1 We welcome our Women s Team for 2015 Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to the ANGLE VALE FOOTBALL CLUB for welcoming us to be part of their club. A little history - we were formally the Central District Women s Football Club which was formed in At the end of 2014 we needed to find a new home and was so happy to be invited to join the Angle Vale Football Club. A club now known as the FAMILY club who caters for all ages and now both male & female sides. We currently have 2 sides U18 s (15yrs-18yrs) and our Open side (16yrs+). We are hoping to start an U15 competition (12yrs-15yrs) in 2016 which we are in the process of recruiting for next year. Under 18 s is being coached by Angus Bugeja in his first year of coaching with the assistance of myself. This is the 2nd year for our U18 s and as with any club, we need to grow and develop these players as they are the future of our club. Ruby Allen, Samara Fernandez and Courtney Jensen are all currently trying out for the U18 State Team. We wish these girls all the very best. Open Side - In 2014 we were in Division 1 however as a new club we will be starting in Division 2. This will give us a chance to rebuild and become a stronger club and to have enough numbers in the future for 2 teams, one in each division. Our Captain Sarah Ellis, Vice-Captain Chantelle Bandtock along with our leadership group Brittany Perry, Lesley Flash Burrows, Lisa Brown, Samara Fernandez and Lauren Bungey - this group of experienced and talented ladies will lead us into what we hope to be a very successful year. A special mention goes to another talented player Margaret Varcoe who has played for us the past few years. Yes she is the sister of Adam Varcoe, and the apple does not fall far from the tree as the Varcoe family are very talented footballers. To our sponsors, City of Playford and Adelaide Painting & Maintenance we thank you for your support throughout the coming year. 3 Senior Men s News This week we travel to Wallaroo for our first practice match. This is poised to be a huge test, and a starting point for senior men s selection. So I urge all inspiring players to make their way to Wallaroo and be part of the process in rebuilding our senior teams. The game kicks off at 12:00 and will be set at 6 quarters. The first 3 will be set aside for the reserves followed by 3 quarters for the seniors. I urge all players to be at the ground well before 11am so we can organise jumpers, strapping, team selection and game plan. I wish all that attend the best of luck in the start of our push for a successful 2015 Circulating is our Long Shot Footy Tipping Competition. It s the easiest tipping you will ever do! Grab a tipping form, cross out all the losers for the entire season and pass back in with only $20. That simple! Updates will be displayed during the year and a winners amount will be displayed once all entries are in. but be quick cut off is round 1 AFL season. Cheers and good luck!
