2 OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER NOTES Games In: After claiming a victory over the Miami Heat on Nov. 7, the Thunder improved to 6-1 on the season which represented the best start for the Thunder through seven games during the Oklahoma City era. Tonight, Oklahoma City will look to string together a season-long sixth consecutive victory just 24 hours after defeating New Orleans Pelicans. The Thunder s five-game win streak is currently the longest in the Western Conference. Russell Westbrook has recorded triple-doubles in each of Oklahoma City s last five wins and in those games he is averaging an astounding 28.6 points, 14.4 rebounds and 13.8 assists. Second EVER: Through the first 21 games of the season, Russell Westbrook has amassed averages of 31.0 points (2 nd in the NBA), 10.8 rebounds (9 th in the NBA) and 11.3 assists (2 nd in the NBA). By reaching these benchmarks, Westbrook is now the second player in NBA history (Oscar Robertson) to average 30+ points, 10+ rebounds and 11+ assists through the first 20+ games of a NBA season. Westbrook again joins Robertson ( ) as the only player in NBA history to average a triple-double entering the month of December. Westbrook Triple-Double Notes: Last night vs. New Orleans, Russell Westbrook became the first player since Michael Jordan (recorded seven consecutive triple doubles from 3/25/89 4/6/89) to record five straight triple-doubles. With 10 triple-doubles on the season (the rest of the NBA has recorded 11 triple-doubles combined this year), Westbrook now owns 47 career triple-doubles which is the most among active NBA players. Westbrook already ranks sixth all-time in NBA history with his 47 triple doubles. On Dec. 28 at Madison Square Garden, Westbrook recorded a triple-double in just 20 minutes of action which represents the third fastest triple double in NBA history and the second fastest of his career (Jim Tucker registered a triple-double in 17 minutes of action in 1955). After going a perfect 18-0 last season in Westbrook s triple-double games, OKC is currently 8-2 this season when Westbrook accomplishes the feat. In Westbrook s career, the Thunder owns a 41-6 record in his 47 career triple-doubles. Young and Improving: As of games played through Nov. 18, the Thunder starting lineup of Adams, Oladipo, Roberson, Sabonis and Westbrook sit as the third youngest starting lineup in the NBA with an average age of 24 years and 91 days [trails only Minnesota (23 years and 95 days) and Denver (23 years and 314 days)]. Overall, the Thunder roster is the fifth youngest in the NBA with an average age of 25 years and 220 days (trails Philadelphia, Portland, Toronto and Phoenix). What a road to 600: On Nov. 18 versus Brooklyn, Russell Westbrook appeared in his 600 th career regular season game. After recording a single rebound and his 20 th point, Westbrook joined Oscar Roberson as the second player in NBA history to record 13,000 points, 3,400 rebounds and 4,500 assists through 600 games. Adams at the Line: In 21 games this season Steven Adams has demonstrated drastic improvement from the free throw line. At the charity stripe this season, Adams is shooting 78.3% (47-60 FTs). Entering the season Adams had a career free throw shooting percentage of 55.1% ( FTs). Elite Company: Since the start of the season, the Thunder has won five Northwest Division titles, reached the Conference Finals on four occasions, the NBA Finals once and amassed a record of (.663). Based on winning percentage, the Oklahoma City Thunder ranks as the fourth most winning team among the four major professional sports (NBA, NFL, MLB & NHL). For the first week of the season, the NBA named Westbrook the Western Conference Player of the Week. First since Magic: After recording a second consecutive triple-double on Oct. 30 versus the Lakers, Russell Westbrook became the first player to record a triple-double in two of the first three games of the season since Magic Johnson accomplished the feat (to begin the season). Westbrook is one of four players all time to register two triple-doubles in the first three games of the season [Johnson (2x), Jerry Lucas and Oscar Robertson (2x)]. First since Kareem: During the Thunder s victory over the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 28, Russell Westbrook became the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1/19/75) to register a triple-double that included 50+ points scored. On the night, Westbrook, scored 51 points to go along with a team-high 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Westbrook equaled a Thunder record by scoring 23 points in the third quarter alone. By accomplishing the feat, Westbrook is now one of just five players (Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Richie Guerin and Wilt Chamberlain) in NBA history to post a triple-double that included 50+ points scored. In the Wins: In the Thunder s 13 wins this season, the Thunder is outscoring the opposition by a to 99.8 margin. In those games, OKC is limiting the opposition to just 41.8% shooting (OKC has held the opponent to under 100 points in seven of the team s 13 wins this season).

