Membership has now hit 170 members, hopefully we are meeting your tennis club needs. If any issues please don t hesitate to contact me - anytime! Within this newsletter you will see an expression of interest for a new Membership Officer. If you have the computer skills, some free time and a volunteering spirit we would welcome you to become our new Membership Officer. Training is also available. Let me take this opportunity to thank Jenny Parker for performing this valuable role for 6 years. Well done, Jenny! Our Don Road Sporting Complex tennis facility is now a thing of the past. 2 HTC Tournaments & Competitions Mid-Week Ladies Report. Having a good season. Tuesdays Maltta: reached semi final but beaten. Thursdays FTGWLTA : Sect 3 very good season finishing on top of ladder but beaten in Grand Final by Park Orchards. Sect 4 also had a good season reaching Grand Final vs Selby. Well done to every Mid-Week Lady Player! Next Season - Tuesdays commence on 17th July and Thursdays on 19th July. Any new ladies keen to play either Tuesday or Thursday comps please contact Dot - Ph: We're always needing Emergencies too. Night Tennis Wednesday 20th of June was the Tuesday Night and Wednesday night grand finals. It was a balmy 4 degrees, but the players dressed for the occasion with plenty of beanies and gloves on show. The Tuesday night grand final saw Matt, Roland, Leni and Judy defeat Andy Lou, Norm and Julie. The Wednesday night grand final saw Holger, Karl, Rowan and Irene defeating Keith, John, Vanessa and Gabby. A Big thank you to Graham Bolton for all the organising he does for the Tuesday night comp! Winter Night Tennis There will be a slight change to the format of the night tennis seasons for the remainder of the year. We will be having a short 8 week Winter Season starting on the 18th July and finishing the week of 5th of September. There will just be Wednesday night tennis for this short season.this will give those that don t like playing in winter the chance to take an 8 week break and rejoin in September where we will hope to have both nights up and running again. We will always welcome new players or those just wanting to be an emergency. Contact Janet on to sign up.
