But I think if we listen, and ask others around us (not just our own experience), we should be pleasantly surprised.

!! Our children and others, are getting a top-shelf experience offered by NO other program around. I d give our team and programs and you - a TOP GRADE. Do we have growing pains? Yes.

They also serve as a good time to reflect and re-adjust. If we gave ourselves a mid-term grade, what would it be? We may have different opinions, observations and experiences. And we should. But I think if we listen, and ask others around us (not just our own experience), we should be pleasantly surprised. Now deep into the heart of ALL of our programs: Mavericks, Wave, Splash, Summer Lessons, Diving, and many more, we are DOING IT!!! Our children and others, are getting a top-shelf experience offered by NO other program around. I d give our team and programs and you - a TOP GRADE. Do we have growing pains? Yes. Have we had technical issues, vandalism, miscommunication and minor lapses? Of course. Are those expected? Of course. Are they correctable, if we listen and work together? Yes. So I ask you, have you been there to offer the what can I do to help team spirit? Of course. If you haven t, we should talk off-line. In all, our team has demonstrated poise, enthusiasm, generosity and grace to be VERY PROUD OF!!! Pat the person on the back sitting next to you. Smile. Inhale and exhale a breath of accomplishment and pride. And then saddle up, we have unfinished business. Let s finish strong in all areas and programs. Page 2 Aquathon! We have launched Aquathon, our biggest fund raising event of the year. This event is a wonderful opportunity to help support RST, Your Team, One Team One Dream.

2 Page 2 Aquathon! We have launched Aquathon, our biggest fund raising event of the year. This event is a wonderful opportunity to help support RST, Your Team, One Team One Dream. How does "Aquathon" work? Each family will set up a profile of their swimmer(s) and load s from your personal contact list. An , (templates provided) will be sent out to these contacts. The will share your child's love for swimming and the reason for our fundraising event. (All addresses are strictly confidential and will not be used for any other purposes). Swimmers can receive pledges from folks no matter where they live. We are offering a credit card option through Team Unify to collect contributions. The system will collect, track and record your swimmers results. Your child(ren) may earn wonderful prizes based upon the money raised. Lastly, yes you may collect individual donations in the form of cash and or check. You will give the monies to a Board Member or drop it off to the Whitney HS Office before the Aquathon Swim Date so we can record your swimmers accomplishments. Prizes are available. Getting donor contributions in early will ensure your swimmer receives the right credit. RST families can help by doing their part

Verify the hours you have volunteered thus far by following this directions: Log into TeamUnify via rocklinwave.com After logging in, click on Meets & Events Click on Reports Click on Job Signup Report for My Account Edit date range From (4/4/16) and To (7/15/16) If you see a discrepancy on meets worked (excluding those jobs listed above that are tracked separately), send an to your Chair with the details of the discrepancy. Don t forget to pick up your pictures from Monday. o Tuesday July 12th - 5pm - Team Rally Picnic (for all Super Splash, WAVE and MAVS families!) BYOD (bring your own dinner), chairs and picnic blankets and join us at Wesley Park for some picnicking fun! There will be music, a dessert bar, and lots of fun activities. USA Swimming Olympic Trials Schedule Such an exciting time for our swimmers to be able to watch Olympic trials on TV. Visit the following link for the complete schedule: Olympic Trial Schedule Wave Buttons Ever wonder what those buttons mean that your swimmer(s) receives after meets? A number of years ago, Coach Ryan created an incentive program for the beginning swimmers to track their progress. We had kids who swam in the scoring heats, swam to make finals at champs, and swam to make meet of champs (MOC), but for everyone else there was nothing to signify the progress they were making. 90+ % of the kids on the team were just out there swimming to improve but with no real way to show their progress. Coach Ryan looked at USA swimming s time standards and made a modified version for our team. He then created graphics for the buttons and we sent them out to be made. The time standards for each color don't hold any outside significance. They don't qualify the kids for any level of meet, nor does the league recognize them. It's just a fun way for kids to have stepping stones of progress. Facebook Ever miss posts on Facebook from us? We have an easy fix for that. Click on the Wave & Splash or Mavericks links below and hover over the LIKE button on the Facebook page. You will see an option that says SEE FIRST. Click on that and every time we post something on Facebook, you will see it at the top of your newsfeed. EVERY TIME! Wave & Splash Mavericks Text Messages Want to receive text notifications from RST regarding important & timely information? Follow these steps to ensure your cell phone number is listed in our system: Log into your account at or o Go to My Account > My Account You will see a box for "SMS and Carrier" fill in the cell phone number and cell phone carrier in the boxes and click the SAVE button. Check your cell phone for a text message and make note of the "Verification Validation Code". Note that some cell carriers can take a while to deliver this message. Enter this number in the "Verification Code" field and click VERIFY. This MUST be done for the number to be activated! Some carriers make it even easier and just require you to click the link to verify. You may enter up to TWO cell phone numbers per account.

I had fun swimming with all of my friends. RSNL: Do you still keep in touch with your Wave teammates? Yes, I see my friends from Wave at my little sister s swim meets.

RSNL: Any proud moments/ experiences of being a Mav that you would like to share with them? Being a Mav is hard and challenging sometimes but it is lots of fun. It has made me a stronger swimmer.

I am working on many things such as improving my breast stroke, underwater kicks, and keeping my head down when swimming free style. RSNL: Favorite non-swimming topic?

6 Page 6 This section of our quarterly newsletter is devoted to our RST swimmers who started on the Wave, and made the transition to swim year-round with the Mavericks. This Mav swimmer was hand picked by the coaches to share her growing experience of her journey that began within our own home. We proudly present Landry Gold. Rocklin Swim News Letter (RSNL) Swimmer: Landrey Gold Age: 8 Favorite Stroke: butterfly RSNL: How old are you, and when did you start swimming for Wave? I am 8 years old and I started swimming for Wave at age 5. RSNL: What was your fondest moment when you swam for the Wave? What I remember most is Coach Ryan being funny all the time! I also see them at practice and we have play dates sometimes too. Some of my Wave friends are going to join Mavs!
