Competition Regulations - Gymnasts Membership Gymnasts must have Scottish Gymnastics membership in order to enter a competition, appropriate to the level they intend to compete at. Gymnasts competing at NDP 6 and above should hold SG/BG silver or above membership with all others holding Bronze membership. It is the responsibility of the gymnast s club to ensure that each gymnast has the appropriate level of membership. Once a gymnast reaches National A in TPD they are also required to complete the BG Medical Classification pack. In normal circumstances, gymnasts should also be a member of an SG registered club. In exceptional cases, where a gymnast does not belong to a SG registered club they must contact the performance department and may be allowed to enter the event. Such gymnasts will be given the classification of being Unattached. In such cases the gymnast must meet all other membership requirements. Gymnast Attire Gymnasts competition dress should be in line with the TTP regulations outlined in appendices. Gymnasts Code of Conduct Clothing indicating National Team representation should not be worn by gymnasts or coaches at domestic competitions. Gymnasts must not remove leotards until they are in the competitors' seating area. Any gymnasts found breaking this rule will receive a deduction for an attire violation in accordance as per FIG code of points. During march round, gymnasts are expected to proceed neatly and in line as directed by competition officials. All competitors are expected to enter the arena smartly dressed. Gymnasts should wear either a zipped club tracksuit or leotard. Non-uniformed t-shirts and outdoor shoes are not accepted for march on. All bags and equipment relating to performance should be stowed at the gymnasts seating area. Gymnasts should ensure that long hair is tied back, and any tattoos are covered up. No jewellery, body piercing or adornments of any kind are permitted in training or competition. Gymnasts will not be allowed to compete at any Scottish gymnastics event with jewellery on. Gymnasts are expected to maintain high standards to behaviour at all times showing respect for their fellow competitors, competition officials and coaches. Tiebreak Rule All trampoline and DMT competitions will use the FIG tiebreak rule. This is automated within Swescore In case of a tie in points at any place in the Qualification Round, the ranking will follow the criteria below. If there is still a tie the tie will not be broken. Individual Trampoline 1. The gymnast with the higher sum of the E-score of both routines prevails. 2. The gymnast with the higher sum of the T-score of both routines prevails. Double Mini-Trampoline 1. The gymnast with the higher sum of the E-score of both passes prevails. 2. The gymnast with the higher sum of the E-score of the 2nd pass prevails. Finals in all disciplines In case of a tie at any place the tie will not be broken. 7

Competition Regulations - Coaches Membership Coaches accompanying gymnasts must hold a SG/BG Gold membership. Assisting coaches must hold a minimum silver or gold membership in line with their current coaching qualification. Coaches without an up-to-date Safeguarding certificate and a current Disclosure (PVG) Record accessed through Scottish Gymnastics will not be eligible to take gymnasts on to the competition floor or accompany gymnasts to events. Safeguarding must be renewed every three years and must be valid both at the time of entry and through to the end of the event. Coaches must also hold a valid PVG certificate both at the time of entry through to the end of the event. Coaches who are substituting on the day of competition must provide a copy of their PVG, Safeguarding Certificate and SG/BG membership card at registration, otherwise they will not be permitted onto the competition floor. Coaching Practice When submitting entries for an SG event, clubs must ensure that the nominated Supervising Coach (es) is/are qualified to the level of the participant s performance. The practice of supervising participants working above the level of the coach s qualification is not allowed. It is the clubs responsibility to ensure these rules are being adhered to. The caveat that permits coaches to practice one level above their coaching qualification in the coaching syllabus refers to a training environment only and is not permitted at SG Events. Supervising Coaches have a duty of care towards their gymnasts and have responsibility to ensure that they are both qualified and competent to teach at the appropriate level, as well as ensuring that the participant is adequately prepared, physically and psychologically, for performing his/her routines in a competition situation. If it is found that a club is in breach of these policies, SG reserves the right to reject an entry on the grounds of gymnast safety. The Chair of Judges for each competition Panel has a duty to challenge unsafe practice but the ultimate responsibility on the competition floor is with the coach. In extreme cases, where a coach does not respond to the concerns being expressed, the Chair of Judges could stop the gymnast competing, disqualify them and remove the coach from the competition floor. Failure to adhere to these regulations will result in the withdrawal of the gymnast and is likely to negate the coach s Gymnastics Insurance. Coaches Code of Conduct Coaches are expected to maintain a high standard of dress. Standard dress would include trainers, fulllength tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt or polo shirt and tracksuit top / fleece identifiable with their own club logo. Coaches should ensure that long hair is tied back, and must ensure that all jewellery is removed (or adequately covered up) and any tattoos are covered up. Small stud earrings and wedding bands are permitted. Coaches are not permitted to use mobile phones or any other electronic communication devices including tablets, to make calls, take photographs/video footage or be used for any other forms of main communication whilst on the competition floor. Coaches must ensure that their language and behaviour at all times is appropriate, reflecting highly on their club, themselves and the sport. Coaches are not permitted to eat or chew whilst on the competition floor. Coaches are expected to show respect for their fellow coaches and competition officials at all times. 8

