The University of Miami athletic department is excited to host your team in the NCAA Women s Tennis Regional Championship! This Participant Manual contains information regarding the tournament, local hotels and restaurants, a campus and city map, medical information from our training staff and comp ticket list from our ticket office. Enclosed you will find a Complimentary Ticket List for coaches players in the tournament. Please fill out the form and return to practice on May 11th. Also enclosed is a Team Information Form that is to be filled out and faxed or ed back as soon as possible. We will use this information to assign the practice and meeting times. 3 NCAA WOMEN S REGIONAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS Hosted By: THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI May 12 th and 13 th, 2007 Schedule of Events Friday, May 11 Practices for all teams Coaches Meeting Neil Schiff tennis house upstairs Team Welcome BBQ 6pm (tentative based on team arrivals) Saturday, May 12 Match 1: Wichita State vs. South Carolina - 10 AM Match 2: Alabama A&M vs. Miami - 1 PM Sunday, May 13 Match 3: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2 12 PM Tournament Hotel The tournament hotel will be: Airport Marriott 120 NE Le Jeune Road Miami, Fl Phone: Fax: Rate: $129/night Contact: Reginald Sperling Facilities: The tournament will take place at the University of Miami s Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The site consists of 8 hard courts and 6 warm-up courts, which are surfaced with Plexi pave. Trainers: The training room on UM s campus will be available for use throughout the entire tournament. A trainer will be available and on duty each day of the tournament. Additional medical information available on attached memo. Practice: There will be two practice courts available for each team on Friday, May 11 th. Times will be assigned based on arrivals and requested practice times. Please return attached info sheet with your requested times and your travel plans.

4 NCAA WOMEN S REGIONAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS Hosted By: THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI May 12 th and 13 th, 2007 Parking: Parking will be provided for two vehicles per team at the gated parking lot between the Neil Schiff Tennis Complex and the Hecht Athletic center (See attached map). Credentials: Credentials will be provided in the welcome packet for staff, coaches & athletes. This will allow access into the Neil Schiff Tennis Center and the Hospitality Suite. Please request how many credentials you will need for the tournament. (players, coaches & staff only) Inclement Weather: Any change in the match schedule, due to inclement weather, will be determined by the NCAA staff, Tournament Manager, and the Tournament Referee. Tickets & Player Pass List: Tickets will be sold for the NCAA Tennis Regional. Adult tickets will be $5 per day and students, children, and senior citizens tickets will be $3 per day. The attached pass list will be used for the players guests. Please present your player pass list at the coaches meeting on Thursday. Please be aware that due to NCAA regulations, the host institution will bill the visiting team for any tickets used at the tournament. Racket Stringer: The official racket stringer during the tournament will be Racquet World. The store is located approximately 1 mile south of campus on US 1/ South Dixie Highway. Racquet World 6112 South Dixie Highway Hours: Mon-Fri 10am-7pm South Miami, FL Saturday 10am -5pm Contact: Leon Echavarria Cell: Tennis Balls: The NCAA men s tennis championship will use Wilson US Open Extra Duty balls. Hospitality: Bagels, fruit, soda, bottled water & Gatorade will be provided throughout the day in the Hospitality suite located upstairs in the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. This hospitality suite is for athletes, coaches & staff only.

We look forward to hosting the NCAA Regional Tennis Tournament on May 12-13, 2006, here at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. We would like to provide the following information to help you prepare for your visit to Miami. The tennis tournament will take place at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on San Amaro Drive of the University of Miami campus. The athletic training room is located adjacent to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in the Hecht Athletic Center. It will be open two hours before the start of each tennis match, and will remain open until all treatments have been completed following the matches. Water and cups will be located on each court. Ice, ice bags, and wrap will also be available at the tennis center. OSHA supplies, ice bags, and emergency and first-aid equipment will be available on site. If an athlete is currently receiving treatment for an injury and the team is not traveling with an athletic trainer, we ask that written instructions from a Certified Athletic Trainer be brought with the athlete for conformity of care. We also recommend that insurance information for each player be brought to expedite any emergency medical services that may be needed. In case of emergency, the University of Miami uses HealthSouth Doctor s Hospital located at 1150 Campo Sano Avenue. Each team will receive two (2) courts to practice on. All practice times will be held on Friday, May 11, We will assign practice times based on your team s arrival time Miami. If you do not want to practice on Friday after you arrive or have a practice time preference, please state this at the bottom of your sheet. We cannot guarantee any specific times. Each team will be allotted the same amount of time for practice. 10 Map of Area Surrounding University of Miami Directions to NEIL SCHIFF TENNIS CENTER: FROM THE CITY & POINTS NORTH: Take I-95 South until it becomes U.S. Continue south about 5 miles to SW 57th Ave. (a.k.a. Red Road). Turn right onto SW 57th Ave. and make another immediate right turn onto Ponce de Leon Blvd. At the first light, turn left onto San Amaro Dr. (a.k.a. - Hurricane Drive). The Neil Schiff Tennis Center is ¼ mile on the right. FROM RT. 826 (A.K.A. PALMETTO EXPWY) & POINTS WEST: Take Rt. 826 and exit Miller Dr. (a.k.a. SW 56th St.). Turn left and continue until it dead ends at the University and San Amaro Drive. Turn right onto San Amaro Drive. Make a U-turn across the median at Corniche and the Neil Schiff Tennis Center will be in front of you. FROM MIAMI AIRPORT: Take Exit marked Coral Gables/LeJeune Rd. Exit onto LeJeune and head south until it intersects Ponce de Leon Blvd. (just before the Metrorail). Turn right and go 7 miles to San Amaro Dr. (a.k.a. Hurricane Dr.). The Neil Schiff Tennis Center is 1/4 mile on the right.
