We hope you will find this helpful as we venture into the wrestling season! Helpful Parent Reminders! To sign up for REMIND, text to the PRACTICE REMINDERS: ALWAYS Park in the back and NO street shoes in prac ce area wrestling shoes or socks ONLY. Please help where you can set-up/clean-up; concessions; dona ons USA Cards: ($40 good for one year) If your child is wrestling in a tournament that is USA Card Required, you must have the USA Card with you at the tournament. Some USA tournaments do supply USA cards to purchase at the tournament. If you do this you must have the child's actual birth cer ficate. REMINDER! Singlets: SINGLETS! Must have a $50 Deposit - check payable to YMCA (will be returned at end of season) to receive a singlet. See Heidi Wi for agreement/ rental form. 2 January 7, 2019 In the news!! Mat Rats Compete in Two Tournaments January 5 & 6 Eleven Monroe Mat Rats competed in the Oregon Youth Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 5 at Oregon High School. This was a 4-person round robin tournament bracketed out by birth year and weight. For the birth year, Cole Meighan (73-77lbs) placed 2nd; Carson Menehan (85-87lbs) placed 1st; Connor Eckdahl (87-91lbs) placed 1st; and Payton Weckerly (97-105lbs) placed 4th. For the birth year, Althea Eckdahl (78-83lbs) placed 3rd; Wya Weckerly (80-86lbs) placed 4th; and Joah Wellman (95-100lbs) placed 3rd. For the birth year, Gage Ostby (48-50lbs) placed 3rd; Evelyn Eckdahl (55-59lbs) placed 4th; Oliver Helland (63-66lbs) placed 3rd; and Patrick Harms (75-80lbs) placed 1st. Gage Ostby (birth year , 50lbs) also par cipated in the Badger RTC Ba le for the Badger in Waunakee on Sunday, January 6 and placed 5th in a tough 10-Man Scramble bracket. Well done Mat Rats! Picture forms will be handed out the week of January 7th! TEAM/INDIVIDUAL PICTURE DAY: Monday, January 14 at 6pm for ALL wrestlers. Team t-shirts will be handed out that night! Please be on me! (the pictures will not be rescheduled) Remember the picture order form and money (check payable to Theresa Kind - see next page) Weigh-Ins for Mat Rat Tourney will also take place on Monday, January 14.
