(Dec. 11, 2018) The Dakota State University (S.D.) Trojan men s basketball team (29 overall record) looks to halt their fivegame losing skid with a pair of games this week. The Trojans head to Cimpl Arena (1105 West 8th Street) in Yankton, S.D. Wednesday evening to take on instate rival Mount Marty (S.D.) (49 overall record) in a nonconference contest. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. DSU returns home Saturday afternoon for a matchup versus No. 2ranked Morningside (Iowa). The game is set for 4 p.m. at DSU Fieldhouse. Dakota State dropped their North Star conference opener at home versus Bellevue (Neb.) 6645 on Dec. 6. The Trojans could not get back in the winning column after falling to No. 8ranked Briar Cliff (Iowa) 9560 on Dec. 8. Mount Marty is coming off from a 7069 Great Plains Athletic Conference thriller at Concordia (Neb.) on Dec. 8, followed by a 7969 exhibition game defeat to NCAA Division II NebraskaKearney on Dec. 9. Morningside remained undefeated in conference play after a pair of victories last week (Midland, Neb on Dec. 5 and Jamestown, N.D on Dec. 8). Mount Marty and Morningside both won the first meeting with Dakota State earlier this season. Next Up: Dakota State travels to Kyle, S.D. Monday evening to take on Oglala Lakota (S.D.) at 6:30 p.m. (Central Time)/5:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) before returning home next Thursday versus Jamestown (N.D.). Dakota State (S.D.) is seeking to end their seasonlong fivegame losing skid. The Trojans last win was on Nov. 13 when they defeated Trinity Bible (N.D.) on the road. Mount Marty (S.D.) won the first meeting with the Trojans earlier this season. The Lancers erased the biggest deficit held by DSU and held on toe win by the score of 7875 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Morningside (Iowa) had won the last five meetings with Dakota State, with the most recent victory in the Draemel Classic on Nov. 25 in Fremont, Neb.
