2 About the 2016 Rivermead Junior Program The Rivermead Junior Program includes: 15 weekly one-hour group lessons to four different age categories (Bilingual instruction is available). Each participant will be videoed throughout the season. Instruction will cover all aspects of the game of golf. We will hold six junior tournaments at Rivermead in 2016 as part of the Kuster Kup for ages 7 to 18. Points will be awarded similar to the PGA Tour FedEx Cup. Results will be posted after every event on the Junior Board outside the Pro Shop. Juniors must play in three of the six events to qualify for prizes and the take-home winner s trophy in each age division. Juniors may participate in the Kuster Kup but choose not to be part of the competition. The Junior Club Championship will be held on Monday, July 25 and Saturday, July 30 together with Rounds 4 and 5 of the Kuster Kup. The awards presentation will take place after the final round of the Kuster Kup on Sunday, August 14. There will be three qualifying rounds for the Rivermead Roadrunners Junior Intersectional Team. All participants will play from the white tees, and the participants with the best two of three gross scores will be on the team. Team shirts will be presented to those making the Intersectional Team. The popular Parent/Mentor/Junior Spring Scramble will take place on Sunday, May 22. All nonmember parents/grandparents or mentors are welcome to play 9/18 holes with their child or junior for only $20 with all proceeds going to the Rivermead Junior Development Program. The Fall Parent/Mentor/Junior Fall Scramble will be held on Sunday, September 25. On Sunday, June 19, Rivermead will be holding its third annual Drive, Chip and Putt contest for ages from 7 to 18. This is a very popular event. Last year, five Rivermead juniors went to Vermont to compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt Contest as a regional qualifier for a chance to compete in the finals at the Augusta National, home of the Masters. This contest is lots of fun and excellent preparation for any junior who may wish to become more competitive in this event. Throughout the season the Junior Clinics will include discussions on the Rules of Golf as well as physical fitness training and instruction on the mental approach to golf. Three Junior Camps will be held in 2016 and they are limited to 15 participants per camp class. The cost is $473 plus applicable taxes per student. 1.
