1 Dear Sleepy Hollow Summer Theatre Auditioners, Thank you for sharing your talent and time with us during the audition process for the 2009 summer theatre season. There were an overwhelming number of those who had wonderfully talented auditions this year. It was very challenging to cast both shows and provide the most opportunity for all involved. With that said we were unable to fit everyone in this summer but strongly encourage you to audition again in the future and keep fine tuning the amazing skills you have to offer. Also, please consider being a part of the show in another capacity. As we said on our audition form we are always looking for people to help backstage. If you are interested please reply and let us know what area(s) you would like to be a part of. It is a very good opportunity to get involved and learn more about theatre. We strongly encourage your participation in all aspects of producing a musical. Attached are our cast lists. Please carefully look them over and check for your name. Some people will be on both cast lists or in multiple roles. Once you have read the rest of this letter please send your director(s) an with your official role acceptance. For those of you that will be joining us this summer please make sure the dates we provided below are on your calendar. We must all work together to be available and on time to scheduled events. If you have a conflict it is important to get those times to your director as soon as possible! June 1-5 Intensive Training Workshop (for those going into 5 th grade and up ONLY) 1-2PM for those entering 5 th -6 th grade 1-3PM for those entering 7-8 grade 1-4PM for those entering 9 th grade and up THE ABOVE TIMES ARE ONLY FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 1-5 June 8 rehearsal begins June 20 Performance and participation at Midsummer Celebration at Sleepy Hollow Park July 1 Tech week and rehearsals for Wizard of Oz begin at the park July 21 Strike for Wizard of Oz ALL must be in attendance July Set change and tech rehearsals for Into the Woods August 2 Final strike. Again, all must attend to get $50 check returned. Rehearsals will typically run as follows but they ARE subject to change: OZ: WOODS: 2-3 music 3-4 music 3-4 dance 4-5 dance, staging 4-6 staging 6-10 dance, staging For those of you in leading roles you will want to block off that time completely, other roles may not need to be there everyday. As we draw closer to our first rehearsal we will distribute a more detailed schedule.
2 One more note of business. As we stated at the information meeting and on the informational hand outs there is a program fee. They are as follows: Those entering 5 th -6 th Grade: $160 Those entering 7 th -8 th grade: $ 180 Those entering 9 th grade and up: $200 If you require a scholarship to participate please call Stephanie Delmore. We want everyone to have the opportunity to participate! We will be collecting this fee the first day of your Intensive Workshop. Included in the participation fee is a Family Season Ticket Membership this includes 4 tickets for the Hero Night dinner and The Wizard of Oz and 4 tickets to Into the Woods. If you require additional tickets volunteer opportunities are available for family members. The opportunity to share your talent with the public will be well earned after our rehearsal process! Again, we look forward to a fun summer. In the mean time please be courteous and contact our costumer, Stephanie Delmore (701) before you make any drastic hair, tattoo, piercing or tanning decisions. Thank you and we hope to see you soon be it on stage or backstage. As Shakespeare says; All the world s a stage!
