4 #AUWBB vs. #WBB HANDLING THE BALL AU continues to lead the Patriot League with a league-low 13.1 turnovers per game and ranks second behind (+5.38) with a turnover margin after forcing an average of 15.9 per game. American s 13.1 turnovers per game is the lowest for the team since when the Eagles averaged 12.9 per game. The Eagles have capitalized off their opponents ball handling misshaps, converting 207 turnovers to 213 points for an average of 16.4 ppg. American s opponents, on the other hand, average only 10.6 points off turnovers per game for a +5.8 scoring margin. Seven Eagles have put in 20:00+ games without a single turnover - Cecily Carl (3), Elina Koskimies (2), Maria Liddane (2), Emily Kinneston (1), Michael Harris (1), Kaitlyn Lewis (1), Katie Marenyi (1). Carl, Koskimies and Liddane have also put in at least one game each over 30:00 without giving up a turnover. THE SECOND HALF GRIND AU has outscored nine of its 13 opponents in the second half, averaging a +2.9 point margin with 32.8 ppg to 29.9 ppg in the final two quarters. The fourth quarter has particularly been an area of dominance for the Eagles, as they have outscored their opponents 17.8 ppg to 14.8 ppg in the final 10 minutes of regulation. The Eagles have bounced back from three first half deficits this season against Vermont (11/24), Denver (12/9) and Penn State (12/20). Penn State led AU all the way up until the fourth quarter, when an 11-0 run in the final four minutes put AU even with the Lady Lions at The Eagles held Penn State to only 10 points in the fourth quarter after they averaged 15.0 points through the first three. AU trailed Vermont, 39-26, at the half before putting up a 3-26 second half to claim the two-point victory, The Eagles went on a second half run against Denver to overcome the two-point halftime deficit and walk away with the win. AU also put up a strong second half performance against Villanova, nearly erasing the 15-point halftime disadvantage with a second half run. George Mason remains the only team who has beaten the Eagles in the second half after trailing in the first. The 26 points in the fourth quarter against Denver is the highest single-quarter performance for the Eagles yet this season. DANGEROUS IN EXTRA TIME The Eagles are 2-0 in overtime games so far this season after beating Youngstown State (78-72) and Penn State (75-66). AU has outscored its opponents, 34-19, in overtime this season. The team hit a program-high last season with five overtime games. The Eagles averaged only 6.4 points in extra time last season, though, and were bested by four of their five OT opponents with a total tally of AU s only overtime victory last season was at home against George Washington, TEAM RANKINGS Stat Actual PL NCAA Scoring Offense Scoring Defense Scoring Margin FG Percentage FG Defense FG Percentage FG Defense FT Percentage Offensive Defensive Rebounding Offense Rebounding Defense Rebounding Margin Turnovers per Game Turnover Margin Assist/Turnover Ratio Blocked Shots per Game Assists per Game Steals per Game Win-Loss Percentage INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS Player Stat Actual PL NCAA Kinneston Points per game Carl Points per game Carl per game Kinneston per game Kinneston Assists per game Liddane Assists per game Kinneston Assist/Turnover Ratio Carl Blocks per game Kinneston Steals per game Kinneston FT Percentage Koskimies 3FG per game Carl 3FG per game Lewis 3FG per game Kinneston Minutes per game Carl Minutes per game STAKES IN THE STARTING FIVE Of the AU starters this year, three return after consistenly starting in with junior Cecily Carl, senior Emily Kinneston and senior Maria Liddane. Junior Michael Harris made the starting lineup five times last season, and junior Elina Koskimies four. Liddane currently holds the longest run in the starting lineup at 57 consecutive games, dating back to her sophomore season. Kinneston follows with 44 consecutive games after she started all 31 last season. Both Liddane and Kinneston have started 66 games in their careers, followed by Carl with 59. THAT 1-2 PUNCH Senior Emily Kinneston and junior Cecily Carl are one of the strongest duos in the Patriot League, averaging 24.9 ppg and 13.3 rpg. The pair is responsible for 39 percent of American s point tally with 840 total points, and have brought down 38 percent of all rebounds with 452. Together, Kinneston and Carl are shooting 40.9 percent from the field, compared to AU s opponents 36.1 percent. KOSKIMIES WITH THE HOT HAND Junior Elina Koskimies matched her career-high point-for-point against Colgate on Monday. With a performance reminiscent of her 17-point effort against last season (Feb. 22), Koskimies had one of the top perimeter shooting percentages in AU history with 83.3 percent (5-for-6) against Colgate on Monday. Both games tie for No. 3 in AU s single-game record book for 3-point field goal percentage alongside Alexis Dobbs 5-for-6 effort against Drexel on 2012.

