5 CENTRAL OKLAHOMA CLASSIC CHEVY CLUB MEETING MINUTES of August 13, 2017 Call to Order: President Ken Monroe called the August meeting to order. Pledge of allegiance was given. Birthdays: Rodney Duerksen Wedding anniversary number 50 for Chris and Susan Grove Minutes : Motion made by Annette and seconded by Rustyne to accept the minutes from July as printed in the DASHBOARD. Accepted. Treasurers report: given by Adeline. Old Business: Mike Rhoades reported the bike for AMBUCS s for trikes is being built. This was part of our charity donations last Christmas. Eckler s car show in Springdale, Ark. Club received plaque for club participation. Myers, Johnsons, Kay Welch, Simpsons, Bradshers, Wests and Roberts attended Joe McIninch went to Bethany 4 th July with Corvette, Mayors Choice. Dale Kosa went to Salina. New Business: Tom has been notified Fuzz cafeteria has closed. Will need to change plans for Christmas party. Annette made motion to find a location and have a covered dish party. Passed. Location is still to be decided. Joe McIninch and Eddie Watts offered locations. Club participation in the UCO Homecoming Oct 14 th car show, 12 car spots. Now the question is whether to take part in the parade 9:30am. Motion by Adeline, seconded Rustyne to take part in parade. Passed. Information about making calendars again for Impressions Printing 50= $444.43, 100=$590.97, 150 = $ Rodney made motion, seconded by David R. for the club to buy 100 calendars. Each family get 1 free calendar, additional copies would be purchased, motion passed Doug presented information on the Santa Village in Minco. They want help to put the car show on in Minco Park, Nov 4. Information about Phil Daniel estate auction, Aug 19 th. He passed away Dec He use to be a club member. Aug 26 car show at Lyons Park on Hefner Dr, club used to participate in this show. 7 Ladies Choice David and Mahala Jones 1957 Chevy Belair David s story about this Classic Chevy Bought the car in the summer of 1996 at a Drumright dealership The car was just driveable Jack Reeves in OKC did a off-frame restoration in 2001 the interior was farmed out to another vendor by Reeves Amenities include power steering front disk breaks and air conditioning We drive this car everywhere we a chance to show off our classic and whenever the occasion arises. This car has never been trailered. David and Mahala have attended the Bixoli, MS Crusin the Coast event twice in 2002 and 2003 and will again attend this fall. They have also attended every fall foliage event with the car. This car is David s grandson s favorite car he calls the car his car. The grandson was 9 years old when they bought the car and 21 years later it s still his car. 7

9 Editorial Note: I am interested in adding several other sections or articles to the newsletter. I have interviewed and reviewed other car club newsletters. Plan to do a feature article on officers and car club member several times a year, would like to have a tips on mechanics and a recipe section. So please contribute.
