2 BIG SIR MIKE JOHSON No Report The Big Sir is on vacation Xmas tickets will be on sale at the next meeting Big Sir Mike Johnson LITTLE SIR DAVE MOORE Alright how did we get to October so fast? Now we have leaves to rake, gutters to clean, and the search for a great pumpkin. It seems like just yesterday I finished my list of things to complete this summer. As a matter of fact it was, that s why not one item has been scratched off yet. Oh well, that is the great thing about retirement, I can save it for next summer. I hope everyone enjoyed the luncheon this month. Our speakers Marshal and Mary Schaefer along with Carol Lewis from the Sterling City Historical Society gave a good presentation on Sterling City. Check out their web site and make a day trip to the museum and historical society complex in Sterling City. This area is rich in history and interesting areas to visit. We also have outstanding businesses in our area. One that stands out among all others is the nationally recognized Sierra Nevada Brewery. From starting the micro-brewery revolution to energy innovation, sustainability, community cooperative business, events, and national expansion it s a story to be told. I m working to have a representative from Sierra Nevada as our guest speaker for October to share their incredible story. This weekend Oct. 1 st and 2 nd is Johnny Appleseed Days and thanks to the Moose Lodge we will have an information booth at the park. This will be our opportunity to get the story of SIR s out to the public and hopefully bring new members into our branch. I want to thank all of you who volunteered to help out with manning the booth. You made it possible. Don t forget to mark your calendars for the Christmas Dinner, it will be Saturday December 10 th. Tickets should be on sale at our October luncheon. This is a fun and festive event enjoyed by all and a great chance to show off your dancing skills, or not. Wonderful fall trip. Weather was surprisingly warm and pleasant. We have a lot of trips planned, starting now thru December 2017.Including trips to Nashville over New Years, Azaleas, Plantations& Cajuns in the spring, River Cruises in Europe, River Cruises on the Columbia and Mississippi Via Riverboats and a beautiful Land/Sea tour on Princess Cruises in Alaska. Just too many to list. Whatever Travel you are interested in talk to me and see if we have something that fits. Remember our day trip to see Beach Blanket Babylon is right around the corner on November 20, Our cutoff is soon. If you wish to go, I need to know to accommodate you. $192 per person includes all transportation to San Francisco, Tickets to the performance and a meal at a nice restaurant. I will send updates as I get them. Your trail boss s are making them up now Bernie: We need to book our trips ahead of time so we can get a head count. You can always cancel if you can t make it. But you need to call your trail boss and let them know you are planning on going. We know things come up and you may have to cancel. Most cancelations are 1 or2 weeks before the trip.
