The students were competitive, well behaved and very supportive of their faction. The championship points was very close for several students and consequently we had two tied results. Thank you to the parents for supporting your children and even participating in the titanic struggle for glory in the tug of war events and running races. I would also like to thank the parent helper Amanda Orlando-Bayne and fantastic staff who assisted in the training, preparation and running of the carnival. The Faction points tally resulted in Gold faction dominating with 930 points followed by Blue 750, Green 739 and Red 612. Thank you to Jodie Jensen for her assistance as scorer and Kim Buchanan for helping to bring some equipment to the venue on Wednesday. Mrs Simon, Mr Pascoe and Mr Marshall provided essential assistance throughout the carnival. Several Bull Creek athletes also achieved fantastic results by becoming Champions or Runner-up Champions. 2 Bull Creek Primary School From the Principal s Desk Sports Thank You A sincere Thank you to everyone involved with athletics during Term 3. Many staff and parents assisted in all sorts of different ways - coaching; catering; scoring; judging and generally encouraging the girls and boys to do their best. A special thank you to Mr Ben Tisdale for doing the massive amount of behind the scenes organising. There s more to the Phys Ed Specialist s job than meets the eye (I should know because I did it for three years!!!). Well done, Mr Tisdale. All the Best Miss Wells Miss Lauren Wells has completed her final teaching practicum in Wattle 3 during Term 3. We wish Miss Wells all the best when she commences teaching in Survey Firstly, thank you to all those families who have completed the National Survey which is being done by all schools in Australia - much appreciated. Secondly, we are still seeking 100 completed surveys for our school. If you haven t yet done so would you please go to to complete the survey. We have three of our families leaving today for overseas, interstate and another suburb - we wish all those families all the best for the future and thank them for their valuable contributions to our school. Conversely, we have three new families commencing at the start of Term 4. Just a reminder that the children commence school on Tuesday 14 October. 3 GLEE CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS The DVD and photographs of Bull Creek Glee Club, from the Crown Theatre performance are available at the Studio Galea website. If you have not already purchased them there is still time to get a fantastic memory of your child on stage. Take a look at the website under client area, events and WAGSMS. Password is WAGSMS2014. Bull Creek primary school pictures are under Wednesday 6 th August. Glee Club Auditions for Years 4 to 7 for fourth term 2014 are being held on the first Tuesday back from 3:05 3:30pm. If your child is interested please come along to the performing arts room to audition. We have already held some auditions this week so announcements will be made to the new Glee Club members in the first week of term 4. 8 ATTACHMENTS & FLYERS ESCAPADE LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS HOLIDAY PROGRAM The City of Melville s libraries and museums have the above holiday program on offer. Bookings can be made by phoning City of Melville or online at melvillecity.com.au/libraries 2 FREE COME & SEE, COME & TRY SYNCHRO SWIMMING SESSIONS at the Melville Aquatic Centre during the first week of the upcoming holidays. These sessions are sponsored by Healthway and it s all part of keeping our young people healthy and active. Synchronised Swimming is a female only sport. Experienced Synchronised Swimmers will demonstrate routines and skills in the water and then be on deck to help the coaches teach the novice swimmers who turn up on the day. There is no need to book - simply come along! The sessions are booked for : TUESDAY SEPT 30TH and THURSDAY OCT 2ND AM 8
