With a lot to play for this was a big game for the boys and they were really excited about the challenge. We lost the toss and Trinity decided to bat first. Nick Walker and Dylan Olley opened the bowling and they both bowled an attacking line and asked a lot of questions of the opening batsmen. Having said that, Trinity were 0/29 after 10 overs. To the boys credit they stuck to the plan and continued to keep the ball nice a full. Enter Charley 'Chucky' mith, bowling with good pace and a great line he would pick up the two key wickets of the Trinity batting line up. He would arguably bowl his best spell of bowling to date for the school and he would finish with 3/14 off his 6 overs. Nick DeCesare played his first game since making his debut in over 12 months and he delivered by claiming 2 wickets. The skipper continued his good form and claimed 3/13, whilst Dylan Olley came back for a 2nd spell and claimed two very well deserved wickets. The bowlers delivered perfectly on our plans and it was fantastic to see the boys in the field back this up. Although it was arguably our best bowling performance as a unit, it was clearly our best fielding performance for the year. We were set a total of 69 to win. Adam Reynolds and Michael Papadakis had 45 minutes before lunch to survive. Michael got out just before tea and Dylan Olley did a terrific job for the team surviving through until lunch and then stuck around for quite some time after lunch working hard with Adam. Eventually Dylan was out for 9 and Darcy Church came to the crease. Darcy played a super little cameo of 13 off 12 balls where it helped us gather the momentum and get our teeth into the run chase. Eventually imon (4 not out) and Adam Reynolds (29 not out) saw the team over the line! It was a fantastic innings from Adam, who showed great leadership and concentration throughout his whole innings. It was a great win and I was proud of the boys efforts on aturday. We must now turn our attention to this weekend's game against Mentone. Mentone have been fairly dominant throughout this season and it is another great challenge that we can look forward to. ood teams are able to back up each week, thats our challenge this

Church 8A v PENINULA LOT 10/50 v 7/113 Kudage-Don Matt Waddington Batting Max Askew Bowling FIRT uy TENNI v TRINITY WON v 5 76 Round 6 saw Yarra Valley rammar take on Trinity rammar in Bulleen on a slightly overcast morning. A couple of injuries to the squad over the past 2 of weeks created some openings for our younger brigade to step up, and none other than year 7 Yaya Bushnaq. Yaya teamed up with Zac Braunthal for the first time ever, but you would never have known as they were able to take both doubles rubbers in two tightly contested matches 8-6 & 8-7. Another injury occurred to the squad, this time to Bassel Judeh as he copped a stray volley in the eye forcing him to retire, in his second match with hyan ivaratnam, to receive medical treatment. Bassel made a courageous comeback however, not only playing his singles but getting the win 8-2 as well. After a few tight doubles at the start of the day, Yarra Valley were in control of their opponents for the majority of the day. Captain Edwin Van Raventeyn had his best singles performance for the season finishing the day on a high with a 8-1 victory. Andy Hua was the standout performer, winning one of his singles matches in 5 sets, and losing the other in 4 hard-fought sets.
