The 2015 car show season has kicked off with a great showing at the 51 annual Starbird Car Show. With a couple of folks changing their minds due to weather and allotted space we still had 21 cars show. Will Roy almost didn t get his car in for display. A special thanks to Roger & Elaine Bymun for coordinating our entry to the show Elaine, thank you for taking Will to get his car just prior to entry time. And kudos to our members and their friends and family who helped in the setup and take down of the corral. Many came who did not show their cars. For many years that I can t count, the club has used a corral made of real wood and cinder block support. This was the first year of many to come we decided to go with our ropes and metal stanchions only. It required purchasing an additional 200 feet of rope Wednesday evening during setup. The Board discussed redoing the stanchions that will allow a tire to hold them in place rather than the use of duct tape. More on that later. S T A R B I R D S H O W P I C T U R E S C L U B A P P L I C A T I O N F O R M Birthdays and Anniversaries 03/03 - Millie Ramsey /05 - Christina Komala 03/08 - Paula Frerichs 03/10 - Bob Miller 03/11 - Art & Paula Frerichs 03/12 - John Eaton 03/12 - Melody Ecklar 03/13 - Dan & Sydney Nichols 03/17 - Justin Laird 03/21 - Doug Stover 03/23 - Richard Herrmann 03/24 - Christy Jeffcoat 03/29 - Jim & Jan Massey 03/30 - Larry Love One of the benefits of participating in this show is the great opportunity provided in recruiting new members. We had a table set up with newsletters, brochures, business cards and applications. I know of six applications I handed out and know there were only five left of 20 Saturday evening of which was replenished Sunday morning. Pictures of the show can be found on our Facebook page. On page 12 of this newsletter you ll find some of those pictures. Three of our members were unfortunately not included in these pictures 2007 Shelby GT Will Roy 1993 GT - Brad Long 1993 GT 1966 Convertible - David Bringaze. The club can be proud we had winner of the 50 available Melvin s granddaughter, Lindsey Jobe, won with a car Melvin built for her. One tradition continued of which I missed again club members have dinner at a local Rib Crib on Saturday. This year included a special event a celebration of Earl Hillard s 77 th birthday. Oh, the Starbird show was chip free!! Club Treasurer Sandy Bradford has obtained a debit card from the bank for our use. This removes the burden from an individual from securing payment of web site fees, merchandise store and PayPal processing. Weather unfortunately cancelled our first club cruise. Steve Armstrong has many more events on the calendar with others planned. Perhaps the Hammet House Restaurant cruise can be rescheduled. We shall see. Have a great spring and hope to see you and your ponies at upcoming events. Please be sure to read the minutes and the calendar. Mustangs Rule!! John Hemby

The 51st Annual Darryl Starbird Rod and Custom Car Show was a big success, and was only possible because of YOUR participation! Without our incredible exhibitors and vendors, this event does not happen. We appreciate your support and understanding as we transitioned into this new era of Starbird Shows. The Next Generation wasn't always perfect and had plenty of kinks to iron out, but we promise to keep working on every aspect so we can produce the best show possible. We just wanted to thank you directly and hope that the shortcomings of 2015 will not deter you from coming back in Fortunately, we can only go up from here. Best of luck in the coming year and we hope to see you next February! 5
