3 CHAPTER 3 - TECHNICAL 3.1 SCRUTINEERING Scrutineering will commence at 0730 on Friday 22 nd July BODYWORK Delete Rule C6.1.8 and replace with the following: The minimum weight for any front bumper bar with freestanding headlights, excluding its mounting system, is 12.5kg 13.5kg The minimum weight for any front bumper bar and headlights moulded as a unitary item, excluding its mounting system, is 15.5kg 16.5kg Teams are allowed to ballast their front bumper bar to achieve the minimum weight stipulated in C6.1.8 and C The ballast must be securely attached to the bar at a location suitable to the Teams. 3.3 CONTROL PARTS Delete table 5. 5 Any Car that was is delayed and that leaves the grid prior to the last Car without an obvious problem crossing the Start Line will be permitted to overtake and reclaim their original starting position Any Car that was is stationary after all Cars without an obvious problem have crossed the starting line Start Line may not overtake another moving Car and must form up at the back of the line of Cars behind the SC If more than one (1) Driver is affected, they must form up at the back of the field in the order they left the grid Any Car starting from Pit Lane exit will be considered to have come under starter s orders if they are at or approaching Pit Lane exit at the start of the race. A Car may only start on the direction of an Official, and only after the rest of the field has passed the Pit Lane exit behind the SC The SC will withdraw in the prescribed manner when directed by the RD The race will be considered started when the leading Car crosses the Control Line at the end of that lap Cars starting from Pit Lane exit will be considered to have come under starter s orders if they are at or approaching pit exit when the lead Car crosses the Control Line to start the race. 4.3 MARKINGS ON CARS Delete Rules D and D Any font used must be legible by both timekeepers and trackside officials. 4.4 TYRE ALLOCATION AND USAGE Delete Rule D and replace with the following: In addition to a Team s V8 Supercars Test tyre allocation and those listed in the Table D all VCS Cars are permitted one set of four (4) pre marked hard compound tyres for the Championship year for the sole purpose of warming up a Car only at an Event, including qualifying. These tyres are also permitted to be used for a True Colour Track Walk session. These tyres must be used as a set of four (4) Delete Rule D and replace with the following: Tyres allocated for the 2016 V8 Supercars Challenge, held at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit from 17 to 20 March , are not permitted to be used at any Event, apart from the exclusive additional Driver sessions at Winton and Queensland Raceway. 4.5 COMPULSORY PIT STOPS Delete Rule D and replace with the following: For race 16 the following will apply in addition to Rule D12.1: All Cars must complete a minimum of one (1) Compulsory Pit Stop (CPS) A Car may only complete its CPS after the leader commences lap five (5) If the leader commences lap five (5) by exiting Pit Lane after completing a pit stop as detailed below, it will be considered to have completed its CPS During the CPS it is a requirement of each Car to stop in their Pit Bay and change a minimum of four (4) tyres. This means that the wheels and Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 5

6 tyres being removed from the Car cannot be replaced in the same location or any other location on the Car, during that stop The Penalty for failure to complete a CPS will be a time Penalty added to that Car s race time Should the safety car be deployed prior to the leader commencing lap 5, and the safety car period continues after the commencement of lap 5, the CPS window will not open. Teams will be updated as to when the window will open via RMC and the LAN If a Car enters the Pit Lane entry road at the end of its fourth lap under green conditions and a safety car is deployed prior to them crossing the Control Line, they will be considered to have satisfied provided they have completed that set out in CHAPTER 5 - OPERATIONS 5.1 ACCESS TO PADDOCK The set-up of the Supercars paddock will be at the discretion of Supercars Teams must not enter the Supercars paddock before 1200 on Thursday 21 st July Teams are not permitted to set up any equipment in their garage prior to transporter unload With the exception of Supplementary Regulation 2.2.3, no passenger vehicles are to enter the Supercars paddock after 1200 on Thursday 21 st July RACE TRACK WALK Teams are permitted to undertake their Race Track walk on Thursday 21 st July 2016 between 1400 and Teams are further permitted to undertake their Race Track walk on Friday 22 nd July 2016 between 0800 and All Team Personnel participating in the Race Track walk must wear a high visibility vest. 5.3 BRIEFINGS A briefing for Competitor s Team Managers will be held at 1030 on Friday 22 nd July 2016 in the Supercars Paddock Club, located on Corporate Hill A briefing for all Competitors and Drivers will be held at 1800 on Friday 22 nd July 2016 in the Supercars Paddock Club, located on Corporate Hill. 5.4 TYRE FITTINGS Control tyre fitting will commence from 1400 on Thursday 21 st July 2016 in the Dunlop facility located in the Supercars paddock. 5.5 TRANSPORTER DEPARTURE AFTER THE EVENT Unless otherwise advised by Supercars, no Team transporter will be permitted to move from its allocated position or leave the Supercars paddock prior to 1900 hours on Sunday 24 th July Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 6

7 5.6 RIDES PROHIBITIONS Delete Rule E1.3.3 and replace with the following: E1.3.3 During any Event ride session it is forbidden to jack up any part of a Car for any purpose other than to allow spinning of the wheels by hand to aid in brake cooling. The raising and lowering must be done with a spike tap in a controlled manner. A Car cannot be lowered to the ground before the passenger door is shut. It is forbidden to jack up any part of a DVS Car without the express prior permission of the CTM S&TD. CHAPTER 6 - MARKETING 6.1 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE Teams must adhere to the activities outlined in the promotional schedule and/or any subsequent updates as provided by Supercars. 6.2 GRID WALK Where permitted, movement of non-team personnel on and off the grid must only be via the point/s as described in the Team Manager s Briefing Promotional Staff, Drivers and those listed on the D24 personnel list are the only people permitted on the grid in addition to those that are wearing a grid sticker. 6.3 TRANSPORTER PARADE The transporter parade will be held on Thursday 21 st July The transporter parade schedule will be as follows: hrs: All vehicle and transporter operators to be ready for a driver briefing, to be held at the rear of the control tower at Queensland Raceway hrs: Convoy to depart from Queensland Raceway accompanied by police escort hrs: Approximate return time to Queensland Raceway.
