Firstly, I would like to start by welcoming everybody to our Street League AGM. The section had another very busy but hugely successful year. As in in recent years, training commenced indoors in mid January under the guidance of Kevin Murray with an emphasis on fundamental movement drills. Outdoor training commenced in late February where Friday night committed to Football and Saturday morning to Hurling. Our sessions continued unabated right thro to mid November apart from 5/6 week period between late July and mid August. A huge thanks must go to our dedicated bunch of coaches who have given a great deal of time and effort during the year. Effectively the section operated over 32/33 weekends ( 64 / 66 sessions ) though favourable weather conditions alluded us more frequently than in recent years. This is evidence of fantastic commitment and loyalty to our Club and I congratulate coach and player alike for same. Our Registrar s report shows that we have 244players registered with circa 140 boys attending the club on a weekly basis Friday and Saturday. Whilst acknowledging the potential impact of other sports, our 2 sessions per weekend appears to assist retention of players in a challenging environment. It would be easier if we could attract more coaches via parents and adult players within the club. The Section has always / is actively pursuing this objective but the more help the better and all new recruits will be gratefully welcomed. At this point, I wish to acknowledge our Executive Committee for their support in our Schools Coaching programme. Same under the guidance of Kevin Murray in May 2014 and it has been a significant success with players attending our club now that may not have necessarily done so unless the Club had a presence in our local schools. Furthermore, Executive Committee have confirmed that they will continue their support for the programme for 2016 and this is very welcomed. During the past year, the Club has facilitated Rebel Og Chorcai with their U8 and U10 Blitz programme under the Go Games format. The blitzes were organised on an open invite basis to all clubs within the city and surrounding area. As many of you may know, Street League acted as hosts on behalf of the Club albeit a lower number of occasions compared to Many thanks to all who assisted. Following from a very successful event in 2014, our Summer Barbecue took place took place on 27 th June. As you all know, this became a significant club event thanks to wonderful contribution and sponsorship of Liam Ryan and his Team at Supervalu Togher. Glad to report a great evening / night was had by all though the weather did leave us down! A huge attendance was had for the Christmas Party jointly held with the Camogie Section. Now we have shakers and movers off the field as well! Kellogg s Cul Camp organised and run by Ivan O Mahony in August was very well supported with 123 children attending a high compared to recent years. In preparing for tonight, I asked leading mentors under each age profile to document their year for the age group and wish to thank for them for their contributions outlined later in the report. Our heartiest congratulations to U11 squad who completed ling Double under Rebel Og format this year. Lastly, my thanks to Diane Egan for her tremendous work as Registrar for the last number of years as she is stepping down from the role tonight.

U5 Hurling & Football Mentors: Paudie O Sullivan, Ken McCarthy, Greg O Halloran, Ian Keeler, Sean Crowley, Gian Andreoni, Aidan O Brien, It has been a great year in the 4 & 5 s. The numbers have been very encouraging. On the drills side of things, not only did the coaches concentrate on grip and stance but brought in drills to help balance, co-ordination and flexibility. All this was achieved due only to one factor, the dedication and perseverance of a team of dedicated coaches. The group participated in blitzes with U6 s versus Erins Own, Douglas and Blackrock in hurling which were of great delight & fun to this group. However, a highlight for the group & coaches was our away day in Bishopstown for a football blitz. We had 28/30 boys in attendance and it was encouraging to see their strong performance against a peer group. U6 Hurling & Football Mentors: Derek McCarthy, Fergal O'Mahony, Patsy O'Herlihy, Barry O'Donoghue, Jordan O'Sullivan, Tim Duncliffe, James Monagher We had a very successful year with the team, training began indoors in early February and due to the players enthusiasm only finished up at the end of November! Our numbers grew from about 24 players at the start of the year to close on 50 players by the end of the year. This growth was down mainly to the tremendous and vital work being done by Kevin Murray in our local schools.

