2 Featured Guest Speaker Conference Schedule Hall of Flame Mike Shilts, K & K Management Solutions The NPDA is pleased to welcome Mr. Mike Shilts as this year s featured guest speaker. Mr. Shilts will be presenting It s Not Rocket Science, a dynamic and highly interactive session which includes numerous real-world situations to illustrate how Nevada owners and leaders can identify and utilize key metrics to make critical decisions in a highly competitive economic environment. Mr. Shilts has 40 years of diverse business experience, including a Fortune 200 company (Lockheed Martin), and has held leadership positions in the insurance, manufacturing, homebuilding, food service and real estate industries. Mr. Shilts also has over 20 years industry experience with a multi-state independent propane marketer and currently as the VP of Marketing for K & K Management Solutions. He has also assisted over 75 small businesses as an independent consultant for primarily privately and family held firms throughout the county. Mr. Shilts has spoken many times to small business owners and leaders at many conventions, conferences, trade shows, state conventions and clients on-site. He attended Marquette University and earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Akron and a M.A. in Finance/Accounting from Ohio State University. He is also a CPA and prior MBA instructor for the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. For many years, David has been an instrumental contributor to both the NPDA and the Nevada propane industry as a whole. David began his propane career in 1972 as a welder/fabricator for Pacific Gas Equipment Company, which was purchased by AmeriGas in In 1975, he moved to the retail side of the business and over the next 28 years, he held every job retail has to offer, including driver, district manager, area manager and corporate development. In 2000, he had the opportunity to move to Nevada to work all of the AmeriGas locations as an area sales manager. After being recruited by Bud Wolf to join the NPDA, David became actively involved in the Association serving as the NPDA president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, district director and conference chairman. In 2012, he relocated to Washington State to help with the merger in the Northwest and continue as an area sales manager for the Northwest and Alaska. David s entire 45 year tenure in the industry has been with one company and he will be retiring from AmeriGas on March 1, Please join us as we present David with the 2017 Hall of Flame Award on the evening of September 7th at the Edgewood Country Club.
