2. Minutes of Last Meeting The minutes of the June AGM and Committee meeting had been circulated by JMH prior to the meeting. Agreed as a correct record JMH to upload to website 3. Matters Arising (not addressed elsewhere on the agenda) None 4. Team Updates JDS / U9 - DS has previously requested a coach for the junior players, so that he can focus more on more technical coaching for the U9s. - Although recently offered a coach, DS felt a more experienced one was necessary. - MH from the SDS offered to take the JDS players and would approach Lora Speak (captain of the SDS) to assist him. - The new arrangement will commence on Monday 8 th August DS has previously mentioned that players aged 8 and under would benefit from the club running a Saturday Club at an indoor venue somewhere in Burnley. U11 - JMH reported that 18 players were signed, with 4 on a training only basis. U12 - Nothing to report U13 - Nothing to report. U14 - CMC reported that 16 players were signed, with one new player due to join soon. U15 - BC reported that some of the girls who left last season are looking to return to the team. Two (ID and EM) have recently returned to training. - BC would like the team to play in the WLGFL 11-aside league if at all possible. JL/JMH explained that the previous manager had entered them into the 9-aside league due to the loss of players. - BC and DMC are looking at the possibility of dualsigning players. U16 - The LFA found Haslingden guilty of fielding an ineligible player against Burnley earlier in the season. As a result the NVL reversed the result of this fixture and Haslingden was docked a further point meaning JMH to contact DS to confirm these arrangements are OK MP to see if BFCITC can host a Saturday Club JMH to write to the WLGFL to see if team could play 11-a-side games in 2016/17 2
that Burnley are now confirmed as the NVL U15s Champions. - Unfortunately the girls have missed out on the presentation evening arranged by the league. - JMH is looking to secure the medals and trophies from the NVL (not proving to be easy) and the club will look to put something on for the girls. U18 - Nothing to report. SDS - 3G Pitch at The Prairie for Thursday 28 th July has been privately funded. First Team - Nothing to report. 5. Chairman s Report (b) West Lancashire Girls Football League JL and BT had attended the June AGM on behalf of the club. The key points were as follows: In 2016/17 all referees will score teams under the fair play rules. First week of the 2016/17 Season will be 10/11 September. All registration cards must be with the league at least 14 days prior to these dates to guarantee they will be returned. There will be a fine if cards are not available at a game and the points will be lost. In 2015/16 the club received in fines across all leagues. Disappointing but a reduction on previous years. The WLGFL made a 1,500 loss in 2015/16, but this is largely attributable to the league hiring the 3G pitches at the JMO Sports Park in Skelmersdale to get games postponed because of the weather played. Burnley FC in the Community SLA has now been agreed and signed-off by both parties (see item below). There will be a period of transition until the appointment of the Female Football Development Officer (October?) when things should start to settle down. BFCITC have invited 8 of the girls from our U5-U18 year old teams to attend the Premier League Launch in Islington on Wednesday 10 th August Secretary s Report North Valley & Burnley Unity Youth Football League JMH noted that the league would be hosting its player registration evening at Burnley Cricket Club on Monday 8 th July
(b) (c) (d) (e) Registrations for 2016/17 Season JMH circulated BFC and WLGFL Player Registration forms for the 2016/17 Season to all managers in May. They are also available on the club website. The Managers and Coaches form is also on the website. Clubs should retain the linesmen cards issued last season. Players who have not completed a BFC Player Registration form and returned it to the Club Secretary are NOT insured under the terms of the clubs insurance policy and should not play in league or cup competitions. Registration Forms can be completed in advance of the Player Registration / Kit Collection night on Thursday 28 th June, but blank copies will be available for completion on the night. Charter Standard Registration process completed by JMH in May via the Whole Game System website. Club has received confirmation that it has retained its Charter Standard status for 2016/17. JMH reported the need for the club to keep on top of the managers and coaches qualifications and certifications in the coming season. BT has ordered the free McDonalds strip in Claret and in sizes that would typically fit 11/12/13 year old players, where there is currently the greatest concentration of players. Affiliation