1 June 2011 Issue 5 Last Man Stan nding Important Diary Dates 3 July 2011 Bingo Day Nov 2011 Father & Son Weekend Away Another boring week for the Last Man Standing with only 3 punters being eliminated, and all of them failed to tip which meant they needed the Titans to knockk over the Bulldogs. This leaves the number at 16 still striving for the $1,000 and more importantly the prestige of becoming the Last Man Standing. In origin news we found another way to lose an origin game to those filthy rotten cane toads and the most asked question in rugby league for the past 3 years was answered NO Jamie Soward is not an origin player. Ricky Stuart continued to bewilder the football world with his coaching tactics by selecting the best kicker in the NRL for origin, and then giving the bulk of the kicking duties to Mitchell Pearcee - absolute genius. Sam Backo moved quicker and did more work in the origin legends game than Jason King did in the actual origin, great stuff Kingy. Not to worry, life goes on (just) and I will be watching game 2 to see us smash those 2 headed, inbred rednecks from north of the border. In the NRL the Eels roll was once again restricted to one in a row and I am sure the pansies in the Red V will be terrified of Friday night s game once they read the Eels team sheet on Wednesda ay. Morris and Cooper have already pulled out with heartlidge problems. The Sharks are mounting great momentum for a streak of their own for losing and the Titans are throwing out a serious challenge to the Sharks and Bunnies for the spoon. Brownie NRL Junior League Passess Please be informed that all NRL Junior League passes and NRL Season Passes WILL NOT be accepted at the Eels v Dragons game, Friday June 3 rd.

Match Reports for the week ending 8 May 2011 Under 6, Group 4 38 vs. Kellyville 8 Another easy win this week against the Kellyville Bushrange ers, as we officially welcomed Benjaminn to the team on the day of his 4th birthday! He had a great first game and another junior Tiger, Rehua, had a great day too, scoring his first try. The Tigers dominated in both attack and defence with Daniel, Grayson and Jy all picking up doubles and Byron earning man of the match for his efforts in defence and making a try saving tackle in the second term. Keep up the good work boys!!! Tries:- Jy - 2, Grayson - 2, Daniel - 2, Reina - 1, Rehua - 1, Rewiri - 1 Conversion - Jy Man of the Match - Byron Jones Heidi & Bruce Under 6, Group 5 20 vs. Winston Hills 8 The Tiger cubs took a while to get goingg this week but we all made some good runs. Kobi is settling in nicely with a couple of great kick offs seeing all his team mates chase the ball. The most pleasing thing for the coaches was that everyone ran the right way, Karen you must be doing something right. Tries this week went to Zoe and Kobi. Wyatt went home with player of the day for his great tackling and Brownie (Koby B) went home with the encouragement award for some great cover tackles in the last quarter. Well done kids. Tammy PHOTO Congratulations OF THE WEEK Is this you?? If it is - go to the canteen to get your free can of soft drink and a sausage sizzle.

