1 IMD U14 Spring Prject March 14, 2018 Greetings Intermuntain Athletes! By receiving this invitatin yu are invited t the 5 th annual yuth develpment prject. Intermuntain develpment prjects are included in the USSA pipeline leading t the Western Regin, Natinal Training Grup, and the US Ski Team! Yu have selfselected int this system thrugh yur results and effrts ver the past seasn. Prjects are ffered in a prgressin f experiences ver the duratin f yur junir racing career. This prject intrduces the athletes t the Intermuntain/Western Regin Develpment prcess with imprtant instructin in skill develpment at the U14 level and cntinues thrugh t race preparatin fr years t cme. The prject is designed t fcus n bringing the best IMD athletes and IMD caches tgether t enhance their skill develpment and build friendships with fellw IMD athletes. We are excited t ffer this pprtunity t the tp 15 athletes brn in 2005 and tp 5 brn in 2006 per gender. Giving us a ttal f 40 utstanding IMD athletes. Prviding an pprtunity t push each ther t new levels as they execute a variety f challenges and tasks. Athletes will be assigned t a grup, where they will develp strng team skills and cnnectins with fellw IMD athletes. Staff Prject Leader: Try Price Each IMD prgram that attends will have a cach representive. Prject Cst; $ Payable t IMD Prject Cst includes: lift tickets, lane space fee, ldging, 3 meals a day, caching fees, team activites, and a small gift. Lcal athletes may elect t prvide their wn ldging and/r lift tickets. If s, please nte this n yur registratin and deduct $140 fr Ldging and/r $75 fr Lift Tickets. Travel All athletes are respnsible fr cvering their travel plans t and frm Grand Targhee with their lcal prgram. Plan t arrive n later than 5pm n Thursday April 5 th. Ldging We have cnfirmed ldging fr all. We will be staying at : Grand Traghee Resrt Teewint Ldge Ldging is ptinal, s we need cnfirmatin by March 23rd. If yu elect t prvide yur wn ldging yu can deduct $140 frm the camp fee. Athletes wh chse t stay at hme will need t arrive at the Htel each mrning at 8:30am and be picked up at 8:30pm. Invitatin YOB ranking based invitatin: - The YOB 2005 is based frm the IMD U14 qualificatin series bards. We will accept the Tp 15 men and Tp 15 wmen wh cnfirm by the deadline; therefre we are happy t extend an invite t alternates as needed. We want t ensure we are prviding this remarkable experience fr the full quta size f 15 men and 15 wmen. - The YOB 2006 is based frm their perfrmance at IMD Champs. Athletes will receive Wrld Cup pints in the GS and SL events. We will use the Tp 30 scale with pint values. All nn-imd club and nn-yob 2006 athletes will be purged prir t assigning wrld cup pints. Selectin will be based n the cmbined WC pint ttal frm GS and SL nly. Ties will be brken by best verall finish, then their 2 nd best finish, then by their seasnal rankings n their given U12 selectin bard if needed until the tie is brken.

Registratin frms and payment are Due April 1st, Caches - Please cnfirm yur athletes intent ASAP, s we can ntify any alternates, which are excited t jin this pprtunity. Racers: Yu must be healthy, free f injuries and able t participate fully in all aspects f the n-snw and cnditining training prgram. This will include free skiing, gate training, running, jumping, agilities, and games. Please make sure yur equipment meets the USSA regulatins. Checklist (partial): GS, SL, and Free Skis Helmet, Bts Training Suit/Gear Full Outerwear including rain gear & real cld gear Running Shes, gym shes and wrkut gear fr cnditining 2 Water bttles - mandatry Back pack Wrk ethic and a psitive attitude Please nte that it is a Divisinal Prject, with a plicy t require pre-payment f fees. 5 IMD U14 Spring Prject On-Snw Details Day 1 Day 2 In grups f 8-9 athletes, 2 caches Main Fcus: All Mtn Skiing - Mileage Area: Lunch at 11:30 at the main ldge 9:00 11:30 Directed freeskiing 12:00 3:00 scring f a bump cntest and freeski cmp (mixed grups) We will scre 2 items: (Scring ) Bump Skiing Cmp - Use f terrain - Balance - Ple Plants - Turn Shape Off Piste Freeski Cmp - Use f terrain - Balance - Ple Plants - Turn Shape Same grups Main Fcus: SL Kmbi and Skillsquest SL Kmbi 9:00 11:30 We will use a variety f gate types (stubby and 60 and paneled) t challenge the athletes t adapt. We may even set-up a cuple bstacles r statins (ple jumpers and/r whirly birds may be used). Gate Distances will range frm 6-12 Meters. This will be in a 2 run frmat and will be TIMED. We will use TRS first run (regardless f gender) and reverse it fr secnd run. Schedule: Curse Setter/Crew lad at 8:00 Athletes lad the chair at 9:00 Inspectin 9:15-9:45 Run 1 at 10:00 10:45 quick curse redress/maintenance Run 2 at 11:00 Results by best-cmbined time. First run will have dd bib numbers n red and even bib numbers n blue, 2 nd run reversed Best-cmbined time will generate a result. We will hst a 2 run eliminatin rund starting at a rund f 32 (regardless f gender). Athletes will advance based n their cmbined time within their assigned bracket. We will mve int single eliminatin runds at the rund f 8 t speed up the prcess. We will have a Brnze Battle (the 2 lsers f the semi-finals) t determine 3 rd place and 4 th place. Athletes need t g directly t the chair t maintain the flw f this event.
