5 Youth Contest General Rules Quizbowl This Contest is for Juniors and Pre-Juniors per ARBA Guidelines. Both age groups will compete together. Questions will come from the same resources listed for the test in the royalty guidelines. In this contest each contestant gets a buzzer. Questions will be asked and the contestant who buzzes in first will get a chance to answer. Show Dedications 2019 ISRBA DEDICATION Zayne Hunter In recognition of and in appreciation for your many years of dedicated service to the rabbit breeders of Indiana! Each round will consist of 20 questions. Should we have more than 8 contestants pools will be chosen at random. The scores from this contest will determine Team Indiana for the National Quizbowl. Educational Contests Entries are pre-entry only. Exhibits must be educational or promotional on rabbits or cavies or be included in their design. A contestant may enter as many classes as he or she chooses, however they may only place one exhibit in the top 3 of each class. They do not have to enter Royalty in order to enter the showmanship contest. Contestants do not have to pre-enter, but are encouraged to do so. Entry at the convention must be prior to 7:00 am on Saturday. 2) Showmanship is open to the Lord/Lady and Prince/Princess age contestants. 3) Showmanship will be judged according to ARBA guidelines. SHOW- MANSHIP will replace the judging portion of the Prince/Princess contest and be added to the Lord/Lady Competition. Judging Contest Contestants may enter the judging contest only, if they wish. They do not have to enter Royalty in order to enter the judging contest. Contestants do not have to pre-enter, but are encouraged to do so. Entry at the convention must be prior to 7:00 am on Saturday. This contest is not open to the beginner level. The three levels will judge three (3) classes of four (4) rabbits. The list of breeds and classes that are sound will be posted. Example: If a class is marked as sound for sex and there is one buck in a doe class, then it is to be judged as a doe. Contestants will have seven (7) minutes to judge each class of four (4) rabbits and/or cavies. Youth may use their Standard of Perfection when judging. An ARBA judge or judges prior to the start of the contest will place all classes. Winners will be those who have placed animals nearest to the placing of the judge(s).

7 Youth Contest General Rules Breed Identification Contest Contestants may enter only the breed identification contest, if they wish. They do not have to enter Royalty in order to enter the breed identification contest. They do not have to pre-enter to compete but are encouraged to do so. Entry at the convention must be prior to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. Contestants will identify the breed, showroom classification, and the registration variety of twenty-five (25) rabbits and/or cavies. Example: American Chinchilla must be spelled out not abbreviated chin. 8:00 a.m. Breed Identification Contest closes Judging and Showmanship Contests begin The ISRBA Youth Rabbit judging will not start until 10 am Saturday to allow more time for the Contests to be completed. Sunday 8:00 a.m. Quizbowl Youth Meeting after Best in Show has been announced. Winners will be announced at this time. Important NOTICES!!! Be sure you Note the Contest Schedule. Arrive early and have an organized plan, so your parents don t have to do your rabbit check-in and caging without your HELP! Correct spelling is not mandatory but the word should be recognizable. There will be a special animal set up in the event of a tie. The contestants that tie will be recalled to break the tie. Parents we will still have our Silent Auction Fundraiser! Entries must be postmarked by midnight February 9, Fees: Open & Youth One Show: $4.50 per rabbit Both Shows: $7.00 per rabbit $2.00 per rabbit for fur class $7.00 per meat class entry (Meat Pen, Fryer, Roaster, Stewer, Saturday Only) All-Breed Day-of-Show entries accepted prior to 8:00 AM at $6.00/entry $1 per ear number Change NO COOPING - CARRYING CAGE SHOW Only Youth Contest General Rules Royalty Contest Youth must meet the age requirements as listed in the General Rules. Information for the test will be taken from the ARBA Official Guidebook, the ARBA Yearbook, the ARBA Standard of Perfection, the ARBA Domestic Rabbit Guide, issues of Domestic Rabbits from Jan/Feb, 2016 to present, the Hoosier News, and the ARBA Web Site Lord/Lady and Prince/ Princess Contest will consist of a written test, Rabbit and Cavy identification (25 animals), and Showmanship per the ARBA guidelines available online. Duke/Duchess and King/Queen Contests will consist of a written test, Rabbit and Cavy identification (25 species) and Judging 3 classes of 4 rabbits. Contestant is responsible for adjusting show schedule to complete events in a timely manner. **Note schedule of events** Saturday: All contestants must Check-in before 7:00 a.m. at Youth booth in showroom, the written test will begin promptly at 7: 30am. No contestant may start the test once a contestant has completed and left the testing area, prior to his or her arrival. Breed ID will begin at 7:30 a.m. and close at 8:00 a.m., Judging and Showmanship will begin at 8:00 a.m. The score from the three contests will be added together to determine royalty winners. Ties will be broken using one species to ID or at least one question. Extra help will be provided for reading the test and/or writing rabbit identification responses. Please indicate on the entry form if assistance is needed, so a non-partisan helper can be obtained ahead of time. There is some flexibility in the order of competition. The check-in on Saturday by 7:00 a.m. is a must. The test must be taken on Saturday morning at 7:30 am. Breed Id will start Saturday at 7:30 am, but contestant must have completed or be waiting in line at the closing time 8:00 a.m., to compete. Judging will start at 8:00am. It is the contestant s responsibility to complete all parts of the competition. Note the schedule: If competing in Royalty you will take the test then line up for Breed ID. This will cut down on your standing and waiting time.

