2 Dear Supporter of Junior Golf, The PLAY Junior Golf Tour was established last year with the mission to give all kids the opportunity to learn and experience the game of golf by playing in a competitive, positive and safe environment through financial, developmental, and organizational support. The PJGT is more than a junior golf tour. We are a training tool for tomorrow, teaching kids disciplines and values through the game of golf that will last a lifetime. Our tour wants to provide you with a unique opportunity to show your support for these young individuals who are either just beginning golf or growing as a competitive player. These boys and girls range in age from six to sixteen and reside in a variety of locations across Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley. The coaching they receive allows them to achieve not only their goals on the golf course, but in life. Some of these athletes will look to continue playing competitively with local, provincial, and national teams, and could use your help! Competing competitively in junior golf tournaments does not come without a cost to parents. Golf is not an inexpensive sport, and often courses do not have separate rates for youth players. Green fees, memberships, equipment, travel and meals all add up when playing a full schedule of events. Last summer, junior players paid on average $25 per tournament for green fees. The PJGT is setting a goal to reduce this cost, allowing players to play more, as well as attract new players to participate in the sport. In addition to lowering the upfront cost, we are looking to increase the amount of awards, prizes, giveaways, and opportunities we can provide for the kids. We want to do more, and are asking that you join us in keeping this fantastic junior golf initiative growing! 4 Executive Summary The PLAY Junior Golf Tour (PJGT), in partnership with PLAY Sports Canada, is a grass roots development tour available to junior boys and girls ages six to sixteen. Tour members enjoy events through the summer months, vying for weekly single day stroke play events, along with a year-end tour order of merit championship. Being the inaugural year, 8 events were offered between Brockville and Morrisburg, along the St. Lawrence River. The players are given the opportunity to develop their skills on a tournament circuit, while making new friends and having fun. Our junior golfers tackle courses in Eastern Ontario varying in design and difficulty. There is no qualifier or residential restrictions, and they can play in as many, or as few, tournament as they like. 5 VISION The PLAY Junior Golf Tour envisions all kids having the opportunity to learn and experience the sport of golf by playing in a competitive and positive atmosphere. MISSION The PLAY Junior Golf Tour is committed in serving kids and parents by offering memorable golf experiences through events where the focus is on competing, enjoyment, and friendships. 6 Situation analysis PLAY Junior Golf Tour is just completing its first year of operation in the area of junior golf development, providing young golfers the opportunity to learn the game of golf by playing! By offering them the opportunity to play golf, juniors will soon recognize the enjoyment and endless possibilities the game has to offer in their lifetime. Market summary The PJGT is an organization that offers many different opportunities to a variety of individuals and groups. Built as a junior development tour for young boys and girls, the target market of the tour are children age six to twelve, who are just beginning the competitive stage of golf or who are beginning to play with other juniors for the first time versus golfing with other adults. The tour encourage older kids as well, but recognizes by the age of 13, he or she is already playing competitively or is interested in other activities. The market in Eastern Ontario for this type of tour is extremely opportunistic and ready to take off. Currently, the area between Renfrew, south to Kingston, and east to Cornwall, including Ottawa, there are approximately 140 golf facilities spread throughout the 18,000 km area. The PJGT focused primarily on the golf courses along the St. Lawrence Seaway for the first year, but has the opportunity to expand rapidly throughout the entire Ottawa valley and surrounding area. There is an abundance of junior golfers in this area of interest, which are not only are developing an interest in the game but are looking to compete. a. Competition Ottawa Valley Golf Association (OVGA) this is the largest of the competitors as they offer approximately 20 events from May until September. The OVGA has the history and reputation behind their tournaments but limits who and when they can play. It will only take the junior player who is 9 years of age and only about half of the events are open tournaments, as the others you need to qualify for. PGA Ottawa has a small tour very similar to the PJGT, as it only offers 5 events even though it has been running since Similar to the OVGA, it has the support of its golf professionals but also has an age requirement of 10 to participate. Canadian Junior Golf Association this would be the organization with the biggest reputation and operates very similar to the PJGT. The biggest drawback of the CJGA is that it only offers one event in this region. 6

All press releases will read PJGT presented by PJGT Individual Tournament Sponsor $ Each of the 8 individual tournaments will be named after the sponsoring business. PJGT Official Hole Sponsor $150 per event At each event, there will be a select hole bearing the name of a sponsor, awarding a prize in the event of a hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, etc. PJGT Order of Merit Sponsor $500 A year-long points system is used to track players; as they receive points for tournaments entered and how they finish. End of the season plaques are awarded to the winners. Official Product(s) of the PJGT $250 Sponsors have the opportunity to promote products at PJGT events by setting up booths or displays to advertise. PJGT Partner $100 In addition to media promotion from the tour and website advertising, sponsor has the opportunity to conduct product promotions at selected events as well as joining a business network published by the tour for parents. Putting Green/Driving Range Sponsor $75 Signage on the practice green or driving range at the tournament site. PJGT Player Profile Sponsor $50-75 Business will be featured on the PJGT website as a sponsor to a particular player. 9