Under 7, Group 2 10 vs. Wenty 28 We lost this game in the first 10 minutes becausee we were a bit slow getting in to the tackling groove. The second and third 10 we weree really good, we tackled well and led by Andrew and Noah we ran really hard. AJ was our man of the match with some strong runs and tackles. Brendan and Konner were great in defense and unfortunately Samuel missed out on his first try by a millimetre!! Again Luke and Luke make a big differencee when they are our playmakers. Luke B also scored a good try from dummy half close to the line. Good effort boys. Under 8, Division 3 6 vs. Wenty 30 A scoreline that didn't indicate the toughness of the game. We were two players short with poor Cameron having a crook stomach and Taniella not available. As a result we had zero reserves and Wenty had FIVE yes Five!. Wenty had been smashing the opposition by 40 and 50 points and are going up to second division so to lose by 24 points wasn't bad at all. After the 1st ten the score was only 10 nil and after the second it was only sixteen points to six thanks to a runaway try to Luke. It was the third ten where they ran away with the game with Toony having no reserves and Wenty having gazillions! I was very proud of how the boy's performed. The main differencee was NOT in attack (we matched them) it was their speed in defence, holding their line and all moving up together. As each week goes by we are improving and I know we'll get better and better. In defencee Max showed them the side line several times with Jordy and Jack pulling off some great tackles. Tyler showed us side step and also made a great tackle. Jason palmed this poor Wenty kid and I think he's still in space orbiting planet Earth! Noah and Curtis ran the ball up hard and tried their best in tackling. MVP went to Luke and no-one goes to Maca's cause I forgot! Spud, Daz and Ronnie Palmer Under 8, Division 4 10 vs. Fairfield Pats 46 We turned up this week with a great win under our belt to play a welll drilled team. Ohine (Girl of the Match) and Akesh (Player of the Week) both in the first year of rugby league had their best game yet, tackling well and had a great game in attack. Ohine came off in our last ten with a sore ankle and Jess also hurt her kneee (how tough are you girls with no tears), hope you have both pulled up ok girls!! With Kye back from his NZ Trip we had a full team on the park. Fairfield are a well drilledd team, very switched on in the attack and talk on the field amongst themselves. We just came up against a team that was better than us on the day. With work to be done on our defensive line, we came away learning from the game. Our try scorerss were Jayden and Robbie with a goal from Joshua who is off to McDonalds this week. Tigers seee you all at training if the rain lets up!! Daniel, Paul & Annie

Under 9, Division 2 12 vs. Cabramattaa 24 A great game by the boys today but unfortunately we didn't get the win but the boys played really well. We knew it was going to be a tough game as Cabraa are the top team. We were leading at half time but just couldn't hang on as one of their speedsters put on 2 quick tries on us. We contained their big boys well and all our boys defendedd great. It was good to play the top team to see where and what areas of our game we need to focus on. I have high hopes for these boys as we will continue to get better from week to week. Great game boys, very proud of you all. Zac & Brad 1 try each. Brad & Jarryd 1 goal each. Man of the match Brad. Effort award Lennox Go the mighty tigers Joe Under 10, Division 2 10 vs. Wenty 16 After a good win last week we went into this game with plenty of confidence but so too did Wenty. Matthew Pottinger was a real handful making meters up the middle and with his rock solid defence. Ryley, Harrison, Bradley and Des played strong. We had this game with 15 to go, up 10-4 but a few unforced mistakes close to our line let Wenty back into the game and when they got their nose in front they were able to hang on for a win. Dont worry too much boys, train hard and we will be hard to beat as the season goes on. Special thanks to Spud who helped me out with the managing duties. Call to Arms 2011 During the season, Parramatta JRL will be supporting the Cancer Council again this season and ask that all clubs give their support. We will be giving our support as a club in raising funds to support the Cancer Council and support the fight to tackle cancer. All teams will be asked to donate a gold coin on this day and all players will be wearing yellow arm bands to show their support. We will be doing raffles this weekend at the games to raise as much as we can to assist the Cancer Council. On average more than 1,0000 men are diagnosed with cancer each week, by the age of 85, 1 in 2 men will be diagnosedd with cancer. Dig deep and help!

Under 10, Division 3 20 vs. Canley Heights 12 This week we faced the competition leaders and boy did we think we had a big forward pack, they made our forwards look tiny. I think parra should start testing some of the kids in a few divisions to see what parents actually feed them these days dammmm. Well we started the game on the back foot, having 5 or 6 penalties go against us one after the other which kept us tackling for nearly 10min. They took an early lead scoring two tries taking them to 8-0 lead before two quick tries one from our speed machine Jai who razzle dazzled the defence out wide and one from Hamish who drove over them like a tank on a mission to crash over the line. This gave us a 10-8 lead going into half time and just like that the boys kicked into gear. The second half was all Toony as we dominated again through our forwards and saw them muscle up to their big boys showing them they have a bigger heart and saw Jaidyn score a awesome try out wide crashing through everyone in his way leaving nothing but destruction. Now Canley Heights were really under pressure and on the back foot. Our defence was good and our kick chase was great as they dropped the ball time and time again from the effort and pressure of our chasers and on one occasion some brilliant chasing by Scott saw him fly through their line and dive on the ball to score his first try of the season, what a champion GO SCOTTY. Well done boys, we looked like winning the entire game, we were the better team we just needed a spark to get us going and this is where we need to startt our games a lot faster and let the other teams play catch up. I'm proud of you all as each player played their heart out and most importantly you played as a team. Congratulations on your win boys, here comes round 5 Try Scorers: Jai 1, Scott 1, Jaidyn 1, Hamish 1. Goals: Tory & Damon Under 12, Division 3 38 vs. Wentworthville 4 Great result for the boys. A game we needed to win and win well. Great performances by Daniel R who really showed his great ability to get to the line, scoring a heap of tries. Lochie scored a great forward try and at last running straight. Jake impressed with his running and was rewarded with a great try. Daniel U made some great breaks up the middle. Connor B showed his great ability to off load with a great pass for a try. I guess the only negative was scoring 9 tries but only kicking 1 goal with even the coach volunteering to kickk goal. Guys we just need to settle down and put in at training and I feel, along with all the coaches, that the sky s the limit this year. Man of the match Rhys Gorman. P.s I would like to thank Coady, Aaron, Rhys, Daniel R and Lochie who are always on call to back up for the 13 s. Great effort guys. Mark, Warren, Dane and Danielle.

