The Mids made only two field goals through the first nine minutes of the game, but trailed the Crusaders by just the count of Holy Cross would eventually take its largest lead of the half at with three minutes remaining before halftime. That remained the score for another two minutes until Navy scored on each of its last three possessions including a three-point basket by Taylor Dunham as the first half expired to close to within at the break. Navy found itself trailing by just three points because even though the Mids were just 8-36 (2.2%) from the field in the half, they held the Crusaders to just nine made field goals and a 36-percent shooting effort. That end of the first half sparked the Mids into the start of the second as Sarita Condie scored the first five points of the stanza and added another basket as part of a 10-2 run that gave Navy a lead. The Mids would eventually open up a six-point cushion at (11:21) and they still led by five points at with 5:47 remaining on the clock. Navy s offensive struggles returned at the close of the game, however, as Holy Cross tallied 12 of the final 15 points of the afternoon. Both teams made 18 field goals in the game and the Mids held a 7-1 advantage in three-point field goals made, but the Mids shot 24.3 percent (18-74) from the floor and just 20 percent (7-35) from three-point land while the Crusaders made 36 percent (18-50) of their shots. Additionally, the Crusaders were from the foul line while the Mids were just 1-2 from the charity stripe. Navy snared 18 offensive boards but could score just seven second-chance points while Holy Cross tallied five such points on six offensive caroms. The Mids also forced 14 turnovers while committing only nine of their own. Condie led Navy with 12 points, Dunham added 11 points and Justice Swett grabbed 11 rebounds. About American American claimed at least a share of the 2015 Patriot League regular season title with a win over Army at home on Saturday. The Eagles have posted a league record of 14-2 and hold a two-game lead with two games remaining. American also has compiled an overall record of 19-8, and is 9-4 in all and 7-1 in league play on the road. The Series American holds a advantage in the all-time series with Navy, which includes a edge in league regular season games. The Mids have a 14-8 lead in games played on The Yard, which includes an 8-4 lead in league games played in Alumni Hall. The Eagles recorded a victory over the Mids when the two teams met earlier this season in Washington, D.C. A win by American Wednesday would give the Eagles their fifth regular season sweep of the Mids (last was in 2012), while a Navy victory would result in the teams splitting the series for the sixth time (last was in 2014). Career Statistics Navy s current roster consists of 10 players who have scored 91 points in 20 games against the Eagles, while the American roster has eight players on it who have totaled 150 points in 30 games against the Mids. The Mids cut an early 16-7 deficit down to one point at 18-17, but the Eagles scored 10 of the next 12 points on their way to a first half-closing 14-5 run that gave them a lead at the break. American made 51.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half while Navy connected on 33.3 percent of its shots from the floor. The teams pretty much traded hoops during the majority of the second half as the margin hovered between seven and 12 points until a 5-0 run by the Mids cut the deficit down to with 5:28 left to play. After the Eagles came away with an empty possession, Navy had a field goal attempt to close the gap down to four points that missed its mark. Navy held American scoreless over the next three possessions but the Mids turned the ball over on their next three times down the court without getting a shot off. The Eagles would then score on a jumper to end a six-minute scoring drought and take a lead with 2:29 remaining. The Mids winnowed the margin back down to six points at 1:26 left on the clock but the Eagles scored the last four points of the game. American entered the game leading the league with a scoring average of 66.9 points per game against league foes, and had scored at least 60 points in its 11 prior games. Navy shot much better in the second half, 46.2 percent, but American still shot 40.7 percent after halftime to hold a 51.1%-37.3% advantage for the game. Chloe Stapleton had a great shooting night for the Mids as she was 3-4 from three-point range and 5-6 from the floor in all to score 13 points. Marina Munster also shot well, connecting on 6-8 field goal attempts to tally 13 points in the game. Stapleton Selects USS Arlington On Jan. 29, Chloe Stapleton, the lone senior on the women s basketball team, selected to serve