and stop walking. 6 Please look over the prize list of your level before you come, so that you are familiar with the prize that you would like. Prizes will be given out at the Walkathon. 7 In case we do not have any more of the prize you want, you will hand in your prize form and you will be called when your prize is available for pick up or delivery.