Under 13, Division 3 18 vs. Blacktown PCYC 42 No report submitted Under 14, Division 3 36 vs. Seven Hills 4 A pretty good effort from the boys to finish off on a high note in 3rd division, it gets harder from here as we have been put up to 2nd division, but I am sure this is where we belong!! Great games by James and Joseph with some great defense, punishing tackles and paving the way for our backs to do their thing scoring some great tries. The team is improving every week but you need to let your football do the talking NOT your mouths!!! First game this week in 2nd division is against Greystanes so good luck and let's give this comp a real shake up. Man of the match was Jake Eagleton, well done Jake on a great game!!! Sue (Manager) Under 15, Division 1 4 vs. Cabramatta 50 Wih our horrible run of injuries we could only manage to field thirteen players for our game against Cabramatta, two of whichh were sick. Down 10-4 after twenty minutes, fatigue and dubious refereeing decisionss took its toll on the weary tigers. Two late first half tries gave the visitors a flattering 20-4 lead at the break. Upon resumption of play the tigers produced plenty of opportunities but were unable to convert into points. This side is hanging in games for extended periods despite missing key players. Can t wait to come out the other side of this tough period. by manbearpig Birthdays 1 st Anthony Castiaa & Tukino Boyce 3 rd Kate Holden 4 th Guy Maldigri 5 th Isaac Fepuleai, Justin Borg 6 th Tarehu Kameta 7 th Coady Eddy, Kurtis Hails 8 th Geoffery Lui 9 th Corey Britton & Louis Saad 10 th Raymond Jabbour 11 th Anna Bubb, Johnny Aguna & Simon Vassallo 12 th Anthony Daley, David Kamara & Simon Leatulagi 14 th Taumaloto Taufua 15 th Benjamin Taylor, Griffin Reynolds, Jason Wallace & Jay Lombardo, 16 th Ezekiel Metuariki, Mark Golding & Teaaria Teariki Celebrated in June We hope your day was/ is a special one. 18th Joe Wehbe, Mark Leota & Stefan Party 19th Adam Tracey, Anne Gartner, Ivona Sang Yum & Riely Karandrews 20th Matthew Golding 21st Brock Davy, Jacob Yagki & Todd Beesley 22nd Jake Eagleton & Michael Chammas 23rd Steve Lloyd 24th Chris Woolley, Elton Drego, Jeremy Rewiri & Sue Holdsworth 25th Assaad Abdallah, Michael Reardon & Todd Mckeown 26th Michael Wessell 27th Wayne Ison 28th Pharrelll Leatulagi & Robert Zaide 29th Aaron Naulty, Ashton Andree-Evarts & Brett McAndrew