aboard the USS Arlington upon graduating from Navy. The Arlington, LPD-24, is an amphibious transport dock ship based in Norfolk, Va. Like her sister ships, the USS New York and Somerset, the Arlington is named for Arlington, Va., the location of the Pentagon, and in honor of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. Steel taken from the Pentagon after the attack is displayed aboard the ship. Additional Service Interests Midshipmen do not receive their service assignments until the fall of their senior year at Navy. Navy Women s Basketball Game Notes I 5 Condie at Lafayette Condie totaled a career-high 17 points in just 19 minutes of playing time of Navy s Jan win at Lafayette. She connected on 6-10 shots from the floor (3-5 from three-point range) and was 2-3 from the foul line against the Leopards. Condie also added a pair of rebounds and two steals. Condie at Bucknell Condie connected on a trio of three-point field goals on her way to scoring a Navy-high 15 points Feb. 11 at Bucknell. She made her second start of the season and in her career in the game while playing a career-best 30 minutes. Condie vs. Colgate Condie was 5-8 from the floor in the first half (2-4 from three-point range) in scoring 12 points prior to halftime of Navy s Feb. 14 game against Colgate. She would add one more point in the second half. Taylor Dunham at Navy Classic Taylor Dunham entered the Nov Navy Classic with having appeared in just two of Navy s first five games of the year while totaling four points, two assists and one rebound in eight minutes of playing time. She would go on to score 13 points (11 in the second half) and dish out six assists (five in the second half) in 23 minutes of playing time against UNCG. She was 4-8 from the floor against the Spartans, which included a 2-3 effort from three-point land. The following day, she took to the court for just 16 minutes, but again led the Mids with 13 points while adding four caroms. Dunham led the Mids and ranked second in the tournament field in scoring despite ranking 21st on the weekend in minutes played. She was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts. Dunham vs. Towson Dunham again played a large role in Navy s Dec. 2 victory over Towson. After being held scoreless in seven minutes of playing time in the first half, she tallied 11 points, three assists and three rebounds in 14 minutes of playing time in the second half.

She connected on 4 of 7 three-point field goal attempts (4-8 in all) in scoring a Navy-best 15 points against the Ducks. Dunham Receives League Honor (1) The Oregon game helped Dunham be named as the Patriot League Rookie (freshman) of the Week on Dec. 8. One day prior to her efforts against the Ducks, she tallied 10 points at Portland State. Dunham at Loyola, vs. Lafayette Dunham continued her strong play by scoring 15 points in both of Navy s games Dec. 31 at Loyola and Jan. 3 against Lafayette. She led the Mids on the week in points scored (30), field goals made (10), three-point field goals made (3) and free throws made (7), while also totaling seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the two games. Dunham Receives League Honor (2) Dunham was recognized as the Patriot League Rookie (freshman) of the Week on Jan. 5 after Navy s games against Loyola and Lafayette. Dunham at Colgate Dunham scored 12 of her career-best 18 points in the second half of Navy s win at Colgate. She also shared the Navy lead in both assists and steals with two and four, respectively, on the afternoon. Dunham vs. Colgate Dunham tallied 10 of Navy s final 14 points in the team s win over Colgate on Feb. 14. Her run started with a layup and foul shot that gave the Mids a lead with just over five minutes remaining. Dunham then drained a three-point shot two possessions later to make it a nine-point game. She would score 15 points in the contest after having totaled 16 points in the previous six games. Hannah Fenske at Colgate Hannah Fenske made the first buzzer-beating shot to win a game in her life Jan. 17 at Colgate. The freshman wove her way along the baseline through a pair of defenders to bank in a layup as the final horn sounded to give the Mids a victory. The basket capped a strong second half for the Fenske as she scored all of her career-high nine points over the last 20 minutes of play on 4 of 7 shooting. Fenske vs. Lehigh Fenske made the deciding points in Navy s very next game Jan. 21 against Lehigh. She drained a three-point shot with 91 seconds left to give Navy a lead, then made a pair of free throw attempts with 12.2 seconds left to account for the final points of the team s win. Fenske set career highs for both points (11) and rebounds (8) in the game, while also dishing out four assists. Fenske