The Greyhounds withstood a second half comeback from the Tritons to improve to 3-11 on the year and 1-3 in GLVC play. Princess German led UIndy with 18 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Kelly Kunkel added 11 points for the Tritons, who fell to 6-7 on the year and 1-4 in GLVC play. Today was a really good win for us, and for us to get a split after a tough loss on Thursday is huge, head coach Constantin Popa said. We really fought hard today, especially after they got back in the game in the second half. We kept pushing and made some adjustments that paid off for us late. Our guards were huge for us today. We expect that every game out of Princess and Sarah, and to have Devin really get involved in the offense is critical for us going forward. We always tell our team that we can t rely on one or two players each game. We need to get more from everybody and we did that this weekend. The Greyhounds jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before the Tritons answered with 10 of the game s next 13 points to take a 10-7 lead with 6:25 to go in the opening quarter. UIndy responded by outscoring the Tritons 13-5 throughout the remainder of the quarter with eight of those points coming from Devin Ferguson, giving UIndy a lead after one.