3 International Flavor: Currently, the Thunder roster features five international players (places OKC in top third of the league with respect to number of international players). The NBA as a whole features a record 113 international players entering this season. INTERNATIONAL THUNDER PLAYERS Alex Abrines (Spain) Steven Adams (New Zealand) Enes Kanter (Turkey) Joffrey Lauvergne (France) Domantas Sabonis (Lithuania) Preseason is Spain: The Thunder began exhibition play with a pair of preseason contests in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain. Oklahoma City returned stateside after splitting their two contests in Europe against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona Lassa. Oklahoma City participated in the Global Games Europe for the first time since 2013 when the Thunder faced-off against the Philadelphia 76ers in Manchester, England and Fenerbahçe Ulker in Istanbul, Turkey. Oklahoma City finished 2016 preseason play with a record of 3-3 after winning their last two exhibition games versus Minnesota and Denver by a combined 28 points. Home Opener: On Oct. 28 at Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Thunder prevailed over the Phoenix Suns in overtime to claim an eighth consecutive home opening victory. After defeating the 76ers in Philadelphia two nights earlier, the Thunder improved to 6-3 in season openers during the Oklahoma City era. OKC is Fan Friendly: The Thunder once again played in front of a packed-house during the entire season as fans continued to fill Chesapeake Energy Arena. After registering sellouts during all 41 home games in each of the five previous seasons, the Thunder has recorded sellouts in 225 consecutive regular season home outings and 267 games overall when including the postseason. Fans in attendance this season will continue to enjoy the improvements made to Chesapeake Energy Arena as part of a taxpayer funded initiative passed in March of Thanks to the publically funded initiative, the team s arena boasts new terrace suites, an updated main concourse with new concession stands, a new Sunset Lounge on the Club Level and a first-class courtside club. Division Champs: During the season, the Thunder secured a fifth Northwest Division title in the past six years and by accomplishing the feat, OKC became just the seventh team in NBA history to win five division titles in six seasons. Additionally, the Thunder became just the third team to win five out of seven division titles immediately following a season with 23 or fewer wins. The first two were the St. Louis Hawks from to , and the Baltimore/Capital Bullets from to Finally, since the start of the season, the Thunder is one of two teams (San Antonio) to win a division title in five of six seasons. Boards are the Barometer: The Thunder finished the season as the leading rebounding team in the NBA (48.6 rebounds per game). OKC finished the year going when outrebounding the opposition. During the first six weeks of the season, the Thunder is currently the third leading rebounding team in the NBA (46.3 rpg). OKC is a perfect 6-0 this season when outrebounding the opposition by 10 or more. Last year, the Thunder s 8.4 rebounding differential was the fourth largest margin since 1950, when rebounding first became a statistic. There were 44 instances this past season in which OKC outrebounded the opposition by 10 or more. No other team in the NBA history has ever accomplished such a feat. OKC also led the league in offensive rebounding (The Thunder controlled 31.1% of its offensive rebound chances, which is the highest percentage for any Thunder era). Westbrook Wows: During the season, Russell Westbrook recorded 18 triple-doubles which equals the most in the NBA since Magic Johnson accomplished the feat during the season. During the month of March, Westbrook posted seven triple-doubles as he became the first player since Michael Jordan (in April of 1989) to register seven triple-doubles in a single month. After his 21-point, 15-assist and 10-rebound effort on March 22 versus Houston, Westbrook recorded a third consecutive triple-double for the third time in his career [Only Oscar Robertson (13), Wilt Chamberlain (6) and Magic Johnson (4) have more career streaks of three-plus consecutive triple-doubles]. Additionally, eight of Westbrook s triple-doubles were recorded through just three quarters of play (the rest of the NBA combined had seven such triple-doubles this past season). His triple-double in 18 minute vs. the Lakers on April 11 is the second fastest in NBA history (one minute shy of Jim Tucker s all-time record of 17 minutes in 1955). Westbrooks 36 career