In Hurling we played 8 matches against Blackrock twice, Glen Rovers twice, Erins Own, Douglas and our own Under 7 team. In Football we played 5 football matches against Douglas twice, Bishopstown and our own Under 5 and 7 teams. These matches proved a huge benefit to our players and have shown us the talented bunch of players we have at this age. We would like to thank everybody who helped us throughout the year, particularly the Street League Chairman who made things so easy for us, the parents who have been very supportive and co-operative, Kevin Murray for his guidance and hard work, all those who helped out with the coaching, Damien Cahalane who spent time with our players after one of our matches and of course the players themselves for their unbelievable commitment and enthusiasm. Roll on 2016!

U7 Hurling & Football Mentors: Pat Twomey, Anthony Cahalane, John Twomey, Tim O Herlihy The Under 7 s began the year by using our fantastic facility in the hall for training on the cold mornings in February. The circuit training on Saturday mornings at 10 am saw the boys don their helmets and spend the next hour going from one activity to the next. Each activity concentrated on a different aspect of hurling, football or movement skills. As well as being very beneficial to the kids it was also a lot of fun which is the most important part. Training on the astro turf began in March and before long the boys were involved in matches. Firstly we played Bishopstown in the Barrs in football and shortly afterwards travelled to Blackrock for hurling. A trip to Douglas for football was then followed up with a trip back to play a hurling blitz with Douglas and Blackrock. It s great to see the camaraderie that the boys have even at such a young age and each and every one of them enjoyed the matches. The year ended with a football blitz with the U6 s. It is fantastic to see the progress that the boys have made this year. They are really developing at this stage. Thanks to all the coaches for their effort throughout the year and a special thanks to the parents of the kids. Keep bringing your kids to play. They will be better for it. U8 Hurling & Football Mentors: Eoin Barrett, Sheldon Philips, Eddie Burke, Kieran Murphy, Stephen Finnegan Once again this group of players have made great progress during the year. It was a pleasure to deal with them and the future for this group certainly looks promising. There has been fantastic commitment from the players and in particular the parents and we want to thank the parents for their support during the year. The highlight of the year was the trip to Nowlan Park to watch the Cork beat Dublin in the National League semi-final. The lads even had a puck around with Henry Shefflin in Nowlan Park. PROGRESS We believe we have made progress in We began with our first training sessions in the newly developed club hall in January and ended on 31 October. The training in the hall has built on the fundamental movement training which this group have been participating in for the last two years. The focus of fundamental movement is to develop locomotive skills like jumping, dodging, skipping and rolling. The development of the hall into a usable training space is a great initiative, particularly for the winter months. We would like to express our thanks to Kevin Murray for his vision in developing this concept of indoor hurling and promoting players awareness of space. This year we went right through the summer including a session/match every Saturday in July and August. We believe each boy made significant strides in acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to develop into an accomplished hurler and footballer player.

REGISTRATION The registrar provided us with an excel spreadsheet of approximately 50 boys for this age-group. At the beginning of the year a number of parents expressly said that they did not want to be contacted without any reason being given. This amounts to approximately 10 boys since we started with this group who are not coming back to the club. This group is getting 24 players on a consistent basis for training with the numbers rising for matches/blitzes. Most blitzes we entered 4 teams of 7 (28 players) and in some tournaments this rose to 5 teams (35 players. COACHING The committee would like to thank all who helped us with coaching during the year. At times we got support in coaching from Jim O Donohgue, Kevin Murray, Eddie Burke and Tim O Herlihy. Eamon Fitzpatrick Jr even stepped in one morning to take a team at one of the blitzes. This was after driving his son down from Dublin for the match! A chip off the old block. From the senior teams James Goggin and Eoin Finn have helped in imparting their knowledge and skill onto our future stars for the Barrs! TOURNAMENTS/MATCHES Throughout the year we participated in a number matches and tournaments which provided each player with the opportunity to display their skills. We played in the Rebel Og Go-Games Monster blitzes. We went to 5 football blitzes and 5 hurling blitzes. We also were the host club for both a hurling and football blitz and as usual Paudie O Sullivan had the traffic calming measures in place. This group also participated in the Jim Hurley football tournament which catered for St Finbarrs players from under 7 & under 8 ages. This was a great event and thanks to everyone for their help with this. A number of our players played with the under 9 team occasionally during the year and thanks to Donal, Eoin and the lads for their help and support throughout the year. An Focal Scoir We would like to extend our condolences to Paul O Keeffe following the death of his dad, Billy who was a great supporter of the under 8 team. One blitz in the summer was played in a monsoon up in the Glen Field and Billy was there through it all encouraging his grandson, Dan and the rest of the lads. He will be missed.

