Welcome back to the AeSki Club season. Once again, we will be presenting some great events for our members for your skiing and snow boarding pleasure. We will begin in September with discount tickets and move on in October with open house. December will start our day trips and the beginning of 2012 we have 4 week trips, followed by 3 week end u-drive trips and several more day bus trips. As a valued member, we are looking forward to you renewing your membership and joining the AeSki club family for another year of skiing and fun activities. We still need some sign ups for Lake Tahoe so please send in your deposits ASAP. Also see our web site for membership sign ups = Open house should be fun filled. We expect some great door prizes. Our committed group of volunteers promises to do our best for the club and the club members. We also welcome your suggestions and feedback. This year s Open House will take place at Maneeley s in South Windsor, CT on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 5:00-9:00pm. AeSki club news, events and trip information will be available. You can also signup or renew your club membership. Area ski shops, vendors and mountain representatives will be on hand to answer your questions. The open house will also include many door prizes and a great cash raffle. Appetizers, finger foods, snacks, plus dessert and coffee will be provided. Maneeley's cash bar will also be available. Discounted Vouchers are on sale now through at the members only site. You will need your group ID and initial password to enter. Those who have return credit letters can find their group ID next to their name. After completing the form online, you can print a copy and mail in a check or money order. It s quick and easy! 3 Volume 1, Issue9 Page 3 CSC days As a member of the AE Ski club you are also a member of the CSC (Connecticut Ski council). The CSC has announced specially priced Ski Awareness days for the upcoming season. Each member MUST show a valid AE Ski club membership card to take advantage of these days, 1 ticket per membership card, regardless of age. Vouchers are available until 1pm on each given day. AE Ski Club membership cards are mailed in November to all members who have renewed. Our website has a complete list of CSC awareness days. PLEASE VIEW THIS LISTING BEFORE MAKING YOUR DISCOUNT VOUCHER PUR- CHASE Discount Voucher Rules The following rules have been set by the ski resorts and the Connect Ski Council (CSC) and are subject to change: Voucher returns are not guaranteed At the end of the season, if accepted, unused voucher returns are limited as follows (the percent of returns are subject to change): ο Stratton -10% of your original purchase ο Magic, Mt Snow, Sugarbush, Killington and Pico 15% of your original purchase ο Okemo, Bromley and Sunapee - 20% of your original purchase The deadline for return vouchers is May 4, 2012 (subject to change) see our newsletters and website for the latest updates on the return policy Return voucher credit amounts can not be used toward membership fees Credits resulting from discount voucher orders can only be used toward the following years discount ticket voucher purchase Membership cards must be presented when redeeming vouchers for tickets. Ski resorts have the right to refuse redemption if a membership card is not presented You may not sell your vouchers(s) to anyone except other AE Ski or CSC Club members. (i.e. vouchers cannot be sold on ebay, Craig s list, parking lots, etc.) Vouchers may only be sold at face value Vouchers are numbered and recorded at time of sale and tagged back to the purchaser Violators of the rules may result in forfeiture of ticket voucher privileges, termination from the AE Ski Club and expulsion from the CSC Misplaced or stolen vouchers will NOT be replaced Guidelines will be strictly upheld in order to maintain the integrity of this program. The CSC has the right to refuse entitlement of CSC benefits to any club member who abuses the privilege, or is abusive to any ski area employee or CSC officer when the abuse concerns any promotion discount ticket program, CSC Awareness Day, CSC Kids Day, or any other CSC function or event. This stipulation may be enacted by two or more officers of the CSC. There are no exceptions to the rules presented in this letter Your cooperation with these guidelines will help keep this program going and the cost of skiing and riding down! 4 Page 4 AE SKI CLUB MEMBERSHIP UPDATE Your membership for the 2010/2011 season will expire on September 30, The membership renewals are well under way. This year AE SKI club has gone to paperless membership processing! All new and renewal of memberships is being handled on line. To renew, simply go to the website and follow the prompts to locate your existing account, update it and renew it for next year. Once you have updated any changes to your member information you can pay on line by credit card or mail in a check (as you always have). This year you will need to renew your membership online BEFORE purchasing any discount lift tickets or signing up for any of the great deals on the AE club trips. Membership rates for the 2011/2012 remain the same as last year: Individual Membership $30 Household membership $60 (cards can be printed for family members at a single address) Adult Couple $55 Adult with 1 Child under 18 $40 Senior (65+) $ Members have already renewed for 2012 Membership cards will be mailed in early November. We are coordinating this with the Connecticut Ski Council announcements and preseason lift ticket sales. Summer Golf Outing Recap Our ninth annual AE Ski Club Golf Tournament was held on August 5th at Tower Ridge Country Club in Simsbury, CT. Set beneath Hublien Tower the course offered a beautiful view of the Farmington Valley. For the 24 players participating in the tournament the day was perfect for a round of golf. The players found the course to be in excellent condition. The Country Club put out an excellent buffet meal for both lunch and dinner. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and look forward to seeing you on the slopes.
