3 Atlanta United What troopers! It was a very warm game! Some of our little ones melted...but, the majority of our team were excited to play!!! I love seeing their smiles and how proud they are of themselves! Great job guys!!! Columbus Crew Columbus Crew did great this week even in the summer heat! We practiced dribbling and shooting and the kids really did well with this new skill during the game session. Great job team! FC Dallas The team in red had a lot of fun this past week and enjoyed playing in front of a huge crowd of our parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends. The sun was out, so we made sure to sub quickly and drink lots of water. Our stars of the game were Maire, Landon, Mason, Abigail, Nico, and Tyler on offense and Cody, Norah, Matthew, Valentina, Ava, Reilly, and Jacoby on defense. We are learning to play together as a team and we are looking forward to getting Noah back next Sunday! Portland Timbers Team did a great job this week! It was a hot one and everyone put in a great effort. Goals were scored by Sam, Nolan and Max. Kevin played some great defense and Calan and Ella had some great moves on offense. A special thanks to Coach Craig for filling in while Mike was away! NE Revolution Logan, Violet, and Harrison played fantastic games. Harrison was like an unstoppable force barreling down the field. Nate, Tommy, and Michael never stopped running. Joell and Great hustle by everyone. Logan and Myles and Summer stepped up their game. Atlanta United: Boy, was it a hot one! Despite the hot weather, everyone played their hearts out. Overall, it was a tough game as we played against two solid pillars of defense, but Nolan was able to blast one past to score our first goal of the game. Flora, Caleb and Tyler were fierce, fighting for and pushing the ball up the field. Tessa and Liam played a solid defense, pushing the offense to the outside. Great game had by all! Columbus Crew: Our second game of the season (without a practice in between) was just as exciting as the first! We saw Logan for the first time on the field and were impressed with his enthusiasm for the game. Both Emma and Grant were relentless in their efforts while Ashley and Travis kept the ball going in the opponents direction. Brady, Liam and Joseph stood out defensively while Jayla and Mason used their offensive skills to keep pressure on the other team. All in all, another good showing for the Columbus Crew! We will work on clearing the ball out of our zone and using the open space on the field to move the ball around and (eventually) into the goal. Thank you to the parents for the continued support... we love to hear you cheer for your player as well as the entire team! Go Columbus! 3
4 New York Red Bulls Team Red Bulls managed to keep their cool in the hot sun. It was awesome to see the group stringing together passes followed by some beautiful goals. Copper scored his first goal of the season off of a beautiful pass by Noah. Noah had a hat trick scoring 3 goals in the first half. Theodoore came inches away from putting the ball in the net from a beautiful pass from the midfield. As for the defense Ethan and Myles held the line clearing out anything that got in their way. Thanks for all the support from the parents. The kids love to hear you cheering them on. Coach Fred I are both happy with the team effort. Los Angeles FC LAFC played a phenomenal game in week 2! All of the kids showed some great energy on a very hot day! The kids played a great defense with our new addition Woodens being a tremendous help! Dylan, Sophia and Caitlin were a great combination on offense creating many opportunities. Andrew and Ben helped create a few offensive opportunities by stopping the opponents and pushing the ball forward. Dalton and Tyler played some great soccer on both offense and defense and Kyla was able to score her first goal of the season with her hard work and pressure. The coaches are proud of how well the kids played this week and how they are coming together as a team. We look forward to another great effort next weekend! Great job LAFC! Houston Dynamo Houston Dynamo had an impressive showing on the soccer field in week 2. Kyle and Evan scored goals and were aggressive on offense sniffing out lots of scoring opportunities. Ella and Yunus made tons of plays on defense taking away the opponents scoring chances with some nice hussle. Rowan played a good back and forth game covering the whole field as the mid fielder. There was Great energy all around from all of our players and we hope to build off of that heading into week 3. Great game Dynamo!! FC Dallas The kids are playing and having fun while showing good sportsmanship everyday. Good job Dallas NE Revolution I love that the boys are understanding field positions and their jobs more and more! It makes working together as a team that much easier! They really did GREAT this week with subbing in and out and knowing where to go. This is huge!!! I m so proud of all of their hard work! Go Revs Minnesota United It was hot, but Minnesota United gave it their best. It's exciting that we now are using goalkeepers, and everyone is excited to give it a try. 4
5 North Carolina Courage The Courage girls played excellent. Izzy, Hannah, and Kate all took turns in goal, not allowing one score. Ashlynn took a stepout of her comfort zone and played great offense. Meghan and Lucy provided strong support in the backfield. Despite the heat, the girls played hard and had a great time. Utah Royals Great game by Utah scoring 7-0 goals by Parker, Lexi and Madison the team played great defense with awesome goal keeping by Jari in the first half and Madison in the second half. Portland Timbers The Timbers had a great game even though it was super hot! William did an amazing job in goalie, saving some hard shots. Zachary and Gabriel held the team down playing excellent on both offense and defense. Adrian and Lucas showed a lot of heart while playing great defense. Orlando vs Utah Atlanta United Atlanta United 3/4 boys welcomed Nabeel to the team this week, who played an excellent first half at goalie. Aiden lost a tooth, handed it to a coach, and kept on rolling. Ethan displayed some nifty footwork, scoring a goal along with Fred, Hamzeh, and Dillion. Sky Blue vs Washington 5
6 Sky Blue FC Good game. Great saves by Sam and Emma. Nice work both defensively and offensively by Lena, Dabria, Rilee, Paide, Ishana, Ocean, Caitlin and Gianna. Utah Royals The Royals never quit against a great Courage team. But in the end, the lack of practice is showing. There's a lot of heart to this team which is something we will build on in the coming weeks if mother nature allows us to spend some time working on our skills. North Carolina Courage The heat was on! Literally what a hot day and these girls were on fire! The hot weather did not stop these girls. North Carolina Courage girls defeated Utah Royals 7-1. Erica and Lily owned the field in offense playing their hearts out scoring all of our team goals. Our defense was unstoppable. Monica and Ashlyn both played defense this week and did a great job keeping the ball away from our goalies and passing the ball back to our offense side. Calleigh played strong offense and defense this week and really showing us what she is capable of. These girls are really starting to work together and it shows. Can't wait dor next week! Columbus Crew Great team work! Minnesota United Great hustle and energy by Minnesota United. We were facing a team with a very strong defense, but our team still made several valiant attempts to pass and score. Our goalkeepers Ryan and Christopher made several great saves! Sawyer sped down the field for a fantastic breakaway goal. Ultimately we lost by just one goal but the United fought hard and played with spirit. NE Revolution Lazarus had an amazing game in goal (his first time as a keeper), stopping almost everything that came his way! Atlanta United Wow! What a great(warm) game!!! This team is incredible! It has a strong balance of offense and defense which makes it easy to sub players in and out! Our goalies, Brodie and Nathan, are amazing! Derek and Lindsay held constant pressure on the opposing team. Adam scored 4 goals(four!), Brayden scored 2 and Olivia and Wheaton each scored 1. But... no goal is a one man effort. It takes a team. And this team is pretty fantastic Minnesota United A much better performance this week from our team. Goals from Zoila and Derek kept the game close in the first half, but we ran out of gas in the second. 6
