Our cmpetitrs did well in very challenging surf. Sme f the wmen s events were cancelled due t the cnditins n the day, and a cuple f bat crews pulled ut due t very bad cnditins and multiple rllvers in the bat area. 24/1/16 Attended Freshwater Carnival. Watched racing in all areas. Observed ne f ur cmpetitrs being disrespectful t an fficial and spke with her. Cmpetitin rganiser is aware and will fllw up with all cmpetitrs. Water caches will address the entire grup abut respect. 26/1/16 Australia Day Patrl 8 was n Patrl and hsting thng thrwing cmpetitin. Called in t see hw they were ging. Dnatins n the day were just under $200, and Rtary will als make a $500 dnatin fr ut assistance. 27/1/16 Spnsrship meeting Matt Brand, Jan Prudft and I met with Sandy Beard and Peter Tullett t wrk ut a way frward fr ur spnsrship that takes in the need f bth parties. Sandy and Matt will cntinue t talk and wrk twards a plan. 30/1/16 Sir Adrian Curlewis Twilight Carnival at Palm Beach Watched ur team racing great results. Page 1

Directr f Lifesaving cngratulated all clubs n their respnses ver a busy Christmas and New Year perid Draft surf sprts dcument circulated fr review. FUNDS ON HAND As per attached Financial Reprt. We cntinue t benefit frm gd bar and functin trading. Our cash psitin has imprved again, recrding a $19,522 imprvement n January. As nted in the attached Financial Summary, the Club nw has Available Fund f $99,942. The full impact f Pl 2 Peak refunds is yet t be determined. We have nw set aside funds (Cash Reserve Accunt) t pay ur annual Capitatin fees fr this seasn that are due in March. REVIEW ITEMS BAR PERFORMANCE As mentined abve, the functin trading cntinues t make a significant cntributin t ur financial psitin. There is a SIQS (Surf Irnman Qualifying Series) Carnival at Newprt the last f 7 carnivals will be held 20 th & 21 st February. The President f SLSA will be in attendance. They are currently running thrugh Whale, hwever, they have a new teacher verseeing the prgram that is a Newprt member and interested in bringing it t Newprt and imprving the prgram. Guyren t prceed with negtiatins with PLC. 1 new Brnze in January fr Benji Scheiner wh was n hlidays last year when the rest f the grup went thrugh. Publicity Reprt The State Gvernment Cmmunity Award presentatin t Gary Ck was featured in Pittwater Online and in Pittwater Life Magazine February issue. Culd I please ask that cntributins fr the weekly newsletter be sent t me n later than Tuesday each week s that we can distribute the newsletter earlier in the week. We are als nt receiving reprts n the cntinuing successes f the Kinghrn Racing team as well as ther results. It is imprtant that members are kept infrmed f cmpetitin results s they knw what is happening and can share in the success. They are published in the Manly Daily and ther publicatins but I think the club shuld als be reprting t members. It wuld be really appreciated if results culd be prvided s that I dn't have t g thrugh t find the individual Newprt results. The Big Swim (Palm Beach t Whale Beach) was held n Sunday 31 January in perfect cnditins. They had 1467 fr the lnger swim with 257 fr the 1km swim. Fr the Pittwater Series there were 2500 swimmers dwn abut 1,000 swimmers n the previus seasn. We are nw wrking n the 2017 Pl t Peak cean swims which will be held n 8 January The reprt n the 2016 Pl t Peak swims requested at the last management cmmittee meeting will be presented at the meeting. Reprt frm Pl t Peak Ocean Swim was submitted by Jhn Guthrie First Aid Officer s Reprt Firstly please make my aplgy as I am unable t attend this mnth s meeting. Wave Warrirs Carnival I had Christian Justesen and Lauren Budd as first aid helpers. We had 2 patients with brken tes. Bth were referred t hspital and returned t the beach with immbilisatin bts. 5 General Business: The Bar Cmmittee is seeing excellent custmer and member reactin t ur new tables n the deck and a marked increase in patrnage and revenue. As a result we seek apprval t purchase a further five tables and fifteen chairs fr a ttal budget cst f ~$3,700 incl GST. (Price variance is due t A$ variatin. T be cnfirmed) We wuld like t get these delivered asap t maximise value during ur summer mnths. Mtin: Alan Channells Secnded: Jhn Greenhill Carried: The cncrete alng the beachfrnt needs attentin frm the cuncil. There are many spts where it is uneven causing peple t trip. There is als a wedge f cncrete missing n the edge in frnt f the First Aid rm where I saw three peple trip during Wave warrirs. Ted Smithies t rganise maintenance with Cuncil. Small children n the deck at after fives had t be stpped jumping frm ne BBQ bench t the ther. Pssibly need t all parents t advise that it is their respnsibility t supervise. Craig McDugall stated that there are Rats in the sheds Ted Smithies will speak with Cuncil t try and eradicate the rat prblem. Dggie Business Jhn Guthrie mved that the mtin banning dgs passed by the cmmittee in December be rescinded. He mved that dgs be strictly banned frm the bar area under all circumstances. Further, that dgs be permitted t enter the utdr landing area prvided:- they are n a leash, ut f the way f pedestrian traffic, in the cntrl f their wner Dg wners will be required t clean up any mess left by their dg and if a dg is misbehaving, the wner will be asked t take the dg ff club site. The Club (Management Cmmittee Member) reserves the right t ask the dg/s t be remved.
