2 The 18 th annual Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open, Kansas s only PGA (Pro Golfers Association) Tour event and one of only 30 Nationwide Tour events in the world, will take place the week of July 29 th at Crestview Country Club. More than 150 PGA Tour pros will be visiting from around the world to challenge Crestview s North Course. The Wichita Open begins on Thursday, August 2 nd and wraps up with the championship round on Sunday. This years purse of $500,000 is our highest amount ever awarded, including a winner s share of $90,000. America to perform on Saturday, July 28 Grammy-winning America stirs things up on Saturday, July 28 th at the Cox Communications Fairway Concert. The concert is free of charge and open to the public. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. at the bandstand located near the Crestview Clubhouse. Tickets are necessary and can be picked up at Cox Stores at 21 st and Rock and Douglas and Mead. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to relax and enjoy the music. No coolers will be allowed on the course. Kids kick-off The week s schedule of events for the 2007 Wichita Open begins Sunday, July 24 th with a Junior Clinic. The Wichita Open welcomes Gorges & Co. Volvo as new sponsor for this year s Junior Clinic. This event always draws a great group of kids and teaching golf professionals to the practice area at Crestview. Juniors are organized into small groups and assigned a pro player for instruction. Any child, ages 8-18 may participate. There is no charge, and the clinic begins at 11:00 a.m. Not only golf, but also giving back The Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open is much more than great championship golf. Many people do not realize that all profits raised by the Wichita Open go to Children s Miracle Network (through the Via Christi Health Foundation) to help sick and injured children in Kansas. In the past three years, the Wichita Open has donated in excess of $180,000 to CMN. Golf galore There are several more opportunities all free-of-charge for fans to get a taste of the Wichita Open golf experience before tournament play begins on Thursday. Practice Players will get a preview of the Crestview course during practice rounds Monday morning and all day Tuesday. All practice rounds are free and open to the public. Cessna Pro-Am Wednesday, August 1 see the tournament pros team with non-pros in the Cessna Pro-Am. In its first year as a major sponsor, Cessna Aircraft is taking the Pro-Am to the next level for this year and in 2008! Tee times for the morning group begin around 7:00 a.m. The afternoon groups tee off beginning at noon.

3 New in 2007 Scholfield Shoot Out On Tuesday, July 31, the Scholfield Shoot Out begins at 6:00p.m. For the first time, eight local club champions will be paired with eight Nationwide pros. These teams will participate in this hole-by-hole elimination, competing for a $2,500 purse. Newton Sand Creek Pro-Am Located in Newton, Sand Creek Pro-Am is the first time a Wichita Open event has gone off the host site. On Tuesday, July 31, 96 amateurs will be paired with 18 Nationwide pros in this first time event. 17 th Green Corporate Skyboxes A new addition this year is corporate skyboxes at the 17 th green. These boxes consist of sponsors from Wichita s business community and their guests. The 17 th Green Corporate Skybox Pavilion is sold out. Fifteen corporate sponsors have been secured in a mini-phoenix Open setting. 18 th Green Public Viewing Area This year, the public viewing area at the 18 th green is new and improved. There will be a covered prime seating area available for the public right along side the 18 th green. This is the closest to the action the public viewing area has ever been! Don t miss the action!
