CORRECTION The Summer Bulletn and Graduate Instructon Bulletn have gone to the press, not the General Bulletn as stated n last week's Bee Gee News. Senate Confrms Appontment Of E. E. Corell As Trustee Knght of Pythas Replaces Gebhard The Senate of Oho late last week confrmed the appontment of E. E. Corell, Grand Keeper of Records and Seal of the Knghts of Pythas, as trustee of B. G. S. U. The vacancy has exsted snce Aug. 31, 1937, when the term of A. L. Gebhard, of Bryan, expred. The other members of the board are L. N. Montgomery, of Tffn; E. B. Pedlow, of Lma; Mrs. Besse Dwyer, of Montpeler, and Mr. Prout, of Sandusky, Presdent of the Board. Born n Portsmouth n 1873, Mr. Corell came north n 1900, and has lved n Bowlng Green snce 190. In 1916, he was apponted Deputy Audtor, and n 1919 was elected county audtor. He was re-elected n 193. He was apponted to hs poston wth the Knghts of Pythas n 193, and has been elected tr-annually to the post snce then. Durng hs twelve years n the audtor's offce, he became very famlar wth the problems of schools, and he has mantaned an nterest n ther progress. Lutherans Favored Depte Maretta Lost Orange Fve Undecded Another tough cage assgnment faces Bowlng Green Unversty's Falcons Saturday nght when they take the road agan to meet Captal Unversty's strong cage fve at Loy gym n Columbus. Although much of the would-have-been mportance of the encounter wll not be there due to recent losses by both teams, the orange s especally pontng to the fracas as a matter of breakng ther so called away-from-home jnx as well as provng ther metal n upper dvson conference competton. Due to ther recent defeat by Otterben, the Falcons wll ente the fray as underdogs even though Captal's stock has fallen consderably as a result of ther crushng defeat at the hands of Maretta. Ths week the Falcon drlls were concentrated toward stoppng Capt. Ray Heschman and Paul Weaver of the Cap. fve who are ther top marksmen. Ths par constantly ple up ndvdual scores n the 'teens, and wll be very dangerous on ther home floor. The Falcons' lne-up, as always, wll not be decded before game tme, 8:16 Saturday. A wn wll do much to pull up the fallen prestge of the Landsmen and probably put them n a favorable poston to battle Wttenberg on even terms next Frday here. Captal's past record appears below: Captal ; Dcnson 30 Captal 3; Hedelberg 31 Captal 63; O. N. U. 1 Captal 3; Muskngum Captal 60; Kenyon 38 Captal ; Denson 38 Captal 37; Otterben 6 Captal 3; Maretta 6 Northern Next Tuesday Bee Gee won't be n for a breezer next Tuesday when they travel to Ada for a return game wth Oho Northern. 5 PAGE I SPORT SHAVINGS BY BOB BARON Durng: the md-semester recess there were, conservatvely sayng, about 76 fellows who ether because of jobs here, or the long dstance to ther homes, or because they lve n B. G. were n town all the tme. Havng nothng much to do, they looked around town Frday and Saturday for somethng to do. It was dscouragng to see many loafng up and down the streets for want of some recreaton and seeng many gathered n pool halls or drug store corners for the same reason. Why ddn't they come out to the campus and play on the unused gym, or n the watng hand ball courts? They couldn't, because the bg buldng was locked tghter than a bank vault I We don't know who closes up the gym on short holdays lke these and don't especally care. We only see the gym standng dle whle a good number of students have to just "lay around", starved for a lttle athletc recreaton. Over confdent and ll at ease n a small gym, the Falcons saw Ashland take the game nto ther own hands effectvely enough to hold a 0 to 1 lead at the half and a 13 pont margn at one pont n the second half. It was the accuracy of "Bg Jm" Zechman that saved the cause, for the mammoth forward hooped the leather for 10 ponts n the last half to gradually close the gap and help set the stage for Madaras' wnnng goal. The close vctory was expected to put new fght nto the Falcon camp snce they learned that Captal had been beaten, but Otterben was to blast ther hopes the next nght. Team Shades Ashland A sullen tone mngled n wth the gay exctement of returnng students Monday when they heard that Bowlng Green's Falcons had fallen before Otterben College Saturday nght 38 to 3 and out of the conference runnng as well. Bee Gee's old road jnx as well us the referee's foul whstle whch has haunted the Falcons all season, were at the game n full regala, and the orange and brown, easly the better team, took t on the chn agan. Zechman, Madaras, and Bshop were the Falcon warrors evcted from the courts, and ther absence at the crucal moments of the game proved the flocks' downfall. The fracus was closely fought wth the lead changng hands and beng ted twenty tmes. Otterben held a to 0 lead at the half, but the game was decded only n the closng mnutes.