triple-doubles places him second among active NBA players (LeBron James owns 42 career triple-doubles). Additionally, Donovan became just the third first year head coach in the last 15 years to win 55+ games during his first season (Kerr & Thibodeau). On April 30, 2015 Billy Donovan was named the third head coach in Thunder history after enjoying an incredibly successful college coaching career which spanned more than two decades. During the past 19 years as head coach at the University of Florida, Donovan led the Gators to two National Championships and four trips to the Final Four while amassing a record of (.715). Last season, Donovan became the second youngest coach in NCAA history (Bob Knight) to claim 500 wins. Kanter Can: During the season, Enes Kanter recorded 25 double-double on the year (represented the most among NBA reserves). On April 6 th in Portland, Enes Kanter became the first player in Thunder history to record a 30-point and 20-rebound game. Below are several of Kanter s achievements from the season. Ranked 4 th in the NBA in field goal percentage (.576). Led the NBA is rebounds off the bench (8.1 rpg). Only player to average 12+ points and 8+ rebounds off the bench. Kanter s Player Efficinecy Rating (PER) of 24.1 represented the 10th highest in the NBA and best among bench players. Per 36 minutes, Kanter averaged the seventh most rebounds (13.9) in the league. Postseason Success: After defeating the Spurs in the Conference Semifinals this past season, the Thunder has now won 10 playoff series in the last five seasons. Only the Miami Heat (15) has won more postseason series during this span (San Antonio has also won 10 playoff series).

4 Russell Rolls: After finishing the regular season averaging 23.5 points, 10.4 assists and 7.8 rebounds, Russell Westbrook joined Oscar Robertson as the only other player in NBA history to average 23+ points, 10+ assists and 7+ rebounds. After recording 21 points and 13 assists on Nov. 8 versus the Phoenix Suns, Russell Westbrook became the first player since Isiah Thomas (during the season) to amass 180+ points and 75+ assists through the first seven games of the season. On Jan. 20 versus Charlotte, Westbrook became just the 4 th player in NBA history to record 15+ points, 15+ assists, 5+ rebounds and 5+ steals in a single game. In 80 games this past season, Westbrook ranked second in the NBA with 54 double-doubles (the most for a guard since Chris Paul recorded 56 during the season) and 18 triple-doubles (most in the NBA since Magic Johnson recorded 18 during the season). Westbrook finished the season ranking second in the NBA is assists (10.4 apg), fifth in steals (2.04 spg) while ranking ninth in scoring (23.5 ppg). 50 wins: On March 24, the Thunder claimed a 22-point home victory over the Jazz and in the process, OKC recorded the team s 50 th win of the season. Oklahoma City has now finished with a winning percentage of.610 (equivalent to 50 wins) six times dating back to the season. Only the San Antonio Spurs (seven seasons with.610 winning percentage), have reached that benchmark more during this period. Not too Shabby: Since arriving in Oklahoma City, the Thunder has proven to be one of the top performing teams in the NBA during the past seven seasons. Oklahoma City finished the season with a home record of 32-9 (tied for 4 th best home record in the NBA). Included in that, OKC went an impressive 23-3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena this year when facing Western Conference opponents. Dating back to the start of the season, OKC has gone (.757) at home (2 nd best home record in the NBA during this span). Just Another Back-2-Back: Entering the season, the Thunder is set to compete in 14 back-to-back sets. OKC is 3-2 on the first night and 1-3 on the second night of a back-to-back, respectively. Last season Oklahoma City played in 16 back-to-backs. OKC finished the year going 12-4 in the first game of a back-to-back and 6-10 on the second night. Sustaining Success: In the past seven season, OKC has compiled the second best record in the NBA (behind San Antonio). After the season in which Oklahoma City won 20 games after a 3-29 start, the Thunder found ways to improve the club in each of the four subsequent seasons. With a record during the season, Oklahoma City became just the second team in NBA history (Boston; ) to increase its winning percentage for five consecutive seasons (while maintaining a winning percentage of.700 or better in two of those seasons). Russell Westbrook recorded his ninth triple-double of the season, giving him four straight games with a triple-double (equaling longest streak of his career).