Affiliation process completed by JMH in June via the FA Whole Game System website. Club has received confirmation that it has been successfully affiliated with the Lancashire FA for the 2016/17 Season. The new affiliation number is: S-LAN1284 Audit of Club Equipment JMH reported that all teams, with the exception of the First Team, had now returned their forms. The new equipment required for the 2016/17 had been identified and the information was passed to CMC to place the order. MP agreed to see if BFCITC could source any of the required items cheaper than through the existing agreement with Samba Sports. In particular the club would like to source better quality training balls than last year s Mitre Impala. Many managers had reported throughout the year that the latest batch of Mitre training balls had been of a poor quality ball. Three teams require parts to replace damaged items on their goals. CMC agreed to liaise with MP to see if we can get a better price/quality via ordering with BFCitC CMC will place overall equipment order within the next two weeks 4
(f) Recruitment JMH advised that in response to requests received from several managers a soft launch had been made on the club website and through its social media accounts. Generic junior and open age posters are available to download from the club website should anyone want to try to place them in their school, local dentist etc. MS was looking to place an article/advert in the local press. Recruitment most needed in JDS, U10s (no team), U15, U18 and SDS. MS to prepare and distribute article to local press 8. Treasurer s Report (b) Accounts Income for June = 3, (includes 1,050 Grow The Game grant from the Football Foundation) Expenditure for June = 2, Closing Balance = 18, Large payment pending 8,810 for training kits has been debited in July. A further 800 in cheques are also pending debit. JL confirmed all accounts would be handed over to CMC on 1 st August Subscriptions JL expressed concern that subscription payments in June were down. Subscription payments are calculated over the full 12 month period. Players that do not train over the summer due to other commitments, or are injured for an extended period, should continue to pay the full by standing order and request the money back from the club using the Claim Form. JL re-stated that the Club Constitution states that any player who is two or more months in arrears should be prevented from playing until the amount owing is cleared or an acceptable arrangement has been put in place. JL to finalise subs for July and hand over the accounting workbook to CMC JL to send all managers a separate summary of June and July subs. Managers will make first contact with parents where this fails JL/CM to send more formal request. 8. Burnley FC in the Community Service Level Agreement Sub group had met to consider the draft supplied by BFCITC. JL and CMc had subsequently met with Paul France (Deputy CEO) to discuss. Final agreed version signed by JL and JMH was handed back to BFCITC on 18 th July 2016; and signed by Paul France. Until the Female Football development officer is appointed it is our understanding that it is Business as Usual, but that following the appointment several roles will transfer to BFCITC. Some initial confusion over role of BFCITC and BFCGL with regard to the costs agreed for Winter Training at The Prairie JL to discuss interim position with Paul France and establish clear governance regarding decision making and 5
from September 2016 to April 2017 had hopefully been addressed, but JL looking to establish and agree clear guidance on responsibilities in the transition period. partner/stakeholder engagement 10 Player Registration & Kit Collection Evening CM confirmed the organisation of the event. Confirmed that parents could not pick and mix sizes because they were ordered as a full kit. CM requested all managers make sure their parents are aware of the process and timings. All Managers to re-state to parents (JBu to pick up for BT) 11 Any Other Business Future relationship between U18s and Open Age teams Discussion around the movement of players between squads all managers agreed to work better together and to think about the impact on other squads if too many players moved teams MP stated his view was that girls shouldn t get to choose that this should be determined by current skill level and what is best for their overall development. GL agreed to make contact with some girls from other clubs where the team has folded to let them know that we are still recruiting. 12 Next Meeting Time: 19:00 Date: Tuesday 30 th August 2016 Venue: Casterton Suite, Prairie Sports Village, Windermere Avenue, Burnley, BB12 6SZ (Tel: ) Tuesday 27 th September th September 2016 Tuesday 25 th October 2016 Tuesday 29 th November 2016 Tuesday 20 th December 2016 Note in diaries 6