Competition Regulations - Officials Membership Judges must hold current SG/BG membership in line with the level they are qualified to. Judges should be suitably qualified and experienced for the competition at which they have been nominated. Although it is not mandatory, it is considered to be good practice for officials to attend safeguarding. Any official who has a dual role as a coach within a club must have valid PVG and safeguarding as stated above. Coaches, officials and gymnasts should carry current membership cards to all competitions and be prepared for these to be checked by the competition organiser or their appointed officials. Process When you are completing the entry form, once you have entered two competitors on the sheet you must fill in the name of your suitably qualified official in the judge space provided in order to enter any more competitors. Please include their judge grade in full and availability. Once you reach six entries, you must fill in the name of your second official in the second judge space. This official need not be a qualified judge but needs to be competent at their specified job. Once you reach ten competitors you must fill in your third official (who must be a qualified judge) and so on according to the chart in the Competition Officials section. Suitable Officials With entries of 3 competitors and above, you will be required to provide a judge (Club Grade or above). Unqualified officials (2 nd official) i.e. marshals, spotter co-ordinators, computer and manual recorders, must be suitably experienced. The judging coordinator has a right to refuse an unqualified/inexperienced official and ask the team manager of the club concerned to replace that official. At the discretion of the judging coordinator, extra judges wishing to gain experience are welcome to sit on or by the panel and shadow judges. Please contact the judging coordinator in advance to arrange this. Unqualified officials wishing to gain experience in other areas may also be allowed to do so. Clubs are required to provide the correct number of officials for the whole day. If your club wishes to split a job between two officials, this is acceptable providing the judging coordinator is informed of this before the competition day on the entry form. New Clubs Nominating Officials New clubs do not have to provide qualified judges for the first calendar year in which they compete (e.g. April to April, not just one season). New clubs should, however, try to provide unqualified officials and if submitting three or more gymnasts must provide at least one unqualified official (marshals, spotter co-ordinators, computer and manual recorders). Penalties There will be a 50 fine per missing official if the correct number of officials are not provided. If one of a club s selected officials does not turn up at the competition and the club has no suitable substitute, the TTP reserves the right to fine the club 50 per missing official. This also includes reserve officials from a club who may be called on at any point in the day to help. Clubs having problems organising their officials should contact the judging coordinator at least two weeks before the competition closing date to discuss possible solutions. 9

The number of officials that clubs are required to provide for competitions is listed below: Number of Entries Number of Officials to be Nominated 1 2 competitors None (but officials will be gratefully accepted) 3 5 competitors One judge (Club Grade or above) 6 9 competitors Two officials (one of which must be a judge at Club Grade or above) competitors Three officials (two of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) competitors Four officials (two of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) competitors Five officials (three of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) competitors Six officials (three of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) competitors Seven officials (four of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) competitors Eight officials (four of which must be judges at Club Grade or above) 40 competitors and over Requirements continue at same ratio as outlined above with at least half of the officials being suitably qualified judges. Reserve Officials Reserve officials are expected to be at the competition, in the appropriate uniform, and report for duty at 9am (or other time stated on the competition programme) with all other officials. If reserves are not required as all officials have turned up, and the reserve specifically wishes to judge or help, the TTP competition officer may make arrangements to accommodate them. Reserve officials are also welcome to shadow judges. Judge s Code of Conduct Judges are expected to march into the competition arena prior to the march in of the competing gymnasts, unless notified otherwise. Judges should keep their tables clean and only have on the table items required for judging, keeping all outdoor clothing and bags stored out of sight. Judges are required to stay at their judging table until gymnasts have marched out of the arena and stay at the venue until released by the Competition Organiser in case they are required to assist with the checking of scores. 10

General Regulations Registration Clubs must be signed in, by a coach suitably qualified to the required level for the club's gymnasts, at the registration desk. Please inform the registration desk of any withdrawals as soon as possible. ALL coaches must also sign in at the registration desk on arrival at the venue, where they may be required to produce their SG/BG membership card. Coaches must ensure they carry their SG/BG membership card at all times as proof of insurance. Order of Performance In order to maintain a smooth and timely running of the event or where the safety, security and good performance of the gymnasts is a concern, the TTP reserve the right to alter the start lists and/or time/commencement of the competition round as may be deemed necessary by the organiser or authorised officials.