U9 Hurling & Football Mentors: Donal Hegarty, Jim O Donoghue, John Egan, Rickey Barrett, Peter Hetherington, William Millard, Brian O Sullivan and Eoin Fitzpatrick. Outdoor training commenced the end of February and we finished end of October. We trained every Friday night working on the skills of football. On average we had 35 boys who attended football training every Friday night. Attendance and behaviour of the boys during football sessions and County Board Blitz in the past year was excellent. We held the Canty Cup football blitz in the Barrs this year for the first time. We had a great day and lost out in the Final. Also, we had a very busy year this year and participated in the fortnightly Rebel Og Monster blitzes. We are very happy with their progress in both hurling & Football. We also had a very successful trip to Dublin in September visiting Croke Park. A big thank you to all the parents and coaches and committee members who have helped out this year.

U10 Hurling & Football Mentors: Kevin Kelleher, Brian Kennefick, Ger Kelleher, Stephen McCluskey & Diarmuid O Meara We started the year with football training on Friday evenings & hurling training on Saturday mornings just to get the lads up and running with the basics before the games kicked in. We spent the start of the year competing in the county board organised blitzes in both hurling & football which were run on a fortnightly basis alternating between hurling & football. I think these blitzes have run its course in relation to this age group, as I noticed that some of the so called bigger clubs were not participating and the games were very much hit and miss. Mick Cashman Cup (Blackrock Hurling Tournament) This was our main hurling focus this year. I must be honest that we entered this competition with a small bit of dread, in relation to how we would cope with it, after seeing the competitive nature of the tournament in years gone by. This competition consisted of Blackrock, Na Piarsaigh, Erins Own, Douglas & St. Finbarrs all entering 2 evenly matched teams. Each team would then play 2 matches per weekend over 4 designated weekends alternating between the various club venues all ending with a plate final & a cup final back in Blackrock in June. We started slowly with both of our teams losing both their games on the 1 st morning in Blackrock which did nothing to dilute our fears. After that initial disappointment, the players realised that we had a lot of work to do but to give them huge credit they knuckled down to training. After that initial disappointment both our teams improved hugely with one team making the top 4 to compete in the Cup semi-finals and the other team would compete in the plate competition. The cup semi- final consisted of Blackrock, both Erins Own Teams and one of our own teams. We lost a very competitive game to Erins Own in the Cup semi- final which was a disappointment after beating that same Erins Own team well the previous week in the last of the round robin matches in Togher. The other Barrs team soon made us forget our disappointment by producing outstanding performances to beat one of the Douglas teams & Na Piarsaigh to reach the Plate final. They eventually lost to the other Douglas team in a great final. I must say after the initial dread at the start of this tournament it actually proved to be the making of this group of players along with the extra nights training we did on a Wednesday night with the U9 team. This proved very successful training together on the Wednesday night as these 2 groups are very comfortable together which will have huge benefits going forward. The improvements were plain to see from everyone involved for both groups. We played a number of friendly games in both hurling and football as the year progressed playing Inniscarra, Sliabh Rua, Blackrock (Hurling) Carrigaline & Bishopstown (Football). We also played an excellent hurling tournament in Mayfield which consisted of the hosts, ourselves and a team from Limerick & Tipperary. It was a good experience to come up against teams from other counties and we more than held our own.

We finished off the year with a very good hurling tournament in Inniscarra on Sunday the 1 st of November and played Bishopstown under lights in Football the following Friday the 6 th which was a great way to finish off a long successful year. As a whole we are delighted with the progress made in relation to numbers, skill improvement & camaraderie within this group. I would also like to place on record a huge thanks to Eoin Fitzpatrick, Donal Hegarty & Brian O Sullivan who provided players and man power for the Cashman Cup and various other matches throughout the year. The year would not have been so positive without their help and support.

