3 When you were a child who did you play for and what was your favourite position? My Home club was St Patrick s Gfc, Tullow, Co Carlow, my favourite position in football was half back & mid field in hurling. What player did you admire the most? Jack O'Shea (Kerry) Why did you become a manager and how long have you managed the team? I started with the nursery in 2003 when the club trained over at the end of Pace Road before they moved to Hunters Run, my daughter Orlaith saw the training one night and asked if she could play, she joined in with the rest of the boys and girls, my son Fiach used to come over with me and once he started I started. I worked with the 2000 team when they started go games in 2008 and Mark Haskins and myself took over the 2001 group in 2009 when they started their go games program What is the best part of being a manager? Watching the players grow and develop as footballers and hurlers over the years and enjoying watching them play week in and week out What has been the highlight of your managerial career? There have been so many over the years and hopefully one or two more to come What has been your toughest defeat to take? U14 football league playoff, lost by 1 point, we played really well that year and were that close to winning a league What are your managerial goals for next few years with your team?

4 This year is a really big year for the lads, they have a lot to look forward to in both football and hurling, it is also their last year as juveniles. The ultimate goal is to see as many of them as possible playing adult football and hurling with Erin Go Bragh Under 10 s Boys Hurlers Saturday 22nd of April in Hazelbury park. A bright spring morning and the scene for an epic battle between Erin go Bragh under 10 boys and Trinity Gaels. With two evenly matched games taking place, spectators were spoiled for choice. Our boys knew they had to be up to their usual high standards against a strong hurling opposition. They did not disappoint. Gaels advanced hard and strong but Andrew Brady was having a defensive performance as pristine as the new boots on his feet. Splinters were flying, literally, as Adam Daly broke not 1 but 2 hurls in a typical tigerish display that has become his norm. Further up the pitch Cathal Mulvey was giving the Gaels defense headache with his constant movement and persistent threat. With squad numbers lower on the day than normal, it was all hands to the pump. Cian McLaughlin was not going to let his teammates down. Despite carrying a leg injury restricting his running, he manned up in goals and produced a performance that had the opposition mentors applauding. Play of the day had to be Sean Kinsella s no look, reverse overhead hand- pass (all that was missing was a back flip) to put Senan Fogarty in on goal for an impressive score. At the end of the game every player from all sides could hold their heads high safe in the knowledge they had given their all for their club. The future of GAA is bright. #WhoAreWe Under 10 Mentors

5 Under 12 s Boys Hurlers The Under 12 Hurlers put in a massive performance against a physically bigger Trinity Gaels team when they travelled to the Malahide Road on Saturday morning. It was a tremendous team effort and the boys were unfortunate to lose out on a score line of 3-3 to 2-2. The team was Cian Daly, Matthew Farrelly, Cormac Casserly, Michael Padden, Ethan McDonald, Oran Heagney, Cillian O'Sullivan, Cian O'Flaherty,Shane Desmond, Denis Onos and Cuan O'Hara. Under 14 s Boys Hurlers Under 14 Boys played Round Towers of Lusk on Saturday afternoon and what a game of hurling. A fantastic display of hurling from all the lads, they fought back from 9 points down only to be pipped by a goal.

6 U16 s Boys Football The U16 boys played Scoil Uí Chonaill in St Catherine's park on Saturday afternoon with a championship semifinal place up for grabs for the winners. Getting off to a great start with early scores from Scott Monaghan and Fiach Johnson the 16's continued to build on that start with continued pressure on the Scoil defence resulting in further scores for Monaghan, Jon Youman, Conor Gorman & Conor McLeod seeing the local team build up a large half time lead. The second half saw Scoil up their performance levels and put EGB under on the back foot from time to time however strong defensive performances from Adam Dalton, Brian O'Sullivan, Corey Smith and Kenny Omatayo saw the tide turn towards the home team and ensured a comfortable win which sees the boys playing in the semifinal on May 6th against St Peters. (Match report Karl Johnson) Erin Go Bragh: M O'Brien, J Clarke, C Keenan, K Omayato, C Kenny, B O'Sullivan, C Smith, A Dalton, F Johnson, C Gorman(Luke McEntee), Jon Youman, C McLeod, S Monaghn(G Yakub), E Kinsella, R Maher Under 8 Girls Erin Go Bragh V St.Maurs Rush. 10am 23/04/2017 In Rush On Sunday 23rd April, the girls met a strong St. Maurs team in Rush with some excellent playing. They struggled in the first game after conceding some early scores but came back strong in the second match and were much more competitive and showed great determination. They had great fun and are making great progress seeing as they only started playing in February (Match Report Patrick Henderson)

7 Under 11 Girls The U11 Girls played super against Garretstown on Sunday morning.

8 Under 16 Camoige Girls. Erin Go Bragh U16 camogie girls lose out in 19 goal thriller. EGB 8-11 Naomh Olaf 11-6 Well what a game!!! Hard to believe when you score 8-11 you end up losing a game but that s sport. The EGB girls fought a brave fight but after fighting back from a 12 point deficit midway through the second half to level the game Naomh Olaf managed to get 2 quick fire goals to win out in the end. The girls got off to a slow start and this ultimately cost them as they were always chasing the game. There were some great scores from Amy Daly Aoife O Sullivan Amy Flanagan and Niamh Maher and Ellen Gribben worked tirelessly in midfield. In defence Amy Carroll was terrific along with Aoibhinn Buke, Keri Redmond, Megan Owens and Rachel Murray. Our 2 goalkeepers Jade Omotayo and Aoibhe Kearney had a very busy afternoon but made some terrific saves. In attack Ellie Manning Katie Kearney and Gemma Padden were excellent. It was a blow to league title aspirations but all is not lost and there are 3 games left to make amends. Scorers Aoife O Sullivan 2.4 Amy Daly 3-1 Amy Flanagan 2-3 Niamh Maher 1-2 Ellem Gribben 0-1 Next up for the girls is Faughs in Tymon Park on Tuesday evening 25th April at 7pm. (Match report Jerry O Sullivan)

9 Senior Footballers Senior Footballers continue their winning streak beating Shankill. Gaelic for Mothers & Others Club Lotto Our Lotto jackpot is 10,000 There were 5 20 winners this week. Numbers drawn were 7, 3, 17, 28. Next draw Fri 28 th April in the Paddocks Erin go Bragh Gaelic for Mothers and Others had their first game of 2017, last Thursday 20th April in Hunters Run. Their opponents were St Colmciles of Swords. It was a tough first match back, after a long break since last November. The match was played with two teams of 10, which saw Erin go Bragh having a sideline of 6 subs. This was a good opportunity for everyone to get a run out for the first time. After moving onto grass after training on the astro for the last couple of months, it was more challenging and tiring playing on the pitch. The girls however rose to the challenge and Erin go Bragh beat St Colmciles with a score line of 2 14 to 0 5. Our next match will take place in 2 weeks time, which will see us play Man O War. Now the first match is over I know the girls are all looking forward to match number 2. (Match Report Ciara Farrell) Club Membership Club memberships are now overdue. Could we ask that all Parents/Guardians please return completed forms.

10 Dublin Rose Finalist Best of luck to our under 8 boys Manger Chloe English who is one of the finalists of the Dublin Rose. Summer Camp Keep an eye out for our summer camp, dates will be advertised in the coming weeks.