Under 16, Division 2 16 vs. Cabramatta 10 It seems we are believing in ourselves a little more each week. We started pretty good and had some good carries to get us up field but a few little errors had us stalled for a while. Loosing Spence early on didn t help, nor did the ref who seemed hell bent on blowin the pea out of his whistle. A very lopsided penalty count saw a wealth of possession go to Cabra (it was even commented on by the Cabra officials standing behind us!!). There must have been a direction given to ref s last weekend to crack down on scrums as there were some bazaar penalties including one given against the feed because the lock had his arms only resting on the backs of the second row, not wrapped around. Despite an ordinary completion rate, we went into the shedss at half time leading 8 nil from two unconverted tries. The second half seemed to just flow on from the first with a few mistakes/penalties in the wrong parts of the field lowering our completion rate again. Cabra hit back to 8-4 after having a plethora of ball. We managed to score another try and get out to 12-4 but once again the ball (and refs whistle) bounced in favour of the home team and we were disallowedd another two tries one when a touch judge believed he saw a double movement next to the posts, not bad considering the ref was next to the ball and the touchie was on the sideline. If a bloke were cynical, he would say that we may have been awarded the try if the crowd had not suggested so strongly to the touch judge that it was a double movement. From the ensuing piggy back penalties, Cabra were back up our end of the field and given a free ride after a dropped ball by their centre went unseen by the same touchie. He must be long sighted as this indiscretion was within 2 metres of him. With their third back-to-backk set they managed to score and convert to have the scorelinee at with about 12 minutes to go. Much to the boys credit they dug deep and went back at them with rock solid defence, then a good kick chase and we were back attacking their line. Some inspiring advise by our trainer, Craven Moorehed, suggested the boys work to one of their short side plays and after the first attempt came close, they managed to score the try with only a minute remaining givingg us the game Four tries, none converted, made it closer than need be. All in all it was a gutsy effort from the boys considering the penalty count, mistakes and positional changes. Sing it again boys Oh when the saints Alfred, Bubby, John Sallwaze, Craven Moorehed. C Grade 26 vs. Parra Jnr Eels 16 A scrappy game despite the result. Good to see a few guys back having a good run after injuries and forced breaks. We need to concentrate on our structure in attack, no more under sixes thinking we all have to score & no more of this pushing the off load and losing possession. Fergo, you are allowed to hold the ball, see if we can go a week without your inside ball losing us possession. Dom, rememberr as the captain, you need to treat the ref with some respect, remember this before opening your mouth. We do not need you in the sin bin again. As for the goal kicking trio, let s all try to get them over the posts, not take turns to miss. Another win all the same Todd, Spike, Steve,Josh & Priscilla (absent)

A Grade 14 vs. Guildford 28 A result we can turn around in round 2. The boys went out with a usual aim to play safe in our half and let the opposition make the mistakes, however, we dropped the ball first tackle after the kick off and then spent the next 15 minutes defending our line. To the boys credit they repelled Guildfordd again and again and then were able to fight their way down field to open up the scoring with a try beside the posts to lead 6 to nil. Another mistake soon after the restart had us under pressure again and in the end Guildford was able to even up with what turned out to be a soft try. An un-enthusiastic chase off the kick off allowed Guildford to launch another raid on our line and cross in the corner to take the lead 10 points to 6. We were able to even up just before half time with a great team try to go to the break at 10 points all and looking like we were going to go on with it. Our opposition looked spent and our guys looked like we had plenty left in the tank despite the huge amount of extra tackling we had to do. After the break we took a 14 to 10 lead but we were tiring fast. Our defensive line became ragged and our lack of enough fresh reserves was showing. When Guildford regained the lead at 14 to 16 we looked gone and althoughh the guys never gave up they could not match it with Guildfordd on a fitness level in the last 10 minutes. In the wash up we ran out of puff, our own kicking game put pressure on ourselves and their kicking game put us under more pressure than the scales at the "Biggest Loser" weigh in. There were some good individual performances. Spike had a great game, scoring our first try, Pete Osland was great but ran out of steam through lack of match practice and Steve Lloyd had a very busy game despite carrying the effects of the "love tap" he received in the chest in last weeks game. Our half/five eighth combination of Ryan Hamilton-Ford and Brett Holden gave the outside backs good service which had the opposition on the ropes many times. Remember fellas, more effort at training gives greater reward in a game. Bill Holden Newsletter Mailing Lists Want to receivee the newsletter as soon as it is finished (why wait after all).