U11 Hurling & Football Mentors: Tim Horgan, Aidan Hegarty, Jerry O Donovan, Luke Mc Carthy Our U11 s started training in early January with physical fitness training at the hurling wall and then circuits in the hall for the month of January while also using the hurling alley. Our main focus this year was the John Kerins tournament and the rebel og football and hurling leagues. We have had well over a hundred training sessions with great attendance by the players and great commitment shown by all. We trained three times a week and used some of our rebel og football matches as preparation for the John Kerins Tournament. We played a very competitive match against Nemo in the tournament quarter final in June, unfortunately coming up short by a point in a very competitive match. This was a great disappointment for the players and was the first competitive match that we lost. That then proved a huge incentive to all to push on for the rest of the year making sure that we got to the finals in both rebel og hurling and football. Both teams competed very strongly in football and hurling winning all but one match and we were the top team going into the rebel og finals in Mallow in September. In July we took part in the Round Towers Fergus Hopkins invitational tournament in Kildare, we went with a mixture of U11/U12 players a great day was had by all, we competed very well in this tournament and lost narrowly in the semi final to a team from Antrim. As part of our day we also took in the Cork V Clare match in Thurles on the way home, then treating the lads to Mc Donalds in Cashel. We hope to play in this tournament again in In the hurling semi finals in Mallow in September we played Midleton with both teams winning comfortably. We then faced Douglas in the final, this was our first time playing this team and after a tough competitive match won with a few points to spare. Two weeks on we competed in the football finals also in Mallow, inflicting a heavy defeat on Nemo in the semi finals and winning a tough battle against Carrigaline in the final. The lads achieved a great double and all of the hard work and training was rewarded. We then had the Seanie Fitz tournament which proved to be very competitive with a high standard of hurling, beating Douglas on the way to the final. We had a great battle with a fancied Ballygarvan side and the lads showed great spirit and resolve winning in the end with a few points to spare. We had completed a great treble by an exceptional team and the future is looking good for a very committed and talented group. To finish our year we had our medals presentation, the hurling presented by Damian Cahalane and the football by Ian Maguire. This was an enjoyable evening for players and parents. To end our year we are currently doing a speed and development course in the Mardyke. Going forward to 2016 we intend putting 2 teams in both hurling and football as we still have very strong numbers, guaranteeing all players plenty of game time. We would also like to thank Kevin McTiernan for his help with the football, and Seamus O Leary for his help with the hurling and also Brother Ben Cusack. We look forward to 2016 and our aim is to push this team on to realize their full potential.

We would like to thank: The Canty, Fitzpatrick & Hurley Families for their continuing support in honour of our Blitz programme. Martin, Sonya and Barr Staff for always being available to both parents and children. Healthy Club Initiative (Claire & Janas Harrington ) re weekly fresh fruit offering Danny in the shop for always being available to both parents and children. Denis Keane (Pitch Committee) for his assistance through the year. Ronan Curran and Mycro helmets for their support during the year. Tadgh Drinan for all the work he continuously does behind the scenes. Pat Lougheed, our Club President, who was always available to help our section. Ivan O Mahony for organising Cul Camps. Mick Comyns and his Executive Committee for all their work put into the club over the last year. Denis Harrington and the Senior Hurling Section for their continued support. Liam Hodnett and the Senior Football Section for their continued support. Diarmuid Hurley and the Minor Section for their continued support Der Edwards and his Underage Committee for all their help and support during the year. Fionnan O Neill and his committee in the Camogie Section. We joined forces in a number of events over the year to great effect. Liam Ryan ( Supervalu ) for their continued support. Tony Noonan and his photography skills are greatly appreciated. I hope I have not inadvertently forgotten to thank any particular individual(s) for their contribution and apologise if that is the case. And finally a huge thanks (again) to all the coaches for an excellent years work.
