Following a brief update on the status of things, Board members and staff will be available to answer questions or hear suggestions you might have relative to club operations and plans, as well as testing out our ideas on you. We got a lot of rain on the course. However the good news is that the drains on the greens are working. Unfortunately the fairways are not. Next month has to look up we are hoping. We did not get the St Patrick s Day Tournament in but I am looking forward to the Scrambled Eggs Tournament on 22 April. We have had a few changes to the VSGA Programs that are used for tournament set up. With the new system each tournament will have its own website on the internet. Please be patient as I went to a class for it but it is a lot of information to process and it will take time for me to get familiar with it. We have also purchased a launch monitor for the pro shop. This tells you all the information about your swing and ball flight. Sinjin and I are familiarizing ourselves with it and hope to have you using it shortly. Aeration of the course will be on 25 th and 26 th of April. There will be no play on the 25 th and sometime in the afternoon of the 26 th one of the nine will be open hopefully. Remember most scoring occurs within 100 yards of the Hole. Thanks for your support James, Sinjin, Todd, and Sarah

7 TENNIS NEWS 1. When the weather is right, get out and use the courts; the tapes have held down well although there is not a lot of material left. The current plan is to have the new material delivered on March 27, with application soon thereafter. 2. If all goes well, the Monday Night Men's Tennis Program will begin again on April 17th. 3. Friday Night Social Tennis was a success last year. Friday play will begin on April 28th. This year play on Friday nights will begin at 4: Currently, there are two Open Doubles Tournaments scheduled. They will be on Saturday, June 17th and Saturday, July 15th. They will be open to all players, No sign up is needed, and the play will begin at 9:00 A.M. Light refreshments will be available. 5. The Annual Tennis Dinner is scheduled for Friday, November 3rd. 6. Do not forget that racket restringing is available in the Pro Shop with Todd. The Tennis Committee As I sit at my computer writing this, I m wondering what happened to spring. Yes, according to the calendar, it is spring, but in reality, going by the temperatures, it must still be winter. Oh, well, spring will be here soon, hopefully. The LGA held its opening meeting on March 21st. First we took care of routine business paying dues, reading and approving the minutes from the last meeting, and looking at the proposed budget and approving it. Then we turned our attention to fun things--the schedule of tournaments for Ladies Day. Our Vice President, Melanie Giangrant, has found some new and exciting formats for the tournaments which are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of most months. We are looking forward to each of those. In fact, our first Tuesday tournament was on March 28th. Results of that tournament will be published in the next newsletter. For those who are interested, let s plan to meet at 9:00am on the Tuesdays that are not tournament days. We will divide into foursomes and play. We encourage ladies who are new to the club to come out and join us. It doesn t matter if you are a beginner or have been playing for years. All ladies who are members of the club are welcome. For the lady golfers of the club who are former members of the LGA, we encourage you to rejoin the group. Give us another opportunity to make your time on the course enjoyable.
