2 THE PROGRAM The Tournament Division is managed by Olathe Youth Baseball, Inc. (OYBI). This league for players and teams who wish to participate in League play, while at the same time have weekend opportunities for tournament play. The OYBI Tournament Division is for teams that are considered A & AA with USSSA baseball (only). The Tournament Division will offer six grade specific divisions (Grades 3 through 8) for the Spring/Summer of Placement in these age divisions will be based on interest in that age group, but also limited to the number of teams in each age group. RULES & REGULATIONS OYBI will use Official baseball rules / USSSA rules with a few OYBI exceptions. These rules and exceptions will be detailed in the OYBI rulebook. Grades 4 through 8 will play full baseball rules with exceptions for pitching limitations and mercy rules / run spreads. OYBI believes in providing a learning environment so players can develop the hitting, pitching and fielding skills that will benefit them in the future. Therefore, along with pitching limitations and mercy rules, OYBI s 3rd Grade Tournament Division will have rule exceptions for lead-offs, dropped 3rd strike, and base running. REGISTRATION To participate in the Tournament Division, Team Managers must: Register their team, which will create a team identification number to be used by players when they register online. Complete the forms included with the Team Managers Packet. Submit the team s USSSA Registration number with the team roster (included in managers packet) Manager Registration begins on November 14, Attend the Team Manager meeting on January 16, 2019 at 7pm at the Olathe City Hall To participate in the Tournament Division, PLAYERS must: Be listed on a team roster which is submitted, by the Team Manager, to OYB Register online between Dec 15, 2018 Feb 15, 2019 using the Team Identification Number provided by the Team Manager. Players can NOT register without the Team Identification number REGISTRATION FEES The player registration fee is $160 per player for all age groups. As part of the team registration fees all teams will receive team liability and medical insurance. Game balls for league play will also be provided.

3 TEAM FORMATION Teams will be formed by grades. Divisions will be offered for players who are 3rd Grade through 8th grade. There will be no geographical boundary restrictions on the team formation process. Players will only need to meet either age or grade requirements to participate. Coaches must turn in a roster listing the players who are on their teams to the OYBI. The deadline for turning in team rosters is February 1, (Deadline) PRACTICES/GAMES Practice times will be provided in March. Teams will receive two practice times a week. Practice times will not be available once the season begins. Games will be played in Olathe at Prairie Center Park and/or Black Bob Park. The season will begin in April and end near the end of June. Teams will be scheduled to play a 14 game schedule. Teams will play 4 of the 14 games during the first weekend in June. All other games will be played Monday through Thursday. Awards will be given to the top two teams in each age division. LEAGUE AFFILIATIONS The Tournament Division will not be affiliated with USSSA baseball; however, all teams will need to be registered on-line with USSSA. Coaches are responsible for paying the team sanction fee to USSSA. UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT Teams will be responsible for providing their own uniforms and playing equipment. OYBI will provide game balls for league games only. Completion of this form, in its entirety, is required by OYB.
