Show car and dinner cruise season is well underway! We ve had so many different choices and venues to choose from I ve personally changed my original plans twice. M E E T I N G M I N U T E S 3 S T U R G I S S H O W 9 M U S T A N G C R O S S W O R D P U Z Z L E C L U B A P P L I C A T I O N F O R M 1 0 N E W M E M B E R S 1 2 Birthdays and Anniversaries /05 - Daniel Place 05/06 - Jason Granado 05/07 - Ginette Smith 05/11 - Keith Tinsley 05/14 - Troy Rushing 05/17 - Earl & Cindy Hillard 05/19 - Lonnie Iannazzo 05/22 - Doug & Jewel Goggans 05/24 - Jerry Crane 05/29 - Ronnie Ramsey 05/29 - Jim & Gloria Campos 05/29 - Steve & Sally Armstrong 05/30 - Scott Cool 05/31 - Bruce Jones I had tried to get to the Red Fern Festival with the McGhees and friends for years yet something always came up. This year was going to be different so I thought. Something else did come up the Glenpool Black Gold Festival had their inaugural car show the same day. TA Hollis, a member of the city council, invited us to come and as a result of our s and phone calls, he became our first new member to use our on-line process and joined the club. I felt I needed to support TA and the City of Glenpool and 13 other GCCM riders thought so too. It was a great day for an open car, truck and motorcycle show. They had 179 vehicles by registration closure and turned four away. They judging was by popular participant vote for numerous categories. We were in categories with all makes and models. Jim and Ila Liner made an appearance in their new 15 GT convertible. Members Troy and Cary Rushing enjoyed their inaugural car show to the point I heard rumor Cary wants her own Mustang. It was a great day to spend time with old and new friends. A pesky wasp wasn t going to ruin it for us either! In addition to the friends, food and fun quite a few GCCM members went home with bling to add to their trophy collection. We learned of those who attended the Red Fern Festival had a good time too along with beating out some tough competition. Bob Huntsinger placed with his Red Fire 06 GT and Melvin beat out a couple of sweet Chevy s. If you haven't had a chance to get out there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Check out the calendar on the next page. The one event you don t want to miss is our annual picnic on Melvin s property. Each year we all get together, with our ponies, and have some great grilled food and make wonderful memories Kodak moments are always a certainty. Several clubs have been invited including Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma City. I have good word that there may be as many as 30 cars coming from OKC alone. Come on out and show off your pony and put the feed bag on while wrangling with your fellow enthusiasts. If you can t make it check out the other opportunities to eat and greet over the next several months. Mustangs Rule!! John Hemby

9 Last year, the Granado s and the Hollis s went to Sturgis Mustang Rally and came back all revved up to go again this year. Therefore, Linda Hollis and I, Jerry Bush, are making all the plans to get as many from this area to go with us for the 2015 Rally, Sept This is a big event, so NOW is the time to get reservations in Sturgis and get signed up. You will also need reservations in Mitchell, SD, which is our one evening stop on Sept. 1. We are currently working on the details. Our Facebook page has information about motels and the Sturgis Rally web site has all the information about registration and events. is the web site for the Rally and is our Facebook page. Because some Ponies will be leaving Sept. 1 from Joplin and maybe some leaving from Tulsa, the thought at the present time, is to meet up in Kansas City. Please consider this show for one of your big trips of the year. There are lots of sights to see, such as Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Drive to Deadwood, events and racing at the Thunderdome, Poker run through the Black Hills of SD., the car show, a Banquet Dinner, and much more. Check out the web sites or contact Jerry Bush or Linda Hollis. 9