5 #AUWBB vs. #WBB Koskimies sits just behind junior Kaitlyn Lewis on that top-ten list. Lewis is currently tied with Nicole Ryan for AU s single-game 3-point percentage record after landing 5 of 5 against UMBC last season. Koskimies and Lewis are the only two active players to have hit 5+ treys in a single game. That was not Koskimies first career performance this season. She hit new single-game highs in blocks (3)k, steals (4) and minutes (35). She is currently shooting a career-high 47.1 percent from the perimeter, and averaging career-highs in rebounding (3.2 rpg) and points (6.5 ppg). KINNESTON LEADING THE WAY Senior Emily Kinneston is maintaining career-high numbers with a.453 field goal percentage (63-for- 139), 13.6 ppg, and 5.5 rpg. Kinneston is one of two players in the Patriot League to be ranked in the top-16 for points (No. 6), rebounds (No. 16), assists (No. 2) and steals (No. 5). Maryland s Stephanie Karcz is the only other to match her across the board. Kinneston surpassed the 20-point mark for the third time this season against Penn State, leading the team with 23 points. In recognition of her performance against the Lady Lions, Kinneston earned her first career Patriot League Player of the Week selection. This was also the first weekly honor for the Eagles since the season when Cecily Carl and Kaitlyn Lewis both earned nods from the league. She tied her single-game career-high against Denver after she led the Eagles with 26 points. Kinneston currently holds two of the top-five single-game point tallies in the Gebbia-era with her 26 against last year (1/5/2017) and again against Denver this season. 1. Jen Dumiak, 30 points (1/31/15 vs. ) 2. Emily Kinneston, 26 points (1/5/17 at ) - Kinneston, 26 points (12/9/17 vs. Denver) 3. Alexis Dobbs, 25 points (12/16/13 vs. Mt. St. Mary s) 4. Emily Kinneston, 25 points (11/10/17 at Tulsa) 5. Alexis Dobbs, 24 points (3/20/14 at Seton Hall) She is also one of two players in the Gebbia-era to have hit over 20 points in a season opener alongside Alexis Dobbs, who scored 21 against Maryland-Eastern Shore (11/12/2013). Since then, Kinneston has landed in the double-figures in all but four games this season after being held to only five points during the Eagles loss to Delaware, eight points against UMBC, six at George Washington, and nine against. Kinneston made up for both low-scoring performances on the boards, though, as she led the team with 11 rebounds against UMBC, and was No. 2 on the team with eight against Delaware. She also led the team with four assists against Delaware, five against UMBC, and 3 assists and two steals against. Among those double-figure games was a thrilling performance against Vermont, where Kinneston helped lead the Eagles fourth quarter surge, eventually hitting the buzzer-beater to win the game off a baseline drive after an inbound from junior Elina Koskimies. After only averaging 2.8 ppg and 5.8 ppg her freshman and sophomore seasons, Kinneston exploded on the scene last season, putting up 12.9 ppg and totaling 399 for the season. CARL LEADING ON THE BOARDS For the third time this season, junior Cecily Carl has put up back-to-back double-figure performances to lead the Eagles in scoring. She has put up team-high numbers in both conference games so far, starting with 16 points against, then 18 against Colgate. Carl became one of four Eagles to have put up back-to-back double-doubles under head coach Megan Gebbia against Vermont and Villanova during the TD Bank Classic in Burlington, Vt. Jen Dumiak ( ), Michelle Holmes ( ) and Lauren Crisler ( ) are the only three Eagles to have put up consecutive double-doubles since She led the team with 10 rebounds and tied her career-high with 21 points against Vermont before returning to post another career-high with 14 rebounds and 11 points against Villanova. These were a long time coming for Carl, who had fallen just shy of double-doubles against Tulsa (9 pts., 11 reb.) and Delaware (9 pts., 10 reb.). She came into the season with five double-doubles from her freshman (two) and sophomore (three) campaigns. HARRIS MAKING IT COUNT Senior Michael Harris continues to hold the highest shooting percentage on the team with a career-high 49.1 percent from the field. She also leads the team with her career numbers, shooting 45.5 percent from the floor throughout her time as an Eagle. She reached a new career-high with 17 points against George Washington, leading the team 47.1 percent from the floor (8-for-17). She opened the season with a career-high tying 16 points and two blocks against Tulsa. Since then, Harris has broken single-game records in rebounds, assists, field goals, 3-point field goals and minutes. She led the team with seven rebounds against La Salle and 15 points against George Mason. TAKING HANDOUTS Sophomore Katie Marenyi has stepped up to hit some key free throws for the Eagles this season, including shooting a perfect 6-for-6 during overtime against Penn State to help build AU s final ninepoint lead. She is shooting 75 percent (18-for-24) from the line so far this season. The young guard has been gaining key experience this season, and has been a consistent presence off the bench. She is averaging 4.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.5 apg, and 0.8 steals in her 17.2 minutes per game. She sparked some key plays during the Eagles comeback victory over Vermont, contributing a career-high four steals including the forced turnover in the final 10 seconds of the game that set AU up for its late 5-4 run. She put up a perfect scoreline during the Eagles loss to Delaware, shooting 3-of-3 from the field, 1-of-1 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the line

