1 Group Section Stage 2012 E.P.S.S.A. Inspector s Cup Competition This will take place at Wardie Playing Fields on Saturday 21 st April am 11am. The Group Section Stage will consist of 10 groups playing on 10 different and designated pitches. Most groups will consist of 4 different teams some may have 3 in. Group games will commence at 9.00 am until 11am The duration of each game will be 15 minutes. 7 1/2 minutes each way. Teams MUST register at the Cup Desk by 8.30 a.m. One team from each group (not two as originally stated) will proceed to the next round. Each team will be allowed a maximum of 10 players roll on/roll off substitutions. A coordinator / ref will be appointed to each pitch/group please report the score to your pitch/group coordinator at the end of each game. 3 points will be awarded to the winning team and one point each for a drawn game. In the event of two teams sharing the same number of points and goals for then goals against will be recorded to determine the group winner. PLEASE REFER AND BE AWARE OF THE RULES and ETHOS AT THE END OF THIS PAPER Order of group games will be communicated on the day. The duration of games for this round will be 20 minutes (10 mins each way) The winners from each group will go through to play in the semi - final on 15 th May. Group A Group B

4 Winners of Group 1 Winners Group 2 Winners of Group 3 Winners Group 4 Winners of Group 5 Winners Group 6 Winners of Group 7 Winners Group 8 Winners of Group 9 Winners Group 10 INSPECTOR S CUP SEMI -FINAL This will take place at Meggetland Playing Fields on the evening of Tuesday 15th May These group games will take place from 6.00 p.m. prompt and completed by 7.10 p.m. on 2 pitches Teams MUST register at the Cup Desk by 5.30 a.m. The duration of games for this round will be 60 minutes (30 mins each way) The winners from each semi will go through to play in the final on Wednesday 20 th June Semi final 1 Semi final 2 Winner of Group A vs Runner up Group B Winner of Group B vs Runner up Group A INSPECTOR S CUP FINAL Winner of first Semi v Winner of second Semi The Finals Night (Inspectors, School Board and E.P.S.S.A. Cups) will be played at Warriston Playing Fields on Wednesday 20th June Edinburgh Primary School Football Rules and Ethos: Primary School football has always been played in the true spirit of the game and to ensure this continues, the President s Committee has drawn up the following points to note: Football representatives are responsible for familiarising themselves with the rules and regulations. Any doubts or uncertainties must be checked out and agreed before games commence. Goalkeepers may kick or throw the ball out as preferred. However, in an effort to prevent long passes, they should be encouraged to restrict throw outs or

5 kick outs to their own half of the pitch. An indirect free kick will be given where the ball lands if it is kicked or thrown over the half way line. Goal kicks must be kicked from a dead ball situation from anywhere in the penalty box. Goalkeepers attempting to gather the ball by hand may not be challenged. Players must clear the box as soon as the goalkeeper has possession. The off side law does not apply. Players shall use throw ins to re-start the game (re-take if necessary). On all occasions when the game is started or restarted, opposing players must be at least 5 metres away from the ball. All free kicks will be indirect. Penalty kicks shall be taken 7 metres away from the goal line. The ball shall be re-centred after a goal has been scored. A size 4 football must be used. Each participating team should bring a match ball to each game. If a player is cautioned or sent off, it is the referee s duty to inform the allocated coordinator immediately after the game has finished. At the end of each match players MUST line up and shake hands. At the end of each game team coaches should make the allocated coordinator aware of the score. Thank you for your help and support.
