1 August 2018 Newsletter PRESIDENT MESSAGE At the very outset on behalf of Golf Industry Association, I would like to congratulate Gaganjeet Bhullar on his credible performance of winning the recently concluded European Tour Fiji Open. This will certainly add another feather to the Indian Golf and give us further International recognition. I am pleased to announce that Golf Industry Association has recently signed an International Agreement with Australian Golf Course Superintendent Association (AGCSA) for various cross promotional activities of both the Association for mutual benefit. We are also in the process of working out a similar arrangements with CREDAI one of the important stake holders in the Golf Industry. We have decided to shift the venue of the India Golf Expo-2019 from Bangalore last year to New Delhi for the first time at Thyagraj Stadium which will provide fully air conditioned Hall for Exhibition and Conference. This location is easily accessible to Delhi and Noida Golfers. The exact dates of the Expo in April will be finalized soon. We have taken in hand the job to upgrade our existing website with exhaustive information on Golf in India highlighting the Golf Tourism. I expressed my concern earlier about the GIA membership the number of which is not enough to serve the cause of the golf industry. Hence, we have decided to explore the possibility of enrolling more Golf Clubs as GIA members. In order to create awareness to Clubs of expertise available in GIA for various aspects of golf, such as course and equipment maintenance, supply of equipment, rentals etc we shall organize mini conferences in various clubs to create a platform to present GIA offerings. 4 india golf news All India Inter-School Golf Championships The Tollygunge Golf Club was host to 25 city schools in July for the all India Inter-School Golf Championships, now in its 14th year. Congratulations also to Indrajit Bhalotia who conceived the event. Held over three days the event saw over 160 young golfers battle it out on the great Tolly Golf Course layout with the overall winners Abhikanks Basu and Aroush Tagore from La Martinere Boys School. The youngest junior prize was won by five year old Ekveer Singh Malhotra. It is a credit to the Tollygunge Golf Club that they continue to regularly support golf in India and congratulations should go to the President (Viren Sinha), Vice President (Renji Thomas), Captain (Partha Barman), Vice Captain (Ravi Dey) and Club CEO Anil Mukerji. Tollygunge Golf Club to host Golf / Turf Seminar The Tollygunge Golf Club is to also host the GCS&MAI Golf & Turf seminar on September 29th The full day program (09.00 to 16.00) on the Saturday (29) will see members actively sharing ideas, listening to experts and also enjoying a social dinner to be held the night prior (Friday night / 28 September). 7 india golf news Golf Industry Association and Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association sign International Affiliate Agreement The GIA Board has an ongoing desire to seek affiliations with like-minded Industry bodies from around the Asian region. Such affiliations are to exchange ideas, expertise and information for the promotion of both sustainable Golf and those involved in the Golf Industry in their respective regions. The first of such Agreements was signed recently with the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association. This specific International Affiliate Agreement has a range of benefits for both parties The AGCSA has agreed to provide a senior Golf Course Superintendent or significant representative to attend and present at the annual GIA Conference & Expo as well as to help facilitate a sponsored (through GIA) award, where a nominated Indian Golf Superintendent attends the annual AGCSA conference in Australia and also visits a number of prominent golf courses. GIA and Golf Digest India are assisting the AGCSA in promoting their Australian Turfgrass Management Journal through direct publication of selected articles and a link for subscription within the GIA web site. Both parties would share each other s logo and link to respective web sites on their own web sites. Both parties would promote their respective annual conferences. The AGCSA CEO, Mr Mark Unwin and GIA President Deepali Shah Gandhi both indicated that such an Agreement is but the first step in what is hoped to be a deepening relationship between the two Associations. There is a lot that each Association can give which will benefit both our members and the wider Golf Industry, we look forward to working with the GIA to achieve such outcomes AGCSA, CEO Mr Mark Unwin PGTI approved to be a part of Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) During the 147th. Open Championship in Carnoustie the governing Board of OWGR approved the Professional Golf Tour of India to be a part of the QWGR system from 2019, this allows PGTI events to obtain OWGR points for the players. Such a decision will mean more International players attending Indian events which in turn benefits both sponsors and prize money. For Indian Professionals the OWGR points will also assist in qualifying for the Olympics in Next step is of course a gold medal for an Indian golfer (male or female, we will take either). This is a very positive result for Indian Golf and a testament to the hard work and professionalism of PGTI.

8 TORO Workman Toro announced recently an expansion of the versatile Workman GTX line with the introduction of new electronic fuel injection (EFI) models and additional attachment options including new flatbed solid side kits, fold-down side kits and fold-down rear facing seats. The new options provide superintendents and grounds managers with more choices to build the perfect utility vehicle for each application. The Toro Workman GTX EFI models feature a closed-loop EFI system, eliminating the choke for maximum performance and reliable starting. This system continually adjusts the engine calibration for changing weather conditions and altitude, as well as the quality, grade and type of fuel. The Workman GTX line also features new attachments designed to help superintendents and grounds managers adapt to any task. The new flatbed solid side and fold-down side kits are designed to provide added flexibility for containing materials on a 6-foot flatbed. The solid side kit features a rear foldable tailgate with lanyards and durable steel sides, while the fold-down side kit allows the option for the flatbed to be used for large items when sides are not required. Each kit can be installed on any existing GTX 6-foot flatbed with no modifications. The Workman GTX is now also available with a fold-down rear-facing seat option, which provides seating for two additional passengers. It replaces the standard cargo bed and is compatible with both the standard and extended GTX models, converting them from a two- or four-passenger configuration to a four- or sixpassenger configuration, respectively. When the vehicle is not needed for transportation, the seat folds down and doubles as a flatbed with rail sides to increase the productivity of the vehicle for other needs. The new model and attachments deliver the same benefits that define the entire Workman GTX line. With over 300 unique configurations available, the Workman GTX is incredibly versatile. Superintendents and grounds managers can choose from two- or four-seat configurations with bench or bucket seats, as well as 4- or 6-foot flatbeds and a wide range of options for transporting tools and materials.