6 in her 17 minutes of play. She also contributed three assists and a team-high two steals. She had a career-high performance during the win over La Salle, hitting 12 points during her 21 minutes of play, including an three early in the third quarter to tie the game before leading the team down the final stretch with five points late in the fourth. LEADING THE RESERVES Junior Kaitlyn Lewis has been a key performer for the Eagles off the bench, putting up four double-figure performances to rank fourth on the team with 7.2 ppg. The 13 points against both Vermont and George Mason was the second time in her career that she reached double-figures in consecutive games. She did it again last week with her team-high 11 points against UMBC before leading the team again with a season-high 16 points against Youngstown State. The UMBC game also marked the second time in her career that she put in over 25 minutes in a game without committing a single turnover. BOND WITH THE GOLDEN HAND Senior Kate Bond has sparked some key runs off the bench this year with her 3-point range. Within two minutes after entering the game against Penn State, Bond threw up back-to-back treys to cut the Lady Lions lead down to two points with less than two minutes left in regulation. She contributed another three points during overtime to help the Eagles pull away, earning a career-high nine points in her nine minutes of play. Bond had a similar impact during the OT win over Youngstown State, as she put away a pair of three s in only six minutes of play in the second quarter. GETTING RIGHT TO WORK Freshman Indeya Sanders has already established herself as a momentum-changers partway into her debut season. She has put in minutes in the last five games, including tying her season-high with 16 against George Washington. She recorded her first basket as an Eagle with a three midway through the second quarter against Villanova. Sanders hit a new career-high against Youngstown State, hitting nine points in 16 minutes of play after shooting 2-of-5 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Sanders hit some key baskets down the stretch against YSU, including a pair of free throws midway through the third quarter that gave AU its largest lead of the game at She had her second 16-minute game of the season against George Washington, leading the team with three assists while hitting her second-highest point tally of the season with six points. A B1G TIME VICTORY The Eagles rode a lot of momentum heading into conference play after they tallied the program s 11th win over a Power Five school, beating Penn State in overtime. Penn State is only the second Big Ten team that #AUWBB vs. #WBB AU has beaten after the Eagles topped Maryland, 57-53, during the season. This is the second Power Five victory for Head Coach Megan Gebbia and her staff after they bested Oregon, 72-64, during the 2014 South Point Thanksgiving Shootout. The Eagles went on to win the program s first Patriot League title and advance to the NCAA Tournament later that season. Prior to 2014, the last time AU tallied a victory over a Power Five school was in (Syracuse, 70-68). THE NON-CONFERENCE SLATE The Eagles are 7-4 at the conclusion of the regular season non-conference schedule. This ties with the season for the best non-conference record for Coach Gebbia and her staff. LOOKING FOR THAT BOOKEND This year s senior class will look to repeat their freshman season, which culminated in the program s first Patriot League Tournament title and berth into the NCAA Tournament. Kate Bond, Michael Harris, Asha Henley, Emily Kinneston, and Maria Liddane were all members of that historic squad that went 24-9 (16-2 PL) before beating, 66-50, in the PL Championship to advance to the NCAA First Round where they fell to Iowa, EXPERIENCE LEADING THE WAY The Eagles return a lot maturity to the squad after losing only one starter to graduation last year in Lauren Crisler. The 11 returners accounted for 79 percent of last year s points, 77 percent of rebounds, 81 percent of blocks, 87 percent of assists and 86 percent of steals. They made a combined 238 appearances and 123 starts last season. Highlighting AU s returners is the six-player senior class, led by the team s leading scorer, Emily Kinneston, and Maria Liddane, who ranks among the program s best in assists. AU also returns senior Michael Harris, who had a breakout junior season, leading the team in scoring against Boston University (1/11) and (2/1). She hit career highs in both games with 13 points and 16 points, respectively. A HOMECOMING Last weekend s tournament in Burlington, Vt., was a homecoming for senior Emily Kinneston, who grew up in nearby Shelburne (Champlain Valley Union). This is the first time Kinneston has played in her home state since graduating high school in Kinneston certainly made the most of it, hitting the buzzer-beater to win Friday s game against host Vermont, She was second on the team in scoring during both games over the weekend, putting up 16 pts. against Vermont and 10 against Villanova. The Vermont trip was the second time this season that an AU senior made a return to her home state - Kate Bond (Norman, Okla.) played in Oklahoma for the first time since high school when the Eagles opened the season at Tulsa (11/13).
