11 11 Rain Wreaks Havoc on Rams. By Ben Spencer Conditions in round 2 of Division 4 & 5 football at the weekend proved difficult for some sides to manage. This was evident at Glenunga. The Rams were coming off a 79 point defeat to Hope Valley in round 1 and needed to bounce back strongly. A dry first half provided the Rams with run and carry, however, when the rains came in the second half, Westminster looked the better side and eventually ran out 12 point winners. Matt Newman was classy around the ground finishing with 3 goals and setting up numerous more. North Haven likewise shook off a determined Kenilworth outfit to win by 32 points. A sound defensive effort by North Haven restricted Kenilworth to a solitary goal in the second half, proving the catalyst for their victory. Kilburn recorded its first win of 2015, narrowly defeating Hectorville. Jake Levy (5goals) and Cameron Williams were magnificent in the 7 point triumph. Kilburn, Eastern Park and Salisbury also recorded victories. Elsewhere, Eastern Park stunned premiership favourites Hope Valley at home, recording an emphatic 47 point victory, whilst, Salisbury also easily accounted for Pooraka. Inaccuracy plagued CBC Old Collegians and Pulteney at the weekend win their division 5 encounters with their missed opportunities in front of goal proving extremely costly. A very accurate Elizabeth ( ) made the Dolphins pay for their missed chances, careering away to record a comfortable 40 point victory. Similarly, Greenacres accuracy in front of goal was the catalyst for it s victory against Pulteney. Despite have 5 fewer scoring shots, the Dragons played to the conditions better in the second half to record a 10 point triumph. Rosewater demonstrated why they will be a major contender in 2015, restricting Adelaide Lutheran to a miserly 2 goals. Jayden Newchurch added 3 goals to back up his previous effort of 6 whilst, Michael Demant and Malcolm Pitcher were also standouts. In the rounds other games, Blackfriars Old Scholars and Para Hills recorded solid victories against Colonel Light Gardens and Woodville South respectively. Blackfriars OS: Phouc Vo. SAWFL SELFIE Stay tuned for the SAWFL SELFIE COMPETITION First round starts 2 May. You could win 20 cans of 5 Seeds by sending in a selfie of you and a mate/s at a SAWFL game. All you need to do is have the game in the background. Thanks to West End! Keep your eye on our social media

12 12 THE GOOD OIL Stats and Stories from around the League A wet round 2 saw a mixed bag of scores from around the grounds:. Modbury somehow managed on their oval in the wet and amazingly, was also kicked by Salisbury West in their debut game for the year. *At the other end of the scale, bulldogs don t like the rain, with both Plympton and Adelaide Lutheran only managing 2.5 in their respective losses in round 2. Mitcham s A grade and Woodville South C grade also posted the same score. * Biggest score turnaround:, Angle Vale allowed St Pauls OS their first ever win to the tune of 33 points that s a 153 point turnaround from their round 1 win against Flinders Uni. Round 2 didn t give us many nail biters as we thought the wet weather would provide. Henley defeated SHOC by 3 points as did Unley over PAOC in D8. Hectorville got the points over Kilburn in D4R by 5 points * Congratulations to the following players who achieved milestones over the weekend: 300: Shaun Kerin - TTG 200: David Keetch Houghton Districts, Chris Radetti Gaza, Sam Clark and Daniel Sulkowski - Mitcham 150: Luke Greenshields - Elizabeth 100: Matthew Ising Hope Valley, Gary Sumpton West Croydon, Brett Aitken - Mitcham If anyone is celebrating milestones at your club, let us know at HQ. The wet weather meant only 2 players managed double digit hauls in the league for round 2 Blokes who kicked bags in round 2: 10: Darrell McIntyre (Salisbury West), Reggie Wanganeen (North Pines) 7: Josh Thurgood (Pt Districts) Zac Beeckan (SMOSH D2R), Shaun Grogan (Smithfield) Glen Simmons (Golden Grove) 6: Shane Scudds (Golden Grove), Maurice Freeman (Eastern Park), Darren Mitchell (Hope Valley), Scott Webber (Smithfield), Scott McIntyre (Brahma Lodge), Rob Allen (Houghton) This weeks rounds mark the 100 th anniversary of the ANZAC. Track down a digger, shake his hand and thank him for the fact that you can play footy today because of him. LEST WE FORGET