at Lafayette Fenske had a career day in Navy s win at Lafayette on Jan. 31. She totaled 10 of her career-high 14 points in the second half including a pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining and Navy holding a lead while tying a career-high with five assists. Fenske also added six rebounds and two steals on the afternoon. Fenske Receives League Honor Fenske was tabbed as the Patriot League Rookie (freshman) of the Week on Feb. 2 after Navy s games at American and Lafayette. She averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the two games against the Eagles and the Leopards. Fenske Assists Fenske has dished out four or more assists in 13 games this season. The remainder of the Navy team has combined to record at least four assists in a game 11 times. Ashanti Kennedy vs. Mary Washington Ashanti Kennedy totaled 11 points and three rebounds during the entire season, but accrued 12 points and five boards Nov. 20 against Mary Washington. Kennedy was 2-5 from the floor and 8-10 from the foul line against the Eagles. Kennedy vs. Towson Kennedy didn t take to the court in the first half of Navy s Dec. 2 game against Towson, but she played a very productive 16 second-half minutes to help the Mids rally for a win. She made 3-6 field goal attempts and was 3-4 from the foul line to score nine points after halftime, while also contributing three boards and two steals. Kennedy vs. Bucknell Kennedy entered Navy s Jan. 14 game against Bucknell with having scored 10 points in the five career Patriot League games she had appeared in. She would go on to tally 11 points one shy of tying her career high in a career-best 24 minutes of playing time against the Bison. Kennedy was 5-13 from the floor while adding four boards in the contest. Kennedy vs. Lehigh Kennedy totaled eight points, five rebounds and two steals during Navy s win over Lehigh on Jan. 21. She was tied for the Navy scoring lead in the first half as she sank three of her six field goal attempts in the stanza. Kennedy at Lafayette Kennedy made the first start of her career Jan. 31 at Lafayette a memorable one. She connected on 6-14 shots from the floor in tying a career high with 12 points while also adding three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot. Muenster at Boston U. Marina Muenster had a breakout game in Navy s Jan. 7 victory at Boston U. After missing her lone field goal attempt of the first half, Muenster connected on 5-6 shots from the floor and 4-6 free throw attempts during the second half to tally a career-high 14 points. She also snared eight of her career-high 12 boards during the second half, which was made even more impressive by her playing just 12 minutes after halftime. Muenster accounted for 14 of Navy s last 26 points in the game, including 8 of the team s last 13. Muenster at Army Muenster was limited to just 15 minutes of playing time Jan. 10 at Army, but once again she had a large impact on the end of the game. She scored just four points on the afternoon (took just two field goal attempts), but her first basket gave Navy a lead with 4:40 left to play. Muenster immediately grabbed a defensive carom while being fouled on the next Army possession, and sank the resulting two free throw attempts. The board was one of 10 for her in the game. Muenster Receives League Award Muenster was selected as the Patriot League Rookie (freshman) of the Week on Jan. 12 for her efforts against the Terriers and the Black Knights. She averaged 9.0 points and 11,0 rebounds a game, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field on the week. Muenster vs. Bucknell Muenster snared 10 boards in Navy s Jan. 14 game against Bucknell, the third game in a row in which she had reached double figures in caroms. She also added six points in her career-best 28 minutes of playing time. Muenster at Colgate Muenster continued her strong play and played a key role down the stretch of Navy s Jan win at Colgate. She tallied seven points, eight rebounds and four blocks, none bigger than a rejection and defensive board on an offensive putback attempt by the Raiders with less than 35 seconds remaining in what was a two-point game at the time. Muenster at American Muenster connected on 6-8 field goal attempts and her lone free throw attempt to tally 13 points Jan. 27 at American. Muenster vs. Boston U. Muenster recorded eight points, seven rebounds and five steals in Navy s Feb. 4 game against Boston U. Her five thefts are the most by a Mid this year and left her one shy of tying Navy s freshman class single-game record. Muenster vs. Army Muenster notched her second double-double of the league season with a 10-point, 10-rebound contest Feb. 7 against Army. She also tied a career-high with two assists.