9 Youth Contest General Rules Royalty contest is early entry only. Entries must be postmarked by Monday, February 4th Entries postmarked after this date will not be accepted. There is no entry fee for the Royalty Contest. Contestants, who do not sign up for Royalty, but choose to compete in the individual Judging, Breed ID, and/or Showmanship are also encouraged to pre-enter. Entries will be accepted at the convention. Deadline for sign-up at the convention for the Individual Judging and Breed ID is 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. Contest entries MUST be mailed to: Sabine Urbanus 6748 N Carroll Rd. Indianapolis, IN Contestants must enter according to their age on the last day of the ARBA National Convention October 23, The only exception being King/Queen category, if you are too old for Nationals, you may still compete at the state level. King and Queen (Senior Division): Must be 15 through 18 years of age. Minimum age is for youth who ve reached their fifteenth birthday and have not reached their nineteenth birthday. Note: If a contestant qualifies as a youth member at the time of the State Convention, but has a birthday before the end of the national convention preventing participation there, you may still compete at the state level. Duke and Duchess (Intermediate Division): Must be 12 through 14 years of age. Minimum age is for youth that have reached their twelfth birthday and not had their fifteenth. Prince and Princess (Junior Division): Must be 9 through 11 years of age. Minimum age is for youth that have reached their ninth birthday and have not had their twelfth. Lord and Lady (Pre Junior Division): Must be less than 9 years of age. Contestants may enter the educational contests (i.e. crafts) even if they are unable to attend the Convention by finding someone to provide transportation of items to and from the Convention. An ISRBA Youth meeting will be held immediately following the announcement of Best in Show for the youth on Sunday. Announcements of all winners will be during this meeting. NO Rabbits will be released until the conclusion for this meeting. Please include a photocopy of your ARBA membership card, as well as a copy of your ISRBA card. Must be a member of the ISRBA to compete. These are needed to verify that you qualify to participate in the contests. 12 AD ISRBA ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION SHOW RULES 10. Substitutions are allowed only in the same BREED, VARIETY, CLASS, AND SEX. All substitutions must be made through the show secretary by 8:00 A.M. Saturday, February 23rd OR Sunday, February 24th. NO SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED ONCE JUDGING BEGINS! ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGES ALLOWED AT THE TABLE! 11. All rabbits not having a permanent and legible tattoo in the left ear shall be disqualified. 12. Exhibitors will be responsible for getting their own animals to and from the show table. Classes will be called three (3) times after which the judge will continue WITHOUT any missing animals. 13. Youth rabbits must be carried to and from the show table by YOUTH ONLY. 14. Guaranteed specials (those provided by ISRBA or donations) will be paid regardless of the number of rabbits shown in a class. Other breed specials will only be paid provided ten (10) or more rabbits are shown in the breed. (Section 18-ARBA Show Rules). 15. ISRBA entry form must be used. Clearly mark entries as OPEN or YOUTH. All entries not clearly marked will be placed in OPEN. 16. A registrar will be present for those wishing to have animals registered. 17. No breeding of rabbits permitted inside the showroom or on show grounds without consent of Show Superintendent. 18. Any breed sanctioned for this show having less than ten (10) animals exhibited will NOT be sanctioned the following year unless paid for by an exhibitor/sponsor. 19. All breeds not mentioned in the official show catalog will receive Best of Breed ribbon and ribbon for Best Opposite Sex, provided ten (10) or more animals are shown in the breed or awards of equal value. 20. Youth ribbons will be awarded in all regular classes to third (3rd) place and must be picked up at the show. No ribbons will be mailed. No general premiums offered or paid for this show. More information will be posted in the showroom

13 ISRBA ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION SHOW RULES 1. This show will be governed by the latest rules of the ARBA, and filing of entries indicates acceptance of same. 2. Rabbits must show in Show A to in order to show in Show B. 3. The ISRBA will not be responsible in case of fire, theft, accidents, or providential destruction. However, every precaution will be taken to prevent same. 4. The ISRBA reserves the right to substitute judges in the event of inability of the first selection to officiate. Additional judges may be hired, or Open and Youth judging assignments may be altered to accommodate the number of entries received. 5. Specials received too late for publication in the catalog will be posted by the showroom office. 6. The showroom will be open for animals in carry cages on Friday, February 22nd, from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 PM and will reopen at 6:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23rd. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN PLACE AND CHECKED IN WITH THE SHOW SECRETARY BY 8:00 A.M. ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd AND SUNDAY, FEB- RUARY 24th. NO ENTRIES WILL BE RELEASED UNTIL THE OFFICIAL CONCLUSION OF THE SHOW AS INDICATED BY THE SELECTION OF BOTH OPEN AND YOUTH BEST IN SHOW ON EACH SHOW DAY. ABSOLUTELY NO EARLY RELEASES PERMITTED! EXHIBITORS FOUND REMOVING ANIMALS FROM THE SHOWROOM PRIOR TO THE OFFICIAL CONCLUSION OF THE SHOW SHALL FORFEIT ALL WINNINGS AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO FURTHER ACTION BY THE ISRBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ALL RABBITS IN THE SHOWROOM MUST BE ENTERED IN THE SHOW. 7. Shipped-in rabbits are NOT accepted. 8. Fur entries, unless otherwise indicated, will be placed in the respective BREED FUR CLASS. 9. Stock showing signs of sickness or disease will be removed from the showroom at the discretion of the Show Superintendent and the Show Committee.
