Costume Pickup Information When your family account is paid in full and you have signed up for your volunteer slot(s) on SignUpGenius your costume(s) will be distributed to your student. If there will be delay, please contact the office asap. NOTE: Some accessories - flowers, ribbons, and straps - need to be attached to the costumes by you at home. Volunteering at Showcase Rehearsals and Performances Contact Lauren Wray at pacificballetshowcase@yahoo.com for questions about volunteering. Families are sent SignUpGenius volunteer links. All class dance rehearsal/performance dates/times and volunteer responsibilities are listed on the individual SignUpGenius pages. Tickets Tickets can only be purchased through the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts online at or through the MVCPA ticket office There will be no ticket sales held at the studio. Tickets will all be assigned seats, so buy early to get the best seat! First come, first served! Dress Rehearsals Please note that "dress rehearsal" means that students should arrive dressed in costumes/hairpieces and have their hair done in a proper ballet bun (for girls). Levels Pre-Ballet through Level V should come to the studio and theater rehearsals and performances dressed and ready. No time or space is allotted to change into costume at the studio or at the theater. Makeup is NOT required for dress rehearsals. You can choose to send your dancer to the performances wearing blush and lipstick. We DO NOT provide makeup at the shows. 1 11

If not volunteering, please wait patiently outside or in your car and Check-Out your dancer with the volunteer when they are dismissed. Dancers in multiple dances: Once finished with a dance, you must pick up your dancer and bring she/he back for their next rehearsal time. It is not possible for the school to supervise your dancer between their multiple rehearsal times--that is parent responsibility. Please wait with your dancer. Remember- no eating in costumes. 5 Pacific Ballet Academy 2018 MVCPA Rehearsal and Performance Schedules 3/14/18 Theater Dress Rehearsal times are always approximate. Please arrive on time and be prepared to wait patiently during check in and check out. Volunteers must arrive earlier than the dancers. Dancers may not leave until they are dismissed by their teacher/choreographer. All dancers must check in at the Holding Room Door at the back of the theater EXCEPT LEVELS VI & VII go directly to assigned dressing rooms. Bring your dancer dressed and ready. Each Program (A, B, C, G) lasts between 40 minutes to 1 hour. Please do not delay in picking up your dancer. 6 3/14/18 Hair Instructions Dancers must arrive with their hair done in proper ballet bun. Use lots of bobby pins AND a hair net to keep the bun secure. No Scrunchies. Use hairspray and/or gel to keep hair tidy with no wisps. Bangs down are not allowed for dancers in Level 2 and up. Bangs cause shadows on the face under stage lights. Pre Ballet students may wear hair loose if it is very short. Makeup and Costume Instructions for Performances Pre Ballet through Level IV dancers should arrive with costumes and make up on. Makeup incudes light lipstick, eyebrow liner, mascara, and light blush. Glitter is never allowed! Level V through VII dancers are advised on what to bring and how to apply it. Emergency makeup is on hand for volunteers to use but there is no makeup/hair staff. What to Bring to the Theater Please bring a ballet bag with your child s name on it which contains: Water, an emergency pair of tights and dance shoes, hairbrush, safety pins, Kleenex, extra hair net, bobby pins, hair ties, and hairspray or gel. It is advised that you pack your child a book, deck of cards, or small game to play with while waiting their turn to dance. No beads or markers. Water is fine, but dancers should be careful not to spill on costumes. Label all clothing and items brought to the theater with your child s name. Please do not bring any valuables or electronics to the theater. Pacific Ballet Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Illness and Injury If a dancer is unable to participate in the performance because of illness, the dancer or parent must notify Mrs. Chaeff at (650) If the problem occurs less than three hours before stage time, call (650) to notify Mrs. Chaeff. Cast Replacements If a dancer cannot perform, an understudy or alternate in another class will be called to replace them. If your dancer is not scheduled to dance for a performance and will be not be at home, contact Marion Chaeff to advise her of your whereabouts. We may need to call your dancer in if there is an emergency. All solo dancers should check in at the theater an hour before performance times to make sure that their alternates have arrived. Check In and Check-Out All dancers must personally check-in at each theater dress rehearsal and each performance. Check-in sheets will be on the desk in the holding room at MVCPA for each rehearsal and performance. Levels VI & VI check in Back Stage. At the end of each performance, dancers will Check-Out through the same process. Parents should make sure their dancer has Checked-Out on the sheets. Quick Changes (QC) Dancers manage their own quick change! QC Staff will decide if your dancer indeed has a QC. Dancers requiring a QC between roles must check in with the QC staff before dress rehearsals and appropriate performance(s) and leave their costume in the QC area backstage. Speak with the QC volunteers to verify you are on the list. Food No food or gum or beverage other than water will be allowed backstage or near costumes at any time, even if you own the costume. Water fountains are available inside the theater. Dancers with medical conditions may eat outside on the porch area if parent volunteers are available to stay with the dancer and the dancer is not in costume volunteer resources of this kind are not built into the schedule. Feed dancers well BEFORE check-in that is best for dancers and volunteers. Feed your dancer between shows eat near the theater. No eating in costumes! Refresh dancer makeup and hair. Jewelry Personal jewelry including earrings of any sort, rings, necklaces, anklets, bracelets, and watches may not be worn during the rehearsals or performances. Please leave all valuables at home. No henna. No tattoos. Do not pierce your dancer s ears just before the performance, as earrings must be removed. Photography Parents may take photos at the Studio Dress rehearsals outside the studios. NO CAMERAS are allowed inside our studios, inside the theater, in the holding room, or backstage. MVCPA rules state that NO personal photographic or sound recording equipment may be used at or in the theater at any time. Our assigned photographers will take pictures and DVDs will be made of each performance available for purchase after the performances. Volunteers in the Wings at MVCPA Only dancers and assigned volunteers may work in the wings during these times. MVCPA has strict rules as to how many people can be in the wings. There is limited space in the wings for volunteers during performances. 6 66
