9 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News A growing Gohio Commute enrolls Cleveland Clinic and other businesses to help workers The Plain Dealer, September 22 Businesses enrolled in Gohio Commute pass 200 mark Employers that join Gohio Commute benefit by reducing parking needs, improving worker health and attracting young workers, who increasingly avoid traditional commutes Leaders of the Clinic and NOACA think of carpooling, bicycling, walking and mass transit as good medicine.
10 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH NOACA in the News Lake Erie Coastal Byway Rock the Lake, September 22 Smart phone app that helps you find 300+ activities along 293 miles of Ohio s north shore NOACA collaboratively developed the app with the Erie Regional Planning Commission The app groups attractions: nature, history or activity and uses GPS to tell you what s nearby as you travel.

14 COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH Other Transportation News ODOT employing variable speed-limit signage on Interstate 90 in Lake County The News Herald, November 19 ODOT has begun installing permanent variable speed-limit signs on I-90 between SR-44 and Ohio 528 Signage to be active in early 2018 Speeds will be lowered based on pavement conditions, precipitation, visibility and traffic congestion High speeds and inclement weather have contributed to chainreaction accidents on this stretch of I-90 Cleveland.com

18 LEGISLATIVE & FUNDING ISSUES Trump Infrastructure Bill Still A Priority Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said on Tuesday that a long-promised infrastructure package is still an Administration priority "You're going to see it, just not at the original timeframe. I do not expect infrastructure to come out until probably early next year. But this will be part of the dynamic of the legislative process."

26 OVERALL WORK PROGRAM (OWP) ITS Architecture Update Intelligent Transportation Systems: The application of advanced sensor, computer, electronics, and communication technologies and management strategies, in an integrated manner, to improve the safety and efficiency of the transportation system January 2001 FHWA published FHWA Rule 940 (23 CFR Part 940) FTA published a companion policy, to implement section 5206(e) of TEA-21 The Rule/Policy seeks to foster regional integration by requiring that all ITS projects funded from the Highway Trust Fund be in conformance with the National ITS Architecture and officially adopted standards