7 Muenster at Lehigh Muenster tied a season high by recording four blocked shots in Navy s win at Lehigh Feb. 18. Perhaps none was bigger than her block with one minute left to play and the Mids in front by six points. Freshmen Block Leaders Muenster currently ranks third among Mids for the most blocks recorded by a freshman. Most Blocked Shots by a Navy Freshman Cassie Consedine, Kim Cowling, Marina Muenster, Danielle Poblarp at N.C. A&T and Elon Danielle Poblarp scored four points during the entire season, but tallied 16 points in the first two games of the campaign. She opened the year by scoring five points Nov. 14 at North Carolina A&T, then scored 11 points while dishing out four assists two days later at Elon. Poblarp vs. Penn and George Mason Poblarp connected on a trio of three-point field goals in back-to-back games against Penn and George Mason. She was 3-6 from beyond the arc in both games on her way to scoring nine points against the Quakers and 13 points against the Patriots. Poblarp also added a total of eight assists over the two games. Poblarp vs. Saint Peter s Poblarp connected on a trio of three-point field goals and was 4-8 from the floor overall in scoring 11 points Dec. 21 against Saint Peter s. Her 11-point effort against the Peacocks came after she had totaled 14 points in Navy s prior five games. Sarah Reilly Early Sarah Reilly put together a strong start to her collegiate career. She scored 10 or more points in four of her first five games, shot a minimum of 50 percent from the floor three times and grabbed at least four boards in each of the five games. This included her sinking 5-7 shots from the floor in scoring 16 points and hauling in 12 boards 8 on the offensive end (T-6 in Navy history) against Mary Washington. Reilly Earns League Laurel Reilly was selected as the Patriot League Rookie (freshman) of the Week on Nov. 24. The accolade covers her performances against Mary Washington and Penn in which she averaged 10.5 points and 11.0 rebounds a game. She was Navy s first rookie (freshman) of the week in four seasons. Reilly During Oregon Trip Reilly had two effective games during Navy s trip to Oregon. She first tallied 12 rebounds, 7 points and 2 assists at Portland State, then recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks at Oregon. Chloe Stapleton vs. Penn & George Mason Chloe Stapleton connected on four three-point field goals in back-to-back games against Penn (Nov. 22) and George Mason (Nov. 25). She was 4-10 from the beyond the arc in scoring a Navy-best 14 points against the Quakers, then drained 4-8 long-range shots against the Patriots. In all, she connected on 44.4% of her shots and averaged 15.0 points per game. Stapleton at Oregon Stapleton drained four of her eight three-point field goal attempts in scoring 14 points during Navy s Dec. 6 game at Oregon. Stapleton vs. Holy Cross 100th PL 3FGM Stapleton connected on 3 of 8 three-point attempts and 6 of 12 field goal attempts in all in scoring 15 points Jan 24 against Holy Cross. Her third and final triple of the game was the 100th she has made in Patriot League regular season games. Stapleton at American Stapleton continued her strong shooting in Navy s very next game, Jan. 27 at American, as she was 3-4 from three-point land and 5-6 in all from the floor in scoring 13 points. Stapleton at Lafayette 200th 3FGM Stapleton made it three-straight games with a trio of three-point field goals made as she drained three triples Jan. 31 at Lafayette. Her third basket from beyond the arc was the 200th of her career. Stapleton vs. Colgate Stapleton drained four of her six first-half three-point field goal attempts in Navy s Feb. 14 game against Colgate. She would end the game 5-7 from beyond the arc for a total of 15 points. Stapleton 3FGM One of Stapleton s best shooting nights was in the championship game of the 2013 Patriot League Tournament as she connected on 5 of 11 three-point attempts in Navy s victory over Holy Cross. Swett vs. Army Swett put together a very strong all-around effort in Navy s Feb. 7 game against Army. She connected on all three of her three-point field goal attempts and was five of seven from the floor in all to score a game and career-high 13 points against the Black Knights. Swett, whose brother currently attends Army, also added four rebounds and four assists in the game. Swett vs. Colgate Swett failed to score in Navy s Feb. 14 win over Colgate, but she was very productive in every other statistical category. She tallied seven rebounds, six steals and four assists during her 31 minutes of playing time. Swett at Lehigh Swett again did all of the little things to help the Mids to their win at Lehigh on Feb. 18. She grabbed nine boards and swiped three steals in the first half of the game on her way to finishing the night with 13 boards the most by a Mid this season and four steals.
