Among the Frogs 30 regular-season games will be nine against teams that reached last season s NCAA Tournament, including five games against Sweet 16 participants. Headlining the campaign is a difficult Thanksgiving trip to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where TCU will face three NCAA tourney teams in three days in West Virginia, Iowa State and Virginia. Iowa State made the Sweet 16 last year, while West Virginia reached the second round. Also on tap during the non-conference season are home games against Georgia and Oklahoma and road trips to Texas A&M and Fresno State. Oklahoma reached the Final Four last season, Georgia made the Sweet 16, Texas A&M advanced to the second round and Fresno State also reached the tourney. The Mountain West Conference will again provide a stiff challenge, as each team in the league returns at least three starters. San Diego State joined TCU in the NCAA Tournament last spring and advanced to the Sweet 16. Ranked Teams Beware TCU s schedule shapes up to be another tough one this season, which will provide it a chance to extend some impressive streaks. 4TCU has defeated at least one ranked team in each of the last eight seasons. The team has two such wins each of the past three years. 4TCU owns 16 victories all-time against ranked opponents, each of which have come in Jeff Mittie s 11-season tenure. 4TCU has notched at least one win over a ranked team away from Fort Worth in five of the last six seasons. 4Three of the four victories over top-5 teams in program history have come in the last two seasons (vs. No. 10/5 Texas A&M in ; vs. No. 3/5 Maryland, at No. 3/3 Cal in ). Home Sweet Home TCU recorded the best home mark in program history last season at The squad finished with a perfect home record for the first time in program history, while also matching the most wins in a season previously set in (15-1) and (15-3). The previous school record of 19 straight home wins was set between Jan. 18, 2006 and Feb. 22, TCU is 49-4 (.925) in its last 53 games overall held at the DMC and (.833) since Jeff Mittie s arrival on campus prior to the campaign. In terms of attendance, TCU experienced one of the top seasons in program history a year ago with an average of 2,563 fans attending home games. The number, which ranked third in the Mountain West Conference, was the fourth-best in program history. TCU In The MWC History TCU celebrated its fifth year in the Mountain West Conference in by winning the league s regularseason championship, its first as a member of the MWC.
