Friends of Strays Animal Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit organization founded in 1978 in St. Petersburg, FL. We are dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless pets. Our mission is to inspire compassion for all animals, provide shelter and humane care to homeless animals, and promote adoptions and responsible pet guardianship in our community. Through our efforts, we envision a safe and loving home for every adoptable animal and humane treatment for all.

2 Shuffle for Strays Shuffleboard Tournament May 6, 2018 Friends of Strays will host its first shuffleboard 2018 tournament at the historic St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club on May 6, Teams of 2 will compete for prizes at this fun and family-friendly Sunday afternoon event. Team tickets are $50 and include tournament entry fee, commemorative event t-shirts, BBQ, and one drink ticket per team member. 3 Alley Cats Bowling Tournament July 21, 2018 Friends of Strays will host its first bowling 2018 BOWLING TOURNAMENT tournament at Sunrise Lanes. Teams of 5 will compete for prizes at this fun and familyfriendly Sunday afternoon event. Team tickets are $125 and include three games of bowling; a buffet including spaghetti with marinara sauce, meatballs, tossed salad, dinner rolls; one drink ticket per person; and a commemorative event t-shirt for each team member. 4 2nd Annual Wags and Whiskers: Disco Fever October 20, 2018 Celebrating our 40th anniversary with a disco-themed gala at the fabulous Duncan McClellan Gallery. This year s event will feature Matthew McGee as emcee, dancing to disco music and hits of the 70s, a glass blowing demo, and a program highlighting the life-saving work of our organization. Tickets are $75 and include an open bar and heavy hors d oeuvres. 6 4th Annual Quest for the Emerald Paw December 8, 2018 Teams of up to four will embark on a whirlwind scavenger hunt through the city of St. Petersburg, competing for fun, prizes and the opportunity to help Friends of Strays, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless companion animals. Registration is $100 per team and includes an event t-shirt and tote bag for each team member.